Well, if someone makes good music it doesn’t matter where they’re from. I think Shania’s international success just completely eclipsed anything she or her team envisioned happening. It was subtle at first-she was popular amongst country music fans and received nominations for ‘Any Mine of Mine’ at the 1995 Grammys. But of course a few years later she blew up. Shania’s goal was Nashville from a young age. That’s why she put in her time working the bar scenes. Many artists achieve success in the Us and Canada, and nobody even realizes they’re Canadian until way after! I didn’t know Alanis or Tori Amos were Canadian for years. I didn’t even know the Spice Girls were British until I saw an interview w them. Lol. Yes I was a teenager but still…if you make good music, you’ll be loved!

When I was a teenager Shania Twain was on all the radios in my archipelago and at each neighbor's party, her songs were on repeat, still today she is adored by all. Seeing her on stage even two years ago fills me with joy. Always so beautiful and talented.

e c - legit, when she started I was like “meh, she hasn’t maintained her voice that well,” but to be honest, it’s more because she’s not lip syncing or using super processed backing tracks like most performers do these days. Kudos - SUPER kudos - to her. That was a genuinely enjoyable performance to watch.

@D Leo The fact you are so triggered about a harmless comment is disturbing to be honest... When someone can continue to sing without having to lip sync over many many years in the industry is a true artist, and that is NOT taking away from the current younger artists, they are amazing as well. What I do agree with is the fact that people should give artists more credit instead of ALWAYS referring back to the past like Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, etc etc... they paved the way for LOTS OF ARTISTS but to say the past HOT artists are better than the newer ones is lame and false. Whitney Houston is an example I'll give because so many people praise her and always take away from everyone else because they act like Whitney is better than everyone.. people need to stop living in the past and realize they arent always the "best".
