Hi there, Mark! Hope you had an enjoyable weekend! I only have the debut from Clan of Xymox but I need to check out their other work! Thanks again for stopping by!
Greetings Hanna. Some great finds, that Kinks album in particular. Also really like that Waterboys album. Wish you well on the move. Am looking forward to seeing your "new" music room!
Greetings to you, Todd! Glad you enjoyed seeing this Kinks pickup. Was happy to finally add it. I appreciate the well wishes on my move. The good vibes are appreciated! Hopefully I can do a proper room tour video when all is said and done! Enjoy your evening!
Hehe, I can understand that. I think I'm addicted to going to the shows. I get my biggest rush from attending the record shows. It's going into the unknown and being surprised about what you find! Already looking up dates for the next one, hehe! Cheers and thanks for the comment!
Awesome finds. Always fun to cross off a few grails off a list. I finally got my hands on a vinyl record of Poster Children "Tool of The Man." Always had it on CD. I know you appreciate Illinois power pop etc.. I just got turned on to this band from the early 80's called Phil N The Blanks. Awesome pop new wave stuff. They have 3 release i think and all can be found for cheap.
Hey Brian! Thanks for the heads up on Phil N the Blanks. Definitely gonna look them up! So cool you found a vinyl copy of that Poster Children. Very nice! Cheers and thanks so much for watching and hanging out!
@@TheOmahaIntrovert It's actually this weekend, but they moved it into Minneapolis and I don't like being there. The Fargo one in ND is usually in October. I plan to hit that one again.
Hey there, Gary! Always good to hear from you. Yeah, moving is always a hassle. Luckily I don't have to pay for a moving truck this time. Chris and I are doing this ourselves and I don't have any massive furniture.
great find of the Waterboys This is the Sea. Love the title track and have great memories of college parties where we laughed at drunken people trying to sing along to the song... "dur Har, du hoo, du soo, you saw the whole of the moon" 😅
Lol, “Sign of a true addict… justifying the purchase”. I can definitely relate! Watched the Sparks Brothers documentary this weekend, and I’m now looking forward to catch up with their 90’s / 2000’s albums!
Very nice! It's so cool that their more recent output is just as good as the classic stuff! A very consistent band! Thanks so much for stopping by. Glad you can relate to the vinyl addiction! Cheers!
So glad that you found a copy of Kimono and Indiscreet. Kimono is a gem. I love the Indiscreet inner shot. Imagine going to the local Market Basket and running into Ron and Russell. I know how much you have been digging Sparks. Especially in the last year or so. I had to miss the show tonight in Boston. I am going in for teeth surgery tomorrow morning. Not a happy camper. I was gifted a copy of Kill For Love from a fellow VC member Dan a few years back. I did not know that it has gotten a little tougher to find. I enjoyed it. You did great. You have added some real gems to your collection. You put a lot of leg work into digging. So you deserve them all~ Rob/Boston
Good morning, Rob! Oh, bummer you had to miss the Sparks show last night! I can only hope that I can catch them on tour before it's too late. I certainly hope your teeth surgery goes well this morning. That doesn't sound fun at all. In fact, sounds quite painful. I need to catch up on your latest video offering Very cool you were gifted a copy of Kill for Love by Chromatics from a VC friend! This is the first time I had seen a copy in the wild. The record shows are so exciting! Take care and get some rest after that surgery!
Thanks for sharing. I look forward to hearing more about your Dallas visit and what stores made it worthwhile. Kaya is a very worthy Bob Marley album. Easy to be overlooked following on from the might Exodus. Love hearing you call the Kinks storytellers. I think you talked about the Village Green album in an earlier video. That is my favorite but Lola is great too. I was lucky enough to see Ray Davies many years ago solo talking about The Kinks' history and playing songs. Mesmerizing. Great to see you building up your Sparks collection. Two great finds, you will soon forget the price and be glad you have the albums. Instead of shopping in Dallas record stores we flew to Boston and saw Sparks live. So, we probably paid more for a two-hour show than you did on a record that you can return to whenever you want. They were amazing live. And played songs from both the albums you showed.
Good evening, Richard! And you and I have the same favorite Kinks record! I'm quite jealous you got to see Ray Davies in the flesh! No doubt that was enlightening! So fab that you saw Sparks in Boston. I'm sure it was a varied setlist and a wonderful night for all attendees! How exciting! Congrats!
I find your diversity in your music selection very apparent. That's why I enjoy your videos so much. It was quite obvious to me from the first time I watched one of your videos (before I actually joined in with the VC btw). Plus, you have influenced me to check out earlier albums that I missed or ignored for some reason....like the Waterboys. I've always liked what I've heard from them, but never really checked them out very deeply. A lot of the records you have shown stay in the back of my mind as I'm digging in stores, and if I see something you've mentioned, there is a good chance I'll pick it up. Love Ryan Adams music big time and have actually spotlighted him on one of my past videos. I know there has been some allegations against him, but I always separate the artist as a person and the artist as a musician/songwriter. Congrats on the grail finds, definitely worthwhile grail albums! Sparxx is another band that i have to get more familiar with. Great video as always. I hope your move goes smoothly.
Thank you for this sincere and kind comment! It means a lot to me that I've influenced a few people to give some of the lesser known or less appreciated artists a chance via a proper sampling or spin! I hope you enjoy the Waterboys as much as I am...especially this highlighted album! I agree regarding Ryan Adams. I still listen to him and enjoy his music immensely. Quite the artist. And buckle up if you're about to go on the Sparks exploration. They have so many worthwhile albums! I appreciate the well wishes on my upcoming move, too! Enjoy your night and thank you once again!
Thanks so very much. I need some good vibes for the move and I appreciate it! That Waterboys record definitely makes top 3 for this record show batch for me! Love this record! Rock on!
Hey, Hopefully you have a good listening spot at your new place. Good luck, and I'm looking forward to seeing some videos from the new home. Take Care, Frank
Greetings, Frank! I will have a full and dedicated music room at my new home! You'll have to settle for a few more videos from this ugly basement, though. I'll probably do a room tour when I'm fully moved in and organized/settled! Just won't be for a month or two! Cheers!
Looks like you had a good trip, Hanna - Kinks, Chromatics, Ringo Deathstarr all excellent pickups. I love when I can find things I'm not expecting at these shows but I totally get it about needing research time. congrats on the grails!
Hi Rando! How's it going? Knew you'd approve of some of this stack. Really dig this Ringo DS comp! Pretty killer! The record shows are the most fun! Not so much into the crowds but the dig and the surprises within! Keep on spinnin'!
Hello Hanna ツ Enjoyed your vinyl show and nice finds. There is one or two songs the come to my mind by the Chromatics that I got into back during the synth pop era, one being Tick Of The Clock. Some of their covers are really nice as well. The Dallas vinyl show looked interesting, thanks for sharing! I hope the move will go as smooth and stress free as possible, stay safe
Thanks for the kind words and hopeful vibes regarding my upcoming move. It is a slow move, this one, which is fine and I guess it makes it a bit less stressful not having a strict/set move date! Glad you enjoyed Chromatics as well. I do dig their covers a lot. Woo hoo, record shows are the best! Thanks so much for watching!
Hi Kevin! I'm so glad you were able to go to that Sparks show. Wow, super jealous! Thanks for sharing a few necessary tracks that they performed, too. Too awesome! I appreciate the comment!
