Something we need to be mindful of in the information is the history. Ukrainans is no stranger to invasion all the way back to the days of the Kievan Rus, and their folklore is full of heros who made valient if not doomed defenses against everyone from the Mongols to the cursaders to the Nazis. Russian seiges only play into this cultural identity and allow Ukraine to create martyrs and folk heros of the that.

The Russian sense of entitlement is just absolutely gargantuan: people here on youtube seriously advocating for the right of invaders to shoot any civilian in any circumstances because some of them have taken up arms but didn’t have time to get a uniform. Just to be clear, the Geneva Convention absolutely stipulates peoples right to do this, and absolutely forbids killing noncombatants and unarmed combatants.

Ukraine must abide those rules , too Guerilla war is illegal but not half as illegal as non insignified personnel and equipment! (Couldn't say most armies cared less which direction fire came from somewhere around aka "the front").

NATO is a defensive organisation. Yet you claim it should sign a security guarantee not to attack Russia, if for example Russia (or one of its puppets) violated Article 5, not as the start of a war, but simply as a special military operation. Indeed, Russia signed the NATO-Russia Founding Act, pledging to uphold "respect for sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of all states and their inherent right to choose the means to ensure their own security". Russia's agreements with NATO are mostly worthless, and not because of NATO, but because Russia purposefully lies to its own people, to the ethnic minorities of Russia, and to the people of other states.
