The dialogue options glitched to only giving me "continue." as an option at 1:19:25 when I wanted to convince Astarion not to ascend, accidentally forced me into not helping him. When he turned around and said, "honestly, I hope you die screaming" it came so out of nowhere I was heartbroken and confused because I genuinely wanted what was best for him 😂
Nah, killed this trickster as soon as he did 1 bite. That's why watched your video. Cool, thanks) won't play again second, so just watched his part here)
Had to look this up because I no matter what I tried, I couldn't get Astarion to ascend. My game is sadly bugged. One of the sacrifices sometimes disappears completely or doesn't light up at all, which registers the same as if I killed them. Really frustrating. Hope it gets fixed soon. Thanks for sharing.
Really wanna know if it's possible to grant Astarion freedom of ascendent, but stop him from power tripping his balls off. And be something better then Cazador.
My girl was a good lean on nuetral alignment , helped a lot of people but was never self sacrificial ( wouldn't do illithid ) he was still like that with her. She wanted to travel with him but come epilogue no sign of that only what he wanted of the political game via the ball
I feel like killing Cazador and the seven thousand spawn is the best case scenario. If I was going evil I’d have him complete the ritual but at least the seven thousand would go down too.
for the first bite in ACT 1, you want to look for a dead boar near the Blightened Village. Interact with the boar and examine it. If you succeed the check on it, afterwards take a full rest. You should get the prompt on that same night.
What about the sunset scenes? No one has uploaded what happens when he's vampire ascendant and sunrise happens all the youtube videos astorion burns and runs into the underdark...and my savegame is too far away to ascend him to see the difference
If Astarion became a Vampire Ascendant, he will not burn at the docks when the sun rises. He will make a remark about it, I forgot the exact wording. You can find footage of the various "Endgame" scenes on YT.
IIRC Cazador will somehow collect Astarion's body to continue the ritual. However, the body was decomposed beyond recognition but Cazador managed to keep Astarion alive as a zombie. He was called Zombie Astarion should he died and didn't get revived prior to the assault of Cazador's castle.
I can never get the scene of the camp finding out he’s a vampire to trigger. I just wake up either dead or bloodless and I just have the exclamation sign above his head to talk to him but when I do it’s just me and him, the rest of the camp doesn’t seem to notice anything. Tell me what I’m doing wrong 😩
So in act 2 you have to make the beast kill himself to get rapheal to appear we are stuck to find rapheal after we killed the beast that rapheal told us to do if that makes sense
he really needs to make a better first impression. as it is i just cannot stop myself from killing him first night in camp. there is no reason whatsoever to let him live from a story flow perspective. hes just some random dude who holds a knife to your throat and then off the back of that you wake up to him standing over you with no time to develop a useful place on the team or really any reason to keep him alive.
Astarion is very useful but with the right skills it's like umbralma she sucks where to miss everything else with the stable skill she gets good, Astarion is a runaway slave obvious he wouldn't be so friendly he thinks everyone is going to kill him and this is clear when he says he slept with you so he wouldn't kill you and survive since he has no one and no one to trust, he doesn't hurt anyone he considers a friend and he's a good friend so much to worry about the situation from gale and with you, a lot of people say that he is narcissistic more people like that don't worry about anyone and Astarion is the opposite of that so he is not, the truth is that Astarion who has to trust you and not you in him we reached the conclusion that Astarion is just a traumatized guy where he is surprised and speechless and doesn't know what to do when you just give him a hug after all this scene is very cute, he is the humor of the game lol and he can be one of your strongest companions if knowing how to use his vampire skills honestly would not trade Astarion for any of the other companions he is very good for me both in terms of story skills and dialogues since you have to make him be less worried about everything related to him and his horrible master, he is a good character