Hi Alexander! Thanks for dropping a note. I definitely mix it up here and there. It's still all mostly rock, though! Hehe! Lots of love for the Waterboys. Can't wait to get more into the collection! Enjoy your Thursday!
Hi Hanna: Nice show haul! I know it can be stressful to pack up a collection. I hope that you have a blast setting up your new music room! Rock on! - Heather
Hey there, Heather! Happy Friday to you! I think we will do a bit more cleaning of the designated new music room this weekend and at least put the shelves against their final resting place! Moving is such a process! Hope you have a great weekend planned!
Hello Hanna; The move, 🧳 a work in progress. It will get better & work out fine. The record room looks stripped down. Nice footage from the Dallas record show. Looks like a big turnout. Some very good vinyl finds, John Fox, WaterBoys, Sparks, Bob Marley, Ryan Adams, The Kinks. Finding LP's that are needed for the collection is what counts. Enjoy the music. Regardless of pressing. We know easier said than done. Good that you found grails from the list. Take care, Tina & Pat!~
Greetings, Tina and Pat! Yes, the move is definitely a work and progress and slow! The footage I obtained that you saw of the show was still the early bird crowd. Very decent turnout! We were out by the time the General admission crowd rolled in. Still gonna work on cleaning this Sparks Kimono again. Wish me luck! :-)
Hey there! You picked a bunch of my faves. You know my love for The Waterboys. I was spinning that record two days ago. That was my intro into them in the 90’s because Toad The wet sprocket would cover the song Spirit at their shows. I still love Ryan Adams even with the controversy. Nice pick up there. Lola is my favorite Kinks record. So happy that you found a nice clean copy of that. Great to see you, Brian☘️
Hey Brian! Certainly great to hear from you! Yes, I remember you are a huge fan of the Waterboys! I remember you showing Fisherman's Blues in a video. That one I'm after next! And I still love Ryan Adams' music too even though he may be a d*#k. It's still brilliant art. I had no idea Lola is your favorite Kinks LP! Very cool! 🙌🏻😃 Thanks so much for checking out my finds from the show! Catch ya later!
Arthur, Village Green, Lola. Such a great period for The Kinks. I picked up the 50th anniversary boxsets as they came out and they're loaded. I love Kaya. I've probably played it more than any other Bob album. "Is this Love?" is probably overplayed but I'm not tired of it yet. Looking at the sleeve and vinyl, I would have bought Kimono too🎎.☮
Hi Robert! Were the Kinks box sets you picked up CD or vinyl sets? I'll have to look into those. I feel the same way about "Is This Love." Yes, upon visual inspection, this copy of Kimono is primo. Gonna give it another clean and see if it helps with surface noise. Fingers crossed! Thanks for chiming in as always, Robert!
Wow your videos always bring back such memories for me( as music always does i think),i remember buying that Waterboys album This Is The Sea when it came out, these albums i had on on a loop back in 1985 Husker Du - New Day Riskng 10,000 Maniacs- Human Conflict no 5 R.E.M. Fables Of The Reconstruction The Minutemen- Project Mersh Great memories, best wishes to you Hanna.
Hey Kelly! Hope you had a fabulous weekend! So glad that my videos stir up some good memories for you. I definitely love your music taste. And you reminded me that I need to get some Minutemen in my collection pronto! :-)
Cold Roses is my favorite Ryan Adams album and, coincidentally, I just listened to Kaya a few days ago. Great finds here and best of luck on your move!!
It appears we are on the same wavelength! Kaya is the perfect Friday record and I'm playing it again this evening! I appreciate you wishing me luck on my move, although I'm still not sure when that will be! Be well!
Aloha Hannah, Great Selection of record albums that you purchased at the Dallas Show. Wow, I didn't know Sparks was getting popular. I recall having that lp Kimono My House in 1974, at that time ,the music wasn't for me. Most of that time period I bought used record albums mostly demos, from a consignment shop. It was a blind buy thought the cover looked cool. I need to revisted that lp. Thanks again for the info on your Purchases. Looking forward to see your next video. Mahalo Ed
Aloha, Ed! Hope all is well and groovy. Sparks are pretty popular now and the documentary really propelled them to another level! Hope you are able to revisit Kimono and the other fabulous LPs of theirs from that era. Brilliant band! Thanks for saying hi and sharing your thoughts! See you next time!
First time I heard of Sparks was from the movie Rollercoaster 1977. One of my favorite movies ever. The Sparks' Kimono My House grail album you bought is worth any price!
Hey there! I still need to see that Rollercoaster film! And yes, what an album Kimono My House is. I just need to see if it be cleaned up some more because this copy is noisy! Take care!
I hit pause to check out Chromatics Hey Hey. A hint of the emptiness of Under the Milky Way is in that song. Waterboys' Fisherman's Blues is a favorite. I wish I was a fisherman, tumblin' on the Seas. Thanks Hannah!
My eyes are peeled for Fisherman's Blues and I hope I find it next! So glad you were able to listen to Into the Black by Chromatics. So haunting and eerie, right? What a well done cover. Enjoy the rest of your night and thanks for sharing your thoughts as always!
Hello Hanna-Always a great day when a new Omaha Introvert video magically appears! Glad the Dallas Record Show was a successful venture. Now that your Kinks collection is complete here's a rare track I wonder if you've heard? I was blown away to find Little Women (backing track) on the deluxe cd version o' Something Else. A Beatlesque instrumental with mellotron, like an outtake from Magical Mystery Tour! Best wishes from John.
Hello there, John! Ah, I have that deluxe CD version of Something Else by the Kinks. In fact, it's the only deluxe CD version I have of any Kinks album and I love that instrumental track as well. Great mention! Enjoy the rest of your week. Thanks for the comment as always!
Hey Chester! Yes, I think overpaying at some point in the hobby is something that can't be avoided...especially in a situation like a record show when often you have to make a split-second decision, hehe! I just hope I can be a little more careful next time. So happy to hear from you again! Peace.
If you love Sparks, good you got the album. That cover is in excellent condition and you may find another copy with great vinyl and poor cover and interchange into NM media/sleeve. I have done that a bunch of times with my grails. Always happy when we get a new OI video. Thanks Hannah. (PS: just picked up reissue of Ride OX4 compilation. Sounds unbelievable. Shoegaze 4 ever!)
Hi J J! Yes, isn't this Kimono jacket glorious?! I will clean the vinyl again and see if that helps. If not, interchanging is definitely something I will consider! Nice score on OX4 by Ride. I have a copy on red vinyl. Killer band and yes, shoegaze 4evaaaaa!
Glad you found those Ultravox! Island reissues and enjoy them. I’ve all my original Foxx solo albums from the ‘80s including Golden Section - always had a soft spot for the Zeus B Held production. Recommend John Foxx and the Maths “Howl”most Ultravox! Like album he’s put out.
Indiscreet is great! A wide variety of styles and The final part of their UK trilogy of awesomeness ..Kimono My House, Propaganda, Indiscreet, before they broke up the band and moved back to the States. I was lucky to see em live on that tour. You’re so right, since the excellent Sparks Bros doc there’s been so much interest.. new tour, records, everything. They are ageless and timeless. Enjoy it, and the rest of your new stack, Hanna.
Hi Michael! Agree 100% with everything you said here regarding Sparks! So jealous you got to see them live back in the day! That trilogy is indeed special and I'm so glad to own all of those now! Hope you are enjoying some great tunes this week! Thanks for chiming in!
