Isn’t it obvious that all runners on the racetrack keep on running to win, but only one receives the victor’s prize? Yet each one of you must run the race to be victorious.
So let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith.
And those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.
Push through the pain and resist temptation.
Keep pressing on to what lies ahead.
Beat your body and make it your slave.
Run, do not remain where you are, Run do not grow weary, take decisive steps and Run.
By the example of the lives of the saints who have gone ahead of us, we have the baton, and so we must run with focus, dropping excess baggage - every weight and sin which so easily entangles, the discouragement of this age. Press on to the upward call, to win the crown. Hold on till the end so the Lord will say “well done my child.”
