Based on this, as well as Scotty Kilmers reviews, I tried this product. Holy crap! My truck runs like brand new again. Thanks for your effort! :)
Dude I just saw video about it and same thing seeing this makes me want to buy one lmao 😂
Dropping Scotty Kilmer name make you look 9+10=21 in my book. I bet you are not old enough to drive.
@@Frankiarmz You are wasting your money. If your injectors were dirty. You would have a check engine light.
That’s right use three times the amount the directions say because the directions are keeping it EPA compliant
Used this on my '13 Hyundai Veloster, cleaned up the idle to perfection! I'm a fan 😁👍
My Honda Civic was lazy , I used gumout , and now it rides with more power , I do 80 mph and it wants more , love this product , I'm going to use it in every fill up
I appreciate the quick visual test but typically it takes some time for the product to eat away at the deposits - usually within one fill up. While it did show some improvement during this brief test , I bet you'd see even better results with extended use.
@@djsalseromusica5433 you need to slam on the gas and bring it up to redline. It will knock out all the carbon deposits if you just drive slow it wont clean it out. After putting it in the fuel tank drive like 200 miles then go on the highway and redline it a few times and it will do a way better job
I PUT one can in 10 gallon tank of my 40 yr old pinto and within about 20 miles it was running much smoother. after 50 it was like a brand new car engine. wow. gona use it every 5 tanks or when i see the missing or sluggishness. it works. this was done after i had installed new plugs and oil change. im happy
Used this on toyota highlander with 100,000 miles, noticeable improvement in economy and smoothness
Just got a can of this stuff my car was hella ideling and shaking added 4oz to the motor oil and the rest to the gas tank and it made a hell of difference no more shaking
I put 1/3 of the can into my gas tank Everytime I fill my tank up. Over the course of 3 months, yes I do notice better gas milage in the car. And in my opinion. It runs more smoothly
I believe it. The process with PEA is a cleaning that takes place over time.
@@Sector001ked ran this summer without it and I've noticed worst gas milage over all. The last 2 years I was averaging about 26 mpg(with 1/3 bottle to every full refill. Running without it(since March 2024) especially the last 2 months(aug-sept) I'm at about 23 mpg. Will start back on the stuff consistently comes spring.
@@masterxiong7368 I use this in combination with CRC’s Intake cleaner with PEA. It helps with carbon deposits in my Kia GDI engine
I use gumout tune up added 6 oz on every oil change and i use a whole bottle in the gas tank . i just adjust valves on my 2014 accord , open the valve cover in the look fantastic clean. I wont use anything else . you video just prove what experience on my own car. plese if you have a better product that gumout let us all know. thank you
2017 Subaru GDI with 170,000, i mixed with about 3/4 tank and maybe it’s just a placebo effect but man car feels smoother and acceleration better…In my mind there is no doubt it worked and so well that my next fill up i added another can with a full fill up(pumped about 1/2 tank added GO then pumped until full) can’t wait to get fresh plugs and services done and have this Subie running even more like a champ @ 170,000 miles
Scott Kilmer and this video changed my views on additives. No more Seafoam for me. Now excuse me this video makes me have to pee for some reason.
@@458joey I've heard that alot. Cant remember where. IS this also true for marine engines? I heard seafoam was really made for marine engines and outboards hence the name.
@@Harrisboyuno yes. When it came out in the 40s it was intended for marine motors. You are correct
Nice comparison, unfortunately you don’t have compression or heat. So, what was the expectation. LOL 😂
You should try the vacuum hose line process. I used the same can and had it suck in. I did the full can in short burst and when I look behind the truck, it was as if some had pealed out burning rubber in smoke. Truck runs fine now with good mileage.
Works effectively when you put this in your tank evey time you fill up. If its your first time using this, run your tank to almost empty and then fill it up with this product, drive it for a bit and then fill your tank half full and then add another bottle of this. Cleans your entire fuel injector.