Hi Hanna, As always great finds. Sparks were ahead of their time, very unique. Also dig The Kinks. Ray Davies could tell a story in a 3 minute song with an eye for detail. That Chromatics album 'Kill For Love' is the only one I owe from them and love it, so I need to check out more Chromatics. In the background noticing Joni and The triffids was a real eyecatcher. The Triffids are shamefully forgotten. The opening track of their 'Born Sandy Devotional' album 'The Seabirds' had still has a huge emotional impact on me. David McComb, who died too young, also made a fine solo debut album 'Love Of Will'. Enjoy your music.
Greetings, Danny! The Davies' brothers definitely had an overabundance of talent! I now need to check out more Chromatics, too. I love that you caught the Triffids LP in the back. People with exceptional music taste notice that! Consider it a hint for a future video! And sad that McComb died so young. I've really been on a Triffids kick but I will surely check out that debut solo album of his you mentioned. Have a wonderful night!
My favorite early Sparks album, Indiscreet. Probably I would say my favorite Kinks album as well... Strangers is the greatest Kinks song! Great Lost Kinks Album - that was hard to find even in the 90s when I got it - but it’s all on the VGPS deluxe CD. Kimono is so good.
Hey Kris. Very cool that your favorite Sparks and Kinks LPs were contained in this video! As always, I dig your music taste! Oh, now I'm gonna be after the Kinks VGPS deluxe CD set. Already have the Something Else deluxe set. Hope all is well on the farm!
A recent subscriber. Your rock genre videos are great. My vote for best Sparks album is Sparks in outer space. You have mentioned: the Saints, the Church, Hoodoo Gurus, DM3 as great australian power pop bands but, so far, i have not heard you talk about Died Pretty. Among the finest bands i have ever listened to!
Sparks in outer space. I just plain forgot about that! I wore out the cassette back in "the day". I had no idea they had such a big discography. Will have to do some research. Thanks!
Hey John! First off, thank you for subscribing! Glad you've enjoyed my genre focus videos! I'll be sampling Sparks in Outer Space. Haven't gotten to that one yet! You may be the 2nd or 3rd person to mention Died Pretty. I may have seen one of their records on our recent trip but I simply didn't grab it because I'm still unfamiliar with their material. What do you recommend I start with from them? And there is an Australian bands appreciation video in the works. It'll be one of the videos I film after my move! ☺️🇦🇺
WOW! A personal response and very quickly. Thank you. My two favourite albums are Trace and Doughboy Hollow. You have introduced me to 5 or 6 very good bands that i never knew before and i lived through the era.
You bet, John! I try to be as responsive as I can. I don't always get notifications on new replies, though, so if I miss any, I do apologize! Thanks so much for the Died Pretty recommendations. I shall enjoy sampling on Apple Music later! Enjoy your evening!
That’s still a great version of the the Kinks Lola. And that orange was the original label for that LP as it came out after Reprise changed from the Steamboat label. Nice find. Good Sparks pickup Kimona is my favorite. Moving 😎
Hey Mazzy! Pretty awesome that Kimono My House is your favorite Sparks LP! Thanks for the info on the Reprise labels. I also have a '76 repress of Village Green that I think sounds pretty darn great. Glad you were able to attend that Seattle show!
Sparks, a bit of Queen and a little Roxy Music maybe. Totally their own thing though. That's the beauty of Sparks. I found my copy of "Kimono" at a Goodwill for a buck. It was the only rock record on the racks at the time. Weird... I have trouble with the The Waterboys too. I'll give that record a listen. ( I prefer World Party ) Thank you for another fun/great video. I look forward to everyone of them.
Yes, totally agree on a little Roxy Music thrown into Sparks' sound as well, but yes, Sparks stand on their own and are very original. I'm jealous you found a copy of Kimono My House for $1 at a Goodwill. Our Goodwill stores here just don't turn anything like that up. Other cities I hear are much better for Goodwill surprises. I think you'd be pleased with this Waterboys record. It's pretty amazing! Thank you for the positive comments on this video. So glad you enjoyed! Take care.
cool pickups per usual hanna. i gotta look into that waterboys album. i've always loved "whole of the moon" but don't think i've ever heard anything else by them. agree 100% on kaya.
Thanks, Steve! Hope you are well on this lovely Friday! I hope you are able to sample this Waterboys album in its entirety. Sure is a glorious one! What a band. See you next time!
''On this road trip due to the inflation the rising gas prices you all have been feeling it. Pretty much all countries have been feeling it.'' It's true and here in Brazil it was no different. Here in São Paulo there's a fair of vinyl records and CDs in a brewery called ''Tarantino.'' Yep, it's in honor of the famous Hollywood director. Joni Mitchell-Blue (1971) behind Hanna. Great finds! Best of luck with your move. Until next time and rock on! ✌🚗🚘🎼🎵🎶
Hey Alen! Rock on and thanks for showing up here; means a lot! The inflation really has affected nearly everyone. Such a bummer. That's really need regarding the brewery called Tarantino. Sounds like it would be fun to attend the fair there! Keep on spinning the tunes and enjoying life!
Great finds at the show! Lola Vs Powerman is the last really great Kinks album (In my opinion) The Great Lost Kinks Album is amazing BTW I cant believe the prices of vinyl today (but I bought some of those old records back in the old days from 5 or 6 bucks each so what do I know} Also some records had bad pressings back then so they might look clean but pressed on crappy vinyl
Hi, Al! Great to see you chime in on my channel again! Hope all is well. Your shock about the prices of vinyl nowadays is legit. Vinyl is too expensive and I love this hobby, but the inflation is out of control. And yes, I hope I can find the Great Lost Kinks album! Agreed on your opinion regarding Lola being the last amazing Kinks album. I'm gonna clean this copy of Kimono again and see if that helps. If it doesn't help then that's a bummer! Cheers and enjoy the rest of your week!
I had a bunch of Sparks and sold them cheap. I had a bunch of Bob Marley but sold them too. That was a while ago. I sold some Marley to Steve Carlson back before the flood. They are all history now. I started selling more records as you can tell if you watch any of Steve's videos lately. Selling lots of stuff, furniture, antiques ect.
Hello Hanna glad you love the waterboys, their first album is also very good, the chromatics are great-you can see them in the third season of twin peaks-great you find some holy grails-i wish you the best .
Hi Patrick! Thanks for checking out this video and leaving a comment. I do appreciate it! I'm on a Waterboys journey now. Really loving them! Glad you enjoyed the records I showed in this video! Until next time...
Hey Hanna, moving is always a nightmare so I am sure that I am speaking for everyone when I say it is wonderful that you are still taking the time to continue to make videos in the middle of such a hassle. I thought that the tri-color Reprise label was gone by 1970, but I could definitely be wrong. Nuce finds as always and great to see you. Take care...
Greetings, Tim! Always great to hear from you. Yeah, luckily I can still film videos in the midst of my moving chaos. The move is slow and that is probably why I can continue kicking out some content! I think next on the to-do list is to order two more IKEA Kallax record shelves! Hope all is well!
Hello Again 👋 Hanna - Like that Triffids album behind you .. On Island 🏝 Records. That John Foxx is a bit of a dud but Sitting At The Edge Of The World is a great song. This Is The Sea is a classic album with The Pan Within & Trumpets 🎺 being my favorite tracks. Love Siouxsie & The Banshees cover of This Town Isn't Big Enough .. That Kinks album is 4 🌟 ! Good 👁. You will be able to get Metamatic fairly quickly as it sold well on import. Look for that orange JEM sticker. 👋
Always loved through the looking glass. For the longest time I thought the album was original material, minus you're lost little girl. Siouxsie made it work though, one of my favorites.