Why are there so many people getting bent out of shape about Astarion and the knife at the first meeting?? These characters live in a pseudo-medieval world full of tribal wars, dark gods, slavery, monsters and magic... in such a world, frankly nobody gives a crap about a little knife! Funny, Laez'el threatens the player avatar _with a huge sword_ and is about to kill us at _her_ first meeting because she assumed we were a cultist Mindflayer thrall (before the tadpole interfered), yet I don't hear you whine about that or say "oh man I just had to kill Laez'el". What hypocrisy. It's like the Astarion-haters are just looking for some dumb excuse to kill him. Frankly, if a rogue had truly _wanted_ to slit your throat, you would've been dead. Astarion clearly only wanted answers. He had been abducted, infected, crashlanded, woken up in an unfamiliar place (freaking out in broad daylight, thinking he was about to burn)... and here comes a potentially dangerous stranger who might be armed or worse ne a spellcaster... a stranger Astarion saw walking around freely on the Nautiloid, thus Astarion had to assume you might be in league with those Mindflayers. HE EVEN TELLS YOU THAT. The moment you tell him you're also an abductee, Astarion puts the knife away and has a civil conversation. If you stopped obsessing about your own _feelings_ and for one moment tried to see things from Astarion's perspective (which is what _empathy_ means), you'd realize he was panicking and trying to make himself appear dangerous in the hopes you, the stranger, would not mug him. "Without any reason to keep him alive"? So you would randomly kill someone because he isnt "useful" to you? Wow. Fact is, you as a player know he isn't going to kill you because he is a companion; while your characters should realize, once you find out Astarion is a vampire spawn, that if Astarion was nothing but an evil bloodthirsty monster he would've tried to kill all of you during the first night.... but he didn't. He is surprisingly loyal, in fact. But hey, if you don't want to travel with a vampire spawn, let's talk about how Shadowheart initially is introduced as a cleric of Shar -- which if you have ever played D&D Forgotten Realms, you'd know Shar is the dark goddess who caused most of the terrible god-wars in Faerun's history by her meddling and Shar cultists are quite reviled -- and she is clearly keeping secrets, so by your logic if you're playing a "good" character you would've had massive reasons to mistrust Shadowheart or flat-out kill her.
@@TF2CrunchyFrog the difference between astarion and lazell is she confronts you head on. astarion manipulates you into a position of vulnerability and then exploits it. i will grant you that the encounter does go better if you pass the perception check. the difference between astarion and shadowheart is that you have a long time to get used to her and her perspective before she springs the shar worshipper thing on you, whereas astarion just tries to feed on you without your consent first night in camp. fact is astarion presents himself a a persistent threat and there isnt enough time between events for any reasonable character to build up enough empathy or attachment to consider third chances. so yes i absolutely kill the dishonorable cur after he tries to assault me twice back to back while im in a position of vulnerability. because these characters live in a pseudo-medieval world full of tribal wars, dark gods, slavery, monsters and magic... in such a world you need friends to watch your back not stab it.

The knife to your throat is a bit of a silly excuse really. From his perspective he's in a mind flayer pod and sees you walking around apparently perfectly free. Given that I suspect most people would view you with great suspicion. Lae'zel is a fighter so thats how she reacts to just about anything. Astarion isn't and doesn't even have a sword to confront you head on with. That's not manipulation, thats using what you have the best way you know how in a bad situation. those vampires were taking constant radiant damage in my game and dissappeared :(
I figured out what it was. I had the blood of lethander equipped. Even if its just equipped in another slot they run from it.

can somebody that knows plz tell me what the trigger for him trying to bite you is. non of the wiki's actually have that info

Everyone on your team must have excessively good jumping skills😅
I found the tower that's attached to the place you way point to and it gets you to the tire without having to jump
What if you kill Astarion? Can you still have a quest with Cazador (final battle)?
I need to know this also 😂
Yes. He shows up as a zombie

He will be a zombie who was caught by the hunter inside the lair in act 3.
by the way u miss end game scenarios about astarion. which he normal spawn or vampire ascended