Maybe a dumb question but what does a spray pattern look like from a new injector?
Can you possibly run gas through a new injector so can know what it's supposed to look like?
Thanks
Spray pattern should be wide spray. It starts as a stream which isnt good then it gets wider, that's better. So it did help but not much
My 2001 subaru outback is running like crap. I'm going to give this a go and get back to you the cars idle is awful and sometimes it cuts out and sounds like it has a small explosion sound in the engine area . I keep thinking dirty injectors. Well I guess I'll find out .
Thanks for the video nate
only thing ive found that actually does something
Look...This product works wonders from my personal experience with using it!!! Just try it for yourself and then decide! It's really that simple! Thanks
I just picked this up for my 2019 civic coupe ex-t. They're notorious for failing fuel injectors. So much so there's a shortage of them, and Honda even changed the design. I'm at 50k miles now, and have always used 93, 91, or 91 non ethanol, and always run FI cleaner. I hope I'm still ok, but you never know.
It would be helpful if you gave more context to the test.
For example, I pulled all the injectors and selected the one with the worst spray pattern. My test setup uses an actual injection pump which puts out 100 PSI (I'm making this up I have know idea how much pressure an injection pump produces). At the start of the test the injector had the following spray pattern (show video clip here) and an output of 50 ml / minute (again making this up). I reinstalled the worst injector in my truck and ran a full tank of premium fuel using Gumout Multi-System Tune-Up. Here's the same injector after 18 gallons of Gumout Multi-System Tune-Up treated fuel has been run through it at highway speed. The output increased to 125 ml / minute and you can see that the spray pattern has broadened considerably.
This would take more effort on your part and require the purchase of an inexpensive beaker. However, it would impart a great deal more information. The fuel additives are designed to work at engine operating temperatures and pressures so you test doesn't show much because I can't tell much by the spray pattern and the output volume is also important.
Good effort, but you can do better.
The real question is if the effects are lasting. The additive will lower the viscosity of the fuel, so the fuel will have an easier time moving through the system. Does this mean the effects last only while it's mixed in your fuel tank? or are the effects a result of it actually cleaning out the fuel system, so you don't lose the effects once you fill-up with plain gasoline again ?
I've put this in my tank and notice an improvement. Put 4 ounces into my oil a few days before an oil change and HOLY MOLY, it's like I have a new car. Shifts better, drives better, gets better MPG's... this is amazing.
Kool video, I have a 98 dodge caravan, after using this stuff it's running great. BTW I been using it once a week. Every time I fill up. And it's great!!! Ty
On my 2nd tankful of this stuff. It sure is making a different sound in the combustion chambers , Deeper tone.
For best results, how to poured in the gas tank? I have a Scion Iq, 8.5 gallons capacity. Pour the full can in an empty tank??? Please if you can advise?
I usually wait till 1/2 tank, pour full bottle (Gumout)in then fill the tank up.
Hello Nates: I use Gumout tune up in my 2014 Accord every oil change , now with 45 k it does the same gas milage x gallon since I bought the car. I am assume that it works good.
How much do you put. I follow the instructions it says 1oz per quart. I put 5 quarts oil so I put about 5 ounces. Which is about 148ml. Is that good?
Does this work on the prostrate?😅
Gumout does work but to clean the injectors I use detergent gasoline like Mobil and it does clean well.
QUESTION & CONCERN FOR GUMOUT: Today I put a little bit of this Gumout product in the gasoline part of the lawn mower. I have a push lawn mower from Club Cadet. It takes about four hours to mow the yard. I always need to refill one time - about 75% through the work. The gasoline is always 100% empty when I refill it, because the mower gradually stops and shuts itself off because of a lack of fuel. But, today was different. This has me concerned, because today I used Gumout in the gasoline. I will explain.