Hey David! Glad you noticed the Triffids LP in the back. Precursor for a future video! ☺️ Fingers crossed that I find the better John Foxx LPs in the future! Heck yes on Siouxsie's cover of "This Town Ain't Big Enough..." And you reminded me that I still need to track down a copy of that covers LP! Their cover of "This Wheel's On Fire" is another favorite from that set. So good. Your taste is worthy of praise, as always! Enjoy your night!
Thanks for the interest on my moving process! I will try to document some of it for a video. Some of it is sloppy, AKA some of the boxes are a little too big for the purpose, but no one will be handling my record boxes except for me. No moving company for this move!
@@TheOmahaIntrovert liquor Store boxes work really well. The lps fit snugly and the boxes are small enough to not get too heavy. If you ask a day or two ahead they will usually put the boxes aside. It saves the store from flattening them and throwing in the dumpster.
There are some LP's pressed in Germany that have video on them therefore you need a RIAA Preamp with a Raspberry Pi IV built in and decodes the video and would output to a TV via the Composite video port.
Tryna catch up on watching everyones videos over the past 2 months, and I finally stumbled across yo' azz ;-) I have that John Foxx record and I don't think I've listened to it in 15 years. Wow, I would have thought that you definitely already had that Waterboys LP in your library. Congrats... it's a great record. That's my second favorite Sparks record (first one you showed). Wanna hear something funny?... just last month I was with Earle Mankey who used to be in the band and wrote and produced a lot of their material; I was in his studio discussing having him co-produce something that I maybe woriking on. Sparks are awesome. I really love the Chromatics. I actually got into them because they reminded me of an L.A. based Indie Synth Pop band that i've been following for years called "Canons" They were independent for soooo long and just got signed to Columbia and so their physical media is taking forever to surface (Columbia is lagging), and so all their music on in digital file putting out files, but you would love them (you're not already familiar) - I'll leave a couple of links below; tell me what you think. By the way, you can try a wood glue treatment on the Sparks record and I promise you it'll more than likely work like a charm - won't hurt the record. Glad you did great at the record show - TONE Cannons "Talk Talk" ua-cam.com/video/SXF-Eu8XwC8/v-deo.html Cannons "Backwards" ua-cam.com/video/btKFaixXjDQ/v-deo.html
I'm glad you enjoyed the record show. This Is The Sea is my favorite Waterboys album with Fisherman's Blues a close second. This Is The Sea rocks more. Needless to say, they are one of my favorites. I hardly ever find Sparks records in Kansas City as well. I'm glad you got your two grails and those are albums I am looking for too even if the conditions were not what your were hoping for. Happy listening.
Hi Randy! Hope all is well! Yes, Fisherman's Blues..high on the want list for me next! This is the Sea does rock...more than I expected it would! Are there any upcoming record shows in KC? Maybe there was one recently. Take care!
@@TheOmahaIntrovert I just checked to see if there are any upcoming record shows in Kansas City and it already happened a couple of weeks ago. Oh well. I see there are some in St. Louis and one in Ames, IA. I don't know if you have been to either of those as I haven't. Fisherman's Blues is a kind of a change in direction as they embrace their Scottish roots and incorporate some Celtic music as well. Cheers.
Definitely avoid the Ames one. It was mostly stereo equipment and only maybe 5 record vendors. We attended it last year. Would love to go to the St. Louis one! 👍🏻👍🏻😊
I know what you mean about moving your collection. Last year we removed our carpets and replaced it with hard floors. Everything had to be moved out of the house. The only difference between moving is; you just put everything back basically where it was before. It was a month of not listening to my records. Nice haul. Yes, that Water Boys album is a great one. Sometimes, one cleaning isn’t enough. Try it again and see if there’s any improvement. Sometimes some records just gather static more than others too. Why? I don’t know.
Ouch! A month of not listening to your record must have hurt! I don't know exactly when I'll be moving out of here but I still have a setup to enjoy. I just hate the records not being in the shelves! Thanks for your suggestion on cleaning the Sparks record again. I will try that and see if it helps.
‘Whole Of The Moon’ became adopted by House Music DJ’s over in the U.K. in the early nineties as the final track at 3AM as it has a euphoric quality..my favourite track of theirs is ‘Fisherman’s Blues’ which I discovered at a really difficult period in my life & really helped me get through some tough times. I’ve got Kimono My House somewhere here!
Hey there! Great to see you here again. Hope you were able to find your copy of Kimono! One to never get rid of! And Whole of the Moon...definitely the perfect closer to a fun night out! Fisherman's Blues is very high on my want list now! Many mentions of it. Hope I track it down soon!
Excellent video as always that John Foxx album there is ok endlessly is one of my favourites the waterboys this is the sea is one of my favorite albums of the waterboys don't bang the drum is one of the most amazing opening tracks also I highly recommend the waterboys 1983 debut album it's brilliant I as well have found some grails to the first one I found at my local store it was a Canadian band from my youth platinum blondes 1987 album contact and the other 2 I found yesterday at my local sunrise records and it was little Stevens revolution and born again savage he's my favorite artist at the moment basically Steven Van Zandt is pure rock funk and soul worth checking out so take care and happy hunting
Good evening, George. Always nice to see a note from you. I totally agree that Don't Bang on the Drum is one of the best opening tracks! I'll check out Waterboys debut album based on your recommendation as well, thanks! Glad you have been having luck finding some grails yourself. So exciting when that happens! Keep on collecting, my friend!
@@TheOmahaIntrovert hopefully I'll be finding more stuff in April I'll be able to go to my flea market in mid April oh yes do check out that first waterboys album it's not as immediate as this is the sea and it'll take a few listens to take it all in but sample gala, it should've been you, December and the three minute man from the album if you like those tracks than you'll like the debut until next time
Hi, Some great albums you got there. Waterboys are epic. Another classic album you might like is Cactus world news , urban beaches. Irish guitar band. Happy hunting.
Hi there, Paul! I appreciate the additional Irish band recommendation. New to me. You all are a wealth of information and fantastic suggestions! Enjoy the weekend!
Hanna, killer pick ups from the record show. Hate you gotta move all your collection. Such a pain, but you will be moved and set up before you know it. Peace ☮️ Namaste 🙏 the Zonkman
Hi Steve! Thanks so much for checking out my Dallas Record show finds! We had a blast. It does suck moving a collection but I have a nice new room for all of it! I still have to figure out CD storage though. Take care, my friend!
Had to return to this after watching it earlier. Loved the intro footage of the show. I am betting some of the dealers also hit the bimonthly Houston show. They do early bird ticketing to which for an additional five dollars gets you in an hour earlier and there's always about 200 people in for early ticketing. After that hour passes though, it gets to be elbow to elbow which I hate so if I hit the show, I always do the early bird. So cool to see the RIngo Deathstarr. That one totally escaped me completely and it's always cool to see a cover from a band you thought you've seen everything. I know you have spoken highly of the Waterboys before and I'll have to check them out. I honestly don't know if I have heard anything they have done before. The Sparks...yeah, very hard to find. I have encountered a few of their records down here but they are hard to find. I am surprised you didn't have Kimono My House. That's probably the only one I have encountered in the wild. They have a 4 LP box set coming out this month or next month which is supposed to pair with the documentary. Nice to see you score the Ryan Adams but I have a hard time separating the artist from the music after something like that. Ahhh...The Chromatics..I am so glad you picked it up. I am usually a fan of whatever comes out on the Italians Do It Better label which is run by Johnny Jewel. The lead for the Chromatics. I picked up Kill For Love close to when it debuted. The Kinks...they have so many records and I thought you had that one. Is there a particular era you like for the Kinks?
