Hello Jenny. What an amazing build !!. A far cry from my old Mamod Traction engine my Dad got me for Christmas back in the Bronze Age. Absolutely stunning Garratt.
Ahh, the same problem I have had... Run an engine on compressed air at low psi. But things are very different at working steam pressure! You guys did well with a coal fire sorting out the problems, not just a case of "Turn off the gas"! Well done and thank you, this video will give a lot of 'heart' to 'First time' steamers.
Great first steam up, We ran my dads 4 inch Burrell, found it hard to keep the fire going, put to much welsh steam coal on too early. Also bolt missing from the cylinder block, so next time we should be good. the more to steam it the better you get. Took us a time to sort he's other one out, a 3 inch Allchin. Its great fun and there all different i think.
A great video of a little traction engine and awesome to be able to be able to build something as wonderful as that, it was enjoyable to see you and your dads enthusiasm for sorting out the gremlins 🙂
Hi jenny ☺ just reminds me of my uncle tom! Who was a fireman at NEWTON HEATH MPD. and also constructed live steam locomotives 5inc his last one was BRITANIA great program 👏
By the way, it’s lovely to have something different at the normal Monday Club meeting!! Especially when it’s something as interesting as a live steam traction engine!!
Extremely beautiful traction engine Jenny, you must be very proud. By the way I have always wondered what is that black oval shape on the side of the boiler on traction engines? (0:11)

Wow that’s a pretty sweet traction engine, won’t be long and it will be running smoothly. Great to see family working together.😀👍

An excellent piece of model engineering. Thank you for sharing this

And I can now watch a pair of brilliant mechanical engineers finding what is actually wrong!! Great show!!
Most enjoyable video Jenny. you should do some more video's with your Dad
As I thought!! My signal had cut out for a couple of moments and I was able to sort it by going outside the back door.
That is a very impressive traction engine.
Great video Jen, Ken and Zoe. I hope we get a follow up?
What a beautiful machine

It's the boiler washout hole to clean the boiler.
I m looking for part 2
What a gorgeous little traction engine!! Your dad’s, is it?
Good night Jen!!

Wow that is a beautiful railway, haven’t been there myself but it looks exquisite.
It must be a wonderful job.
@@mcbenman1793 the best part is if somebody mess up we don't yell at them we show them how to do the task wright.
I think he would have done a better job without your interference