I opened up the gasoline part of the lawn mower when I started out. There was only a little bit of gasoline, so I put in the Gumout. I then filled up with the gasoline. Everything initially seemed okay. But after about an hour, I noticed a problem. There seemed to be a slightly visible form of smoke. But, it was just barely visible and I could not tell where it was coming from. And I wasn't even 100% sure I was seeing "smoke." I just thought it seemed like there "might" be something similar to smoke. That is about the only way I can describe it. The mower continued working, though, so I continued mowing. Can Gumout tell me why any form of visible "smoke" would be seen?
I continued mowing for about another half hour. I then heard the mower gradually start to shut itself off - as if it were out of fuel. The problem with this is, it was FARRRR SOONER than where I normally am when I need to refill the lawn mower with gasoline. This was a BIG concern. If Gumout can tell me why that would happen, I would appreciate it?
So, I went to get the gasoline container. When I opened up the gasoline container part of the lawn mower, I was surprised to see the gasoline container was NOT "empty." There was a visible amount of gasoline in the lawn mower - about the same amount of gasoline as when I first put Gumout into the lawn mower today. Can Gumout tell me "why" the lawn mower would now be shutting itself off in what is apparently a "lack of fuel" sort of way, even though there was a decent amount of fuel remaining?
I then filled up the lawn mower with gasoline. It took SIX tries for the lawn mower to start! I was very concerned, because I thought to myself, "I hope Gumout didn't ruin my lawn mower." This lawn mower always starts on the first pull.
After I eventually got the mower started, I continued mowing the yard. I did not expect to need to fill the lawn mower again with gasoline. However, prior to finishing the yard, the mower actually DID for a SECOND TIME gradually start to make noises as if it were running out of gas, and then stop running. So, for the SECOND TIME, I went and got the gas can. I knew Gumout must be responsible for this, because there has NEVER been a need to refill TWO times over the last three years I have owned this mower. Can Gumout tell me if using Gumout lowers the fuel efficiency in some way?
When I opened up the gasoline part of the lawn mower this time, I was STUNNED when I saw that ONCE AGAIN there was a VISIBLE AMOUNT of gasoline in the mower AGAIN! Normally the mower would not stop itself for a lack of fuel unless there was no gasoline at all. This was the SECOND TIME today that I was seeing a decent amount of gasoline in the container of the lawn mower - about the same amount as when I first put Gumout into the lawn mower today. Can the staff off Gumout please tell me why the lawn mower is now shutting itself off as if it has no fuel, even though there is clearly a visible amount of gasoline in the lawn mower?
If I had had accidentally put too much Gumout the first time, I could understand this problem happening once. But when I put more fuel into the lawn mower the second time, it would dilute the remaining Gumout in the gasoline container part of the lawn mower in a way that would make it so the problems would be minimized or gone - right? Instead, the EXACT same problem occurred. The only difference was that on the "second" time I was able to start the mower with four pulls instead of six. Again, normally I would simply refuel and start on the FIRST pull. Can the staff of Gumout please tell me why it now takes so many pulls to get the mower to start after using more gasoline now?
Also, after refueling the second time, I could literally "feel" a form of "heat" from the lawn mower. This has never happened in the past. Is this likely associated with Gumout?
BOTTOM LINE: The "experience" I had with Gumout today was a negative experience. Things "changed" for the first time in three years, and the "changes" were not positive. I now needed to refuel two times instead of one - which means the fuel efficiency seems to have declined. And each time I needed to refuel, there was a "visible" amount of fuel remaining in the lawn mower. Can the staff of Gumout please tell me why that would happen? This is the third season this mower is being used. I have never experienced any problems with this mower in the past. If Gumout can tell me how to fix this, I would appreciate it.
UPDATE: It has been over a year and Gumout still has NOT responded to my message from last year. It is safe to say Gumout is NOT going to respond in order to answer my question. This is obviously very poor service from Gumout. Nates Interactive Auto also did not respond, which is also very disappointing.
Chevy Silverado 2004 5.3 was sluggish at 140k did new plugs wires but still

Just added some of this to my gdi cars gas tank, Hope it cleans this good in the car.