Hey Paul! Looks like the Houston show is coming up soon - the 10th I believe. Are you going this time around? You should! Yep, we always try to do early bird because if they open at 8, we are usually done by 10 when the general admission crowd hits and it's so worth it to get up and go early. We're trying to plan our next record show road trip. Yes, this Ringo Deathstarr comp is worth it. I found a link to where it can be purchased. Apparently the reissues are still in circulation. Oh, please check out The Whole of the Moon by Waterboys as your intro! Simply amazing tune! I think Sparks have an Island years record box set out, but it's over $300 I think. I should have known that you already had Chromatics Kill for Love! I've wanted it for a while so it was a very nice surprise to see a used copy there at the show for $15! Nope, I didn't have Lola by the Kinks until I found it at this show. It has always been an elusive one for me to track down for some reason. My favorite era of the Kinks is their 1966-1970 period starting with Face to Face up to Lola. You?
"You want the falsetto? You can't handle the falsetto!!!" Nice acquisitions! This is the Sea is colossal. I'm going to keep an eye out for that Ringo Deathstarr comp. Speaking of shoegaze, Avalyn are a new band from Liverpool that you might like. They just released a single on UA-cam. Hopefully more to come from them soon.
Hi Peter! Your opening quoted statement cracked me up! Looks like you can get a copy of RD's Sparkler comp here: www.peppermintdaydreamrecords.com/store/ringo-deathstarr-sparkler-vinyl-cass I'm off to sample Avalyn after I respond to a few more comments. Thanks so much for the recommendation. I have been neglecting new stuff out of the shoegaze genre lately. Cheers!
Hi Hanna Really enjoyed your show, going to the Record Show. We have one coming up in April, here in Ann Arbor. And I'm looking forward to attending. Like a lot of your viewers, I've had that Waterboys album since the 80s and love it. You know by now that I like shoe gaze, so that Ringo Death Starr peaked my interest. Not heard of them. I like Ride and MBV especially, so I'll look for RDS. And Bob Marley find was great. Can't go wrong with him. I look forward to your next road show from Big D and Tulsa record stores..thanks again and I hope your move goes smoothly. Mark in MI
Greetings, Mark! Looks like Ann Arbor would be a 10-hour drive for us, but I bet that record show will be fun! I'd like to head that direction someday as I've never been. Oh man, definitely check out Ringo Deathstarr. In fact, their last studio album from 2020 was my favorite of that year. It's just self-titled. So very good! I think you will be pleased with their sound given you dig MBV and Ride! I'll try to post the Dallas/Tulsa record store tour video next week ! Thanks so much for being here!
Yes ive had that happen with used lps looking fantastic and then you play it and its filled with surface noise. I believe this is caused by those ultra sonic cleaners. They literally polish the surface and do actually help clean the record as well. But at the end of the day they can’t undo damage but they sure can cover it up! They leave the surface in a polished like state. Given the opportunity whenever u see something like that try and give it a spin. If it looks to good to be true. It is!
Moving with a large record collection is total pain in the..... I did that 12yrs ago when I had about 8.000+ LP''s, I swore I would never move again, however I'm just about to do the same only this time its about 12,000+LP's. Interesting selection of records.
You got that right, Peter! This is the first time I will be moving an out-of-control media collection. I didn't have this many records before..well, now I do and it will hurt! Lol. Oh man, you have 12,000 LPs? Killer collection...just don't kill your back!
Hi - nice finds; John "Metal Beat" Foxx - Glorious - "Pan Within" - Awesome song & lyrics IMHO the best one from Scott - Sparks = Genius Ev'ry LPs are worth having - my favorite LP is, as I mention earlier, "Woofer ;) "Town" is my favorite song by The Mael Bros - THE KINKS - LOLA APEMAN
Greetings, Terje! Hope you are enjoying the week! Yes, the Pan Within is so good. And Exodus is my favorite Bob Marley LP! I treasure that one as well. I highly enjoy a Woofer in Tweeter's Clothing from the great Sparks as well! You have epic taste! :-)
Hi Hanna, You got some great stuff. The Waterboys I don't think I've seen on vinyl. Sparks is a good find. I found 2 of their LPs at...Goodwill a few months ago along with Ultravox. Had no idea you were a Sparks fan or I'd have saved them for you. Love Bob Marley. I clean all my records before I play them for the first time as well. I've got probably 50 I need to clean. Ugh. Sounds like you had a really fantastic time at the Dallas record show. Looking forward to the next video of your record store visits! I have been to some record stores in Tulsa as well. ~ Nicola
Nicola, hey! Oh, that's so cool that you found Sparks at Goodwill. That would have been a dream. If you ever stumble onto a clean US copy of Kimono My House, do let me know! I still have the Iron Maiden and Rush! I think I have about 50 LPs I still need to clean, too. Sometimes I procrastinate with that. Great to hear you've been to Tulsa. I was really pleased with the stores we stopped in there! Enjoy the rest of your night!
@@TheOmahaIntrovert I will keep my eyes peeled for "Kimono My House." I know you're dealing with moving and packing so when you get ready, let me know about the IM and Rush. The Tulsa stores I visited back in the '90s. I have no idea if they are still around or their names. I'm happy to hear you were digging the Tulsa record shops. Can't wait to see what you found. Take care!
I was not ignoring you. I was not being rude. I was too busy digging for albums!! You see, I was at the Dallas Record show too!! I am actually in the background of your video! I was very overwhelmed by how many vendors were there and the variety; so much to look at!!! In case you didn't see the small flyers there, the next show in Dallas will be at a different location and at a bigger venue! Saturday October 22, 2022... Glad you guys made it down...
Hey Kenneth! Oh, very cool you were also at the Dallas show. Right on! What a fantastic show it was. I wish I had found more 80s titles that were on my want list, but it was great for my 70s wants, that's for sure! That's pretty exciting that the show will be at a bigger venue in October. I doubt we'll make it down there again for that one. We plan on attending 2 more shows in the next two months. woo hoo! I appreciate the comment! Rock on!
Hi Hannah Don't envy your move, I've done that a couple of times last few years..quite the hassle..hope it all works out for you. Some nice pick ups. Indiscreet is my favourite Sparks album..my brother made me buy it off him back in the 70s and I've loved it ever since. Amazing Tony Visconti production and not a bad song..the lyrics show that they are clearly fascinated with the eccentricities and humour of archaic English culture and it really shows on this record. Kimono is flawless, but I love Propaganda almost as much. This is the Sea is a fabulous record..as you say, pretty raw emotion with Mike Scott, love the title track on that one. Lovely Kinks Lola copy..This Time Tomorrow, such a great song. UK first presses of their 60s and early 70s catalogue are crazy expensive and I mainly have represses.
Thanks for the well wishes about my move, Rob! Since I've moved so frequently the past ten years, I don't accumulate much large furniture anymore. The heaviest things I have now are the record boxes, hehe! Great to hear that Indiscreet is your fave from Sparks. Makes me excited to finally sit down and spin that one this week. Agreed that Propaganda is also terrific. No. 1 In Heaven might be my favorite so far, though. I mainly have represses of a lot of 60s LPs, too. Since I'm not as deep into collecting that era anymore, represses are a-okay. Except for the Byrds. I had to have originals of those earlier albums, and I believe I have OGs of the first five except Notorious Byrd Bros. Great to hear from you!
Amazing haul, Hanna! That Waterboys LP is fantastic, although I am a tad more partial to Fisherman's Blues myself. Great score with that Kinks too, that's a very tough one to find in good shape and for a reasonable price.
oh, and as a side note: I have had TERRIBLE luck with UK pressings from the 70's. Many many super clean albums from that era from the UK absolutely suck, a TON of surface noise, and no matter how many times I put them through the ultrasonic cleaner they still sound awful.
Thanks, Ian! Hope your week is going well. It is tough to find a copy of Kinks' Lola in excellent shape, so I'm happy. The price I'm not sure was that great, but nice to finally own it. I'm on the hunt for Fisherman's Blues next. I'll be so excited if I come across a copy for an acceptable price!
Early ultravox with fox is great, got fisherman blues with the waterboys. Early Bob marley is hard to find these days. Interesting album pickup for me the honeymoon killers ep frm 91.
Hi Shayne! Yes, I love those first few Ultravox LPs. So damn good! I'll be hunting for Fisherman's Blues next from Waterboys. I'll have to look up the Honeymoon Killers. Hope all is well and thanks for watching!
Nice additions! That Waterboys record is a grail for me too. I like hearing about grails of other collectors that I've been lucky enough to have found, such as the Kinks Lola vs Powerman. But I still have big holes in my Kinks collection! My biggest overall problem is that I sometimes don't check condition enough. I missed the Dallas show, but you mentioned Waco....there's a pretty good record store there called Spin Collection...is that what your friend runs? There's decent store in Bryan/College Station too called Curious Collections, if you're ever back in Texas.
Good morning! Oh yes, I've mentioned Spin Connection probably several times by now. I have a buddy named Jess that helps run the store and he goes through their inventory. He lets me know if any Sparks records have come in and we have done plenty of awesome trades. Alisha is also very nice there! We were able to visit the store early last year. Not sure when we'll be back in Texas, but it's fun to visit when we can. Would love to check out Colorado next. Peace!
hey hanna, THX for your answer! if you are really unhappy with the bad sounding LP, take them with you to the next fair, maybe you can negotiate something... ...you like foxx and chromatics - please check out the 'minimal wave' label from NYC, they re-released some very hard to find 80's synth-stuff, mostly sold out but dip in and if you spot an item on a convention, grab it :-)
Hi Mike! Thanks for the recommendation to check out the Minimal Wave label. Sounds like their releases may be up my alley! And we are already planning our next record show trip! Be well!
Hi Ilija! I always like seeing you pop up here! Oh, so very jealous you found a Jugoton pressing of Kimono for a cheap price! Lucky you! The price I paid for mine was definitely one of the biggest mistakes I've ever made with this hobby. Oh well. Thanks for saying hi as always! Hope you are well!
It looks like your trip was successful . If for no other reason than picking up that Waterboys album . It's a great one . My favourite track is Old England . Hey , we all make mistakes when buying music , but it seems to me that you haven't made very many mistakes . More importantly you have many more great finds , which minimise the impact of the occasional error . Fortunately , I seem to have similar luck when it comes to purchases . Anyway , a great collection , and I look forward to investigating the Chromatics album . Thanks for the recommendations !!!
Hey there, John! Hope all is well with you. True, I guess I haven't made too many mistakes with this hobby. I don't seem to learn though as far as quantity every month. I simply just need to slow down. Glad you have a strong love and appreciation for this Waterboys' LP, too. Your favorite track deserves all the praise! Hope you enjoy several tunes from this Chromatics album! See you next time!
@@TheOmahaIntrovert Yes , I really like the Chromatics version of Into the Black . The other tracks sound good as well . I look forward to your next video . Thanks .
I gave sparks a shot. Kimono. i like glam. Bowie, Roxy Music, T-Rex. It did not grab me. I learned of them recently. "The greatest band you never heard of", the Edgar Wright documentary. I was left at a loss. Have to give them another shot. I downloaded like 12 of there albums.
The Kimono Sparks album UK press is an extremely loud cut. I've had 2 copies of this and they always seem to distort due to the loud (too loud) EQ. This could be your issue re the surface noise.
Hi George. Thanks for sharing that insight on this Kimono UK press. Pretty disappointing distortion. I will clean it a second time to see if it helps at all. If not, I shall look for a US press perhaps. Take care!
Hey Hanna, glad you got the trip in in spite of the big gas price increases. If nothing you'll remember the trip for that in years to come. Well, that and the grails :) Ps great seeing Calenture up the back there!! Thank you for the Foxx tip - stick with the first two solo to start (quick side note, my friends had a band called Foxx on Fire about 12-15 years ago, named after John Foxx - and he chose them to open for him on one of his shows here as well!) Don't see that Marley around often, you're right. Wow! Great Kinks grail, one I'd happily grab when I find it. Love that Island label, great work again on the second grail. UK First press, too! I hate when the visual grading lies to you like that, it does happen from time to time. Excellent, looking forward to the next bit of the travelogue Hanna. Ps Commiserations on moving :( Cheers- Dean
Hey there, Dean! Great to hear from ya again! It was a great trip. Expensive, yes, but some nice memories made and fab wax picked up, as you saw! ☺️ That's really neat about your friend's band Foxx on Fire! Definitely pleased with this Kinks pickup! I hope you find a copy this year. Have you been able to do any digging lately? We haven't seen you in a while! Cheers, Dean!
Hi hanna I get how you feel about paying too much and getting carried away at time not been able to research it properly. I too have fallen foul of seeing sparks records a month ago I went into a used vinyl shop I know well and he had several sparks records I wanted about 6 of them and heavy price tags I talked him down quite abit and thought I had a good deal on checking Discogs at home later found I had over paid on several but I’m happy I have them as you don’t see originals very often here. That waterboys album is a classic I need to find a copy . Great video hanna take care joe
Hey there, again, Joe! Thanks so much for the comments. I truly appreciate them. I'm glad you got some Sparks LPs into your collection, but they are indeed so pricy now. Seems it can't be avoided. I hear the reissues from 2018 or so are very good quality. So that's another option for any you are missing. :-)
@@TheOmahaIntrovert hi hanna yeah can’t be avoided and thanks il look into reissues as they come out as extras on them too I believe. Love the channel you have very interesting pick ups you get not all my taste but mostly you find things I’d be into . Have you checked out Orlando weeks new album? It’s very good . . Thanks for reply. Take care joe
Girl. Didn’t know you were from Texas. Till last year I have been flying to Dallas since 1989. 1/2 price book stores Use to be my favorite haunt. Now Josey Records and Forever Records are my go to places. Still go downtown to 1/2 price’s big store
I'm not from Texas! We just took a little road trip down there! ;-) Stay tuned for the next video because I showcase Josey Records. I didn't like Forever Young Records. We went there last time and in my opinion it's very overpriced.
@@TheOmahaIntrovert I texted before I got through video which I usually do. Just me. It’s been 4-5 years since been To Forever. They were high then but the selection was awesome. Josey is probably twice the size now since I have been To it. They had just gotten access to rest of building and had bought Bill’s Records estate. He had warehouses of records At one time. Bill was a funny guy, as he didn’t have prices on his records. You brought them up to him, he would pull it Out and give you a price.