U just earned a sub!
Thanks please always tell me how to improve and what you would like to see next
Can you add it pure w no gas mixed?
Well, at least its spraying. The product is probably designed to be used over a certain time frame to do a better job. Like the time it takes to use a tank of fuel. But even then it has its limitations.
That's correct, and best results are obtained if you will buy two or perhaps even three bottles and run consecutive treated tanks of gas to give it a full cleaning treatment. To do a fair and accurate test, run a camera snake into the engine before and after. Just back one spark plug out, put the camera snake in and run video. Then after two tanks with the gumout, do an "after" video. That's the way to run a real test.
I dont see this stuff on the front counters at auto stores anymore. Maybe they stopped paying the premium for promotion?
"Let's use 3 times the recommended amount to see if it works"... how about using the recommended amount?
Do you add on an empty or a fourth tank for best results
Yes near a empty tank . Also check out there website or look a back of bottle at Wal-Mart
@@Devo1987I may need a new exhaust manifold. The cost is 600. I have tried cataclean, lacker thinner and 44k. Of course engine light has been on years before I tried this. So could be too late.
There is a new one out 2 time the cleaning and carbon cleaning
What will happen if you put more than the recommended dosage in your oil or gas tank is it going to damage anything
It going to eat the rubber O-rings on your injector and cause fuel leak. if you are going to use higher then recommended mix ratio, I would recommend you do it on a long trip so that you can finish the tank of fuel in one trip. If you finish the tank of fuel in one multiple days, the cleaner is going to eat the injector O-ring over time.
These tests are sus, show us the whole rig assuring constant pressure between the tests, because it sort of just looks like someone is bending a hose to show a marked difference
I wanna see gumout tune up used thru the vaccuum line err oucas used thru the vaccuum line.
And i aint finna say it nomore
Can i use crc throttle body spray cleaner in the throttle body to clean valves and all in 01 civic
I tried similar in a video check it out just follow manufacturer's instructions
can you tri red line fuel injection cleaner
Hi Nates: They are taking PEA OUT of their products, too expensive maybe. Opt for cheaper stuffs called "new formulas" to save the cost I guess. Please check the effectiveness of their NEW formula cleaners and let your loyal viewers know. Thanks in advance.
Now I have to go pee
you should tell us if it's worth it or not
Worth it in my book. Accidentally left fuel in my push mower over the Winter, poured some of this in the tank and after letting it sit a couple days it started right up. Runs like a champ now.
What about gumout regane multi syatem tune up?
Is this safe in a Porsche with a v6?
Your injectors don't get dirty because of the fuel filter. Any dirt small enough to get pass the filter. Is not large enough to clog the injectors. Shops sell fuel injection cleaning because it is a way to make money. I have a 2004 Trailblazer with 183k miles. I've never used fuel injection cleaner but I did make a video of me changing the fuel filter.
I have a 2004 Chevy Trailblazer EXT Lt with over 238,000 miles & after using Gumout Tuneup it gets better gas mileage.
You are 100% lying. I know this because no additive will clean a dirty fuel system.@@luckyducky6534
Thanks for the test. But why not do the actual ratio that your viewer would do in their car. Showing results at 3x strength provides no practical value to anyone watching this who doesn't intend to dump 3 cans into their gas tank
I use this twice a month.
I use my wife's old vases
How about an ATF showdown?
Mostly the same way you test oil however an automatic trans biggest enemy is heat. So doing some sort of heating test should be included.
Gumout works to help clean injectors, but doesn’t work to improve fuel economy, remove carbon buildup, or make your vehicle idle quieter. I’ve tested at least 20 different engines on Gumout with a borescope, and there was no change. Techron and Lucas cleaners don’t work either. Seafoam, Marvel Mystery Oil, and Amsoil Performance Improver work.

was it only quiet while the additive was in your fuel tank - or did it come back when you filled up later without the fuel-additive ?