Josey was jaw dropping for me. You'll see that I filmed a little segment and I'll share in the next video, and it's really an incredible size. Yes, in the middle of the store they had bins of "Bill's Records." Pretty neat! I was able to find a Tom Verlaine LP (bit of a spoiler) for $5 in his section!
@@TheOmahaIntrovert I spent several hundred dollars two years ago there. I want to go back to Dallas but work is messed up so probably another year away. Can’t wait for the video
Hey, Omaha.... How ya feelin?.... Congrats on The Kinks find there.... Misfits, Sleepwalker, and Low Budget form one of the "great trilogy records" in rock history...Perhaps a future thread for you to explore?..... Anyway, always looking forward to more of your videos! ... Keep being you and Take Care, Ghostrider Rick
Hi Richard! All is well here. Just been a busy bee! I think a great thread indeed would be great trilogy records. Awesome idea ! I get pretty brilliant ideas from my viewers! Always appreciate the input and the discussion. Enjoy the rest of your night. :-)
seconded, Surely "Low budget" is the last GREAT kinks album, although the following two are also strong. And Sleepwalker is one of the best kinks albums hands down. the early stuff is great too! Kinks got a lot of great albums
Good morning Hana! Maybe find someone with an ultrasonic cleaner. I sure wish I had one. I have a few albums that look great but are noisy. Good luck with your move. Cheers! 😄
Hi Darcy. I appreciate you watching and leaving a comment! A viewer has offered to clean some of my records with the ultrasonic so I'm considering that. Positive vibes for my move - thank you!
Chromatics are so good and that’s their best album. If you get a chance to see them live do so! Also I had that Sparks album cued up for tomorrow Instagram post. Great pick ups!
Hey Nick! Agreed that this is the best Chromatics LP. I'm not sure if they ever tour around here, but I'd love to see them. I'll check your IG for Sparks Kimono! Rad! Thanks for stopping by as always!
Vinyl shows just started up again this past weekend, where I live, after a two year shutdown. I didn't go, not because of covid, but because I know I would not find any music that I listen to now. When I was going to vinyl shows I was lucky to have a flea market friend who would be at every show. He had incredible knowledge on vinyl record pressings and would always advise me if records I wanted were priced fairly. He would also tell me to buy albums that I knew nothing about because he knew they were collectable and were priced well below what they were worth. BTW, when I was a teen my friend was a big Sparks fan and had every one of their records. I did not like the band very much.
Ah yes, having that knowledgable friend for record shows would be very helpful indeed! Yeah, since you like a lot of newer indie releases at the moment, record shows don't really deliver for that, so I understand. You'd probably enjoy Ringo Deathstarr and/or Chromatics that I showed here. Sorry you don't like Sparks! Definitely not for everyone! Hope you're having an excellent week. Thanks for always being here!
Much love from Augusta Hanna.I also like the Kinks and Sparks.I'm listening to Xymox-Twist of Shadows today.Great vid as always Cheers
Hi there, Mark! Hope you had an enjoyable weekend! I only have the debut from Clan of Xymox but I need to check out their other work! Thanks again for stopping by!
@@TheOmahaIntrovert You're welcomed
First In line at the record show ! Good Morning Hanna 🙋♂️ 🌞
Perfect! First indeed! Good morning, David!
Glad you had a great road trip. I really want to go to another record show soon but I’ll live vicariously through your video for now. Great finds!
Hehe, I can understand that. I think I'm addicted to going to the shows. I get my biggest rush from attending the record shows. It's going into the unknown and being surprised about what you find! Already looking up dates for the next one, hehe! Cheers and thanks for the comment!
Love the Waterboys. That is a great album.
Thanks for watching, Jamie! Yeah, this Waterboys LP is tops! So glad I picked it up! Enjoy the rest of your week!
If ya ever see “Fisherman’s Blues” it’s as good as the one ya got. With that big fat acoustic guitar sound they had.
@@TheOmahaIntrovert The title track gets me every time. Brilliant.
Looks like Dallas was a fruitful adventure. Congrats on the two grails. Looking forward to the next video. Rock on Hanna.
Hi Brian! Very fruitful indeed, as you can see. You're in Minneapolis, right? When is the next show up that way?! Rock on, as always!
@@TheOmahaIntrovert It's actually this weekend, but they moved it into Minneapolis and I don't like being there. The Fargo one in ND is usually in October. I plan to hit that one again.
Love Bob Marley, your knowledge of music always amazes me. Nice road trip Hannah, moving always sucks and is expensive.
Haha, that is a pretty entertaining memory you have there! Classic! What a stellar LP!
So you deserve them all~
Rob/Boston
Good morning, Rob! Oh, bummer you had to miss the Sparks show last night! I can only hope that I can catch them on tour before it's too late. I certainly hope your teeth surgery goes well this morning. That doesn't sound fun at all. In fact, sounds quite painful. I need to catch up on your latest video offering
Very cool you were gifted a copy of Kill for Love by Chromatics from a VC friend! This is the first time I had seen a copy in the wild. The record shows are so exciting! Take care and get some rest after that surgery!
Great albums! Love the Kinks and Sparks!
Woo hoo! Great to have likeminded music folks stop by and check out my videos! High five! Thanks so much for watching. Kinks and Sparks forever!
Yes, I find that's one of the best things about Hanna's channel. The abundance of music resources, whether from her or subscribers.
Thank you so much, Todd!
Hanna, Best of Luck with your move. That Waterboys is a great pick up. Keep on Rockin!
Surface noise is exactly why I prefer CDs over vinyl.
Both formats are charming in their own way and I adore both! as with anything: pros/cons.
@@TheOmahaIntrovert True.
I saw Sparks last night , 3/30, in Boston ,they played Get in the Swing from Indiscreet and This Town of course! Good finds!
Hi Kevin! I'm so glad you were able to go to that Sparks show. Wow, super jealous! Thanks for sharing a few necessary tracks that they performed, too. Too awesome! I appreciate the comment!

Thanks so much, Roger! I've been having some pretty groovy luck at these shows. Rock on!
Hooray for The Waterboys! Fisherman’s Blues is rad as well. Love your mix of new and classic ie. Ringo DS and The Kinks 😀
Hi Alexander! Thanks for dropping a note. I definitely mix it up here and there. It's still all mostly rock, though! Hehe! Lots of love for the Waterboys. Can't wait to get more into the collection! Enjoy your Thursday!

Thanks so much! Glad a few of these "sparked" your interest! ☺️ Have a terrific evening!
That's a great Bob Marley album!! You picked up some good stuff Hannah really enjoyed the video and the best of luck with your move ☮️
Hey Rod! Thanks so much, glad you enjoyed the video. I appreciate the peaceful vibes for my move, too. Bob Marley helps during these times! Cheers!
Great to see you,
Brian☘️
Wow your videos always bring back such memories for me( as music always does i think),i remember buying that Waterboys album This Is The Sea when it came out, these albums i had on on a loop back in 1985
Husker Du - New Day Riskng
10,000 Maniacs- Human Conflict no 5
R.E.M. Fables Of The Reconstruction
The Minutemen- Project Mersh
Great memories, best wishes to you Hanna.
Be well!
Aloha Hannah,
Great Selection of record albums that you purchased at the Dallas Show.

Great album.
Saw the Waterboys in London 1985. Terrific show.
Hi Sam! I really appreciate the comment. So rad that you were able to see the Waterboys in '85. Wowee zowee! Cheers!
I hope that everything works out for you in the long run and I hope that you and your other half have a long and happy life in your new home.
That is very kind of you to say. Thank you, David!
Apeman rocks!Love that song.Yes,we all have over paid,me often when its something i realy want.Normally i am very cheap 😆
Hi Jon! I will definitely keep working on building my John Foxx collection! It's in the works! :-)
Hmm. I sold my Kinks Powerman in the last year to a vendor here in Texas. Great album. I am gonna pretend mine found it way to you.
Hi Gino! You never know, this could just be your very copy of Lola! Thanks so much for stopping by, my friend!
Great finds Hanna! ✌🏻🎶🎶🎶
Much thanks! Success at a record show is so sweet! Enjoy the rest of your week!
I have a Saints album I love from the 80’s.
Lola Vs Powerman is the last really great Kinks album (In my opinion)
The Great Lost Kinks Album is amazing BTW
I cant believe the prices of vinyl today (but I bought some of those old records back in the old days from 5 or 6 bucks each so what do I know}
Also some records had bad pressings back then so they might look clean but pressed on crappy vinyl
Yes, I'm also partial to early Kinks. Arthur perhaps my favorite. I do admit having a nostalgic soft spot for Give the People what they want.
Hi Bill! Darn, wish I could have bought some of the stuff you were selling! Hope the moving plans are moving right along! Cheers!
@@TheOmahaIntrovert If you love Bob Marley then try his coffee you might actually like it.
Love John foxx .great video thank you
So glad you're a John Foxx fan, too! What a genius! I appreciate the comment, thanks!
It would be great to hear about the process of moving your record collection!
Indeed it would. Maybe with video footage to boot.
@@TheOmahaIntrovert I was wondering about the use of a moving company.
There are some LP's pressed in Germany that have video on them therefore you need a RIAA Preamp with a Raspberry Pi IV built in and decodes the video and would output to a TV via the Composite video port.
Tryna catch up on watching everyones videos over the past 2 months, and I finally stumbled across yo' azz ;-)
I have that John Foxx record and I don't think I've listened to it in 15 years. Glad you did great at the record show - TONE

HI Hanna boy lot of lps you got there my friend and good luck on your move
Hey there, Curtis! Yeah, this was a nice stack of records I picked up at the show, eh? Maybe too much but life is short and we must enjoy our hobbies!
@@TheOmahaIntrovert you are so right about that my friend
Louis one! 👍🏻👍🏻😊
@@TheOmahaIntrovert Thanks for the tip.
Love Cold Roses & the Waterboys!
YES! Next goals are to get some Whiskeytown on vinyl and Fisherman's Blues from Waterboys next! You know, with this hobby the fun never ends! :-)
@@TheOmahaIntrovert hopefully I'll be finding more stuff in April I'll be able to go to my flea market in mid April oh yes do check out that first waterboys album it's not as immediate as this is the sea and it'll take a few listens to take it all in but sample gala, it should've been you, December and the three minute man from the album if you like those tracks than you'll like the debut until next time
The Waterboys' FISHERMAN'S BLUES is a classic! Mike Scott's BRING 'EM ALL IN and STILL BURNING are good, too.
I hope to find Fisherman's Blues next!
Hi, Some great albums you got there. Waterboys are epic. Another classic album you might like is Cactus world news , urban beaches. Irish guitar band. Happy hunting.
Hi there, Paul! I appreciate the additional Irish band recommendation. New to me. You all are a wealth of information and fantastic suggestions! Enjoy the weekend!
Hello fellow Omahan. Nice finds.
Means a lot that you stopped by, Dereck! Thank you! Looking forward to the Omaha record show next month!
Looks like you can get a copy of RD's Sparkler comp here:
www.peppermintdaydreamrecords.com/store/ringo-deathstarr-sparkler-vinyl-cass
I'm off to sample Avalyn after I respond to a few more comments. Thanks so much for the recommendation. I have been neglecting new stuff out of the shoegaze genre lately. Cheers!
Thanks for the link, Hanna.
Hi Hanna
Really enjoyed your show, going to the Record Show.
Come up to Bay City MI May 14. All the biggest sellers from the northern half of the mitten. It will be worth your time and money.
I wish, but 12 hour drive for us. No can do at the moment!
Really like that Waterboys record. Dream Harder is the first Waterboys album I ever got and still is my favorite.
Hi Matt! I'll have to check out Dream Harder by the Waterboys. I haven't gotten that far yet. So glad I'm giving them the proper listens now!
Awesome records. 👍
Thanks so much, Silvio! Glad you liked these records I picked up! It was a fun show! take care.
I always see Sparks albums. Let me know which ones you're missing I'll keep an eye out for you. Good mixture of genres here btw, I love that
Hi - nice finds; John "Metal Beat" Foxx - Glorious - "Pan Within" - Awesome song & lyrics IMHO the best one from Scott - Sparks = Genius Ev'ry LPs are worth having - my favorite LP is, as I mention earlier, "Woofer ;) "Town" is my favorite song by The Mael Bros - THE KINKS - LOLA APEMAN
Rock on!
Good one Hanna..i would have picked that Kimono my House too at that price
Hi Cameron! Nah, I didn't get a good deal on Kimono, but it's still cool to own an OG UK press of it! Cheers, and thanks for watching, my friend!
Hi Hannah
Don't envy your move, I've done that a couple of times last few years..quite the hassle..hope it all works out for you.
Eeeks, that's a bummer about some UK pressings. Darn it! That's really bad if even the ultrasonic can't fix it!
I’ve definitely beefed up my Sparks catalog too.
Awesome, Danelle! What’s your favorite by them?
Sparks' "Pretending to be Drunk" is a banger!
ua-cam.com/video/NP-EFPwhb8s/v-deo.html
Be well!
I ve found a Jugoton press of Kimono My House at the Belgrade record show in NM condition for very cheap. Like your finds, especially The Kinks.
Sparks definitely aren't for everyone, but I'm glad you gave them a shot!
@@TheOmahaIntrovert hey Hanna, honestly haven't even got to do any digging in months... record fair up soon and my fingers are itchy!!
Till last year I have been flying to Dallas since 1989. 1/2 price book stores
Use to be my favorite haunt. Now Josey Records and Forever Records are my go to places. Still go downtown to
1/2 price’s big store
I'm not from Texas! We just took a little road trip down there! ;-) Stay tuned for the next video because I showcase Josey Records. I didn't like Forever Young Records. We went there last time and in my opinion it's very overpriced.
@@TheOmahaIntrovert I texted before I got through video which I usually do. Just me. It’s been 4-5 years since been
To Forever. They were high then but the selection was awesome. Josey is probably twice the size now since I have been
To it. They had just gotten access to rest of building and had bought Bill’s Records estate. He had warehouses of records
At one time. Bill was a funny guy, as he didn’t have prices on his records. You brought them up to him, he would pull it
Out and give you a price.
I think that Chromatics recently broke up..sad
@@phantombangs9028 damn it you are right, so sad. I’m glad I saw them when I did.
Thanks for always being here!
or you could just try buying things you want to listen to
Mandy Moore covered Whole Of The Moon lol
I love Mandy Moore!..........but she won't return my phone calls.
Jess, WTF?! LOL. I'm gonna try to show the amazing package of goodies you sent in my next video, btw!
Ray Davies is clearly on the Mt. Rushmore of great rock songwriters/musicians Arthur is a masterpiece and the one who bought is superb as well.
Hi Gary. I love Arthur as well and own it on vinyl. Come to think of it, I haven't spun it in a while. What a great spin! Thanks for the comment!
