    i see a lot of people hating on bright screens, usually in favor of oled, by saying "oled is plenty bright enough i even have to turn my brightness down a bit". they dont realize the brightness rating isnt about overall screen brightness its about peak brightness. you can have some pixels hitting 600n without burning your retinas off because its not a rating meant to be used to determine how bright the screen can get overall. its a rating determining how much detail can be displayed in bright scenes. it also determines how bright a color can get making them pop more.

      It's a preference issue I guess or buyers remorse. Lol... tho I love and need bright displays. HDR + vs Dolby Vision. I saw a hdtest video and Dolby vision while more accurate has a less than stellar quality for me. Plus no display can hit 4000nits. That Dolby is made for. The argument is really OLED buyers pushing the technology. But I agree with you. It's about the quality of peak not full screen. Plus abl does not help the OLED. I see everyone on the Switch OLED talk alot about burn in now. LoL... OLED Tech will and in amazing... but not for me... not yet... tho next yr with the 42" LG OLED is looking pretty nice for the features as I need that in my life. But I am upgrading my Neo QLED QN90A to the 2022 version with mini led improved tech.

      @@DisplayReality i agree. personally im wayyy too scared of burn in especially since my only form of entertainment is form a pc. its an amazing piece of tech that i hope overcomes its flaws but it is not for me either. tel you what though im definitely having buyers remorse myself. got a q80t for pc gaming. the va panels black smearing issue is causing the tv to turn in to a strobe light under certain gaming conditions....

    Maybe you want to mention the resolution of the image that you're running the tests at and/or the fact that the G7 maxes out at 1440p while the FV43U is able to display at 4K?

    • @DisplayReality
      @DisplayReality  3 роки тому +1

      Both were running at 4k. Even tho the G7 is max showing at 1440p is was a 4k signal. Still the G7 is a better VA panel at any res.

  • @FlynnTaggart23
    @FlynnTaggart23 3 роки тому +2

    Not all games output in 1440p though :( and on console (even gen5) for wide FOV & 120fps we still need to go down to 1080p to maintain max fps. The one big advantage 4k monitors have is they output clean (like native) 1080p. 2x2 pixels just becomes 1...

  • @Sincerity1993

    The HDR in the AORUS Monitor is world's better (just alone because of HDMI 2.1 RGB Colors on PS5, while the G7 only outputs Yuv422 due to limited bandwidth of HDMI 2.0) and the size is great too Ofc.
    Once you get a 43 Inch Monitor going back to anything smaller feels like a huge downgrade, I would rather take a better HDR and bigger size than a little faster response rate.
    Returned my Samsung Odyssey G7 for an AORUS FV43U and couldn't be happier.
    However If you only care about 1440p u can't go wrong with the G7 tho.

    With the FV43u down below 700 in the UK I am tempted to buy one. I have read some reviews saying that the motion clarity and ghosting on the FV are quite bad what is your experience seeing the motion on the FV43 in person?

    • @DisplayReality

      For pc this monitor is heavenly. I can't tell you how many comments on Twitter I get that they were happy to see my videos as it has surprised them. They love this mobitor for pc.But on console things are mixed. As this monitor is way better in terms of ghosting etc on pc vs consoles. Ps5 show a small bit of ghosting noting bad but vs pc ots noticeable. I can cover it in another video soon friend. But these prices are too good to pass up... seriously I love mine and to me is even more fun than my QD-OLED AW3423DW monitor.

    • @DisplayReality
      @DisplayReality  2 роки тому +1

      @@callum2277 honestly I don't have any issues with text on the FV43U. But I don't really work or use it much other than heavy web browsing/paying bills/gaming.. It's my favorite gaming monitor due to the size and qled panel that's so bright and colorful no other monitor looks like it that I own. It's SDR mode looks likes the AW3423DW HDR mode. That's how colorfully and bright the FV43U is. I also don't have any problems with smear but the G7 is better as shown here. The m55U from Gigabyte has 130 dimming zones/qled and looks to be the upgrade from the FV43U. I know it's tough as it still alot of money but sobfar from ppl who bought it from watching my videos I have had nothing but comments on how awesome it is. It's probbdue to how colorful and bright this monitor is. Many use it forbracing on pc I have noticed.

      I will in the future make an in depth video for every monitor I have. Indo have a calibration idisplay pro 2000nit device that I will use. Ok try this on the G7: Cinema Preset is sometimes has too much contrast... so I switch to user mode and select black equalizer between 8 and 13. Put whatever you think looks good. In user mode 13 Black. E. Is the same as cinema but has a lower effect on this user mode so it's easier on the eyes. Brightness 100 (put what you like) contrast 80 (put what you like) color 60-65 and sharpness 60. Gamma 2. Advanced contrast Off. Local dimming on or off (whatever you like) this is off the top of my head but I will make another vs video of these 2 on Xbox gaming and I will show the menu so you can see what I have.. thx.

    Hands down samsung has the speed blur tests but I'd still go for color accuracy with the Aorus. It's a 43" so I'd be using it to watch movies/netflix. The text test was kind of redundant...Who reads while text is moving? Never been a fan of FPS games so a bit of blur isn't a problem to me.

      I really do like the 43" size too (more heat though but it's ok) The text Test was for someone who needed that test specifically. But I moved the camera with the text to show clarity/smear as if the camera was static its hard for the camera to show anything.

I had both for a short time before the G9 was picked up, man the G9 looks shit in comparison with washed color and lower brightness. The draw back is really the response time. You can turn on Aim stabiliser which makes it much more responsive but you lose HDR. Worst game on FV43U is Cyberpunk because of the dark areas and the high GTG response time.

      😬... 🤣🤣🤣... its really about if you want brightness and size. They just released the Asus PG32UQ its IPS tho... too many monitors now coming out. It's tough. Just try the Aorus... if you have a very good panels its a keeper. If there is any defect return. It's more too on the quality of panel. I'm sure you will be in wow on the size. I am..

    please send me a fv43u monitor lol. ive literally bought it 7 times and all the times it arrived broken and every other person ive recommended to get it, got a working one lol...to make matters worse, for the last 7th one, 2-3 pixels were dead and the shop said they dont have to refund u if it has only 2-3 dead pixels so i ended up reselling it for 1/4 of the price...

      Sorry for your troubles. Thats alot of returns. These companies need better quality control. My Gigabyte m28u had a qc passed sticker on it while my Aorus did not. Alot of new OLEDs are releasing in 2024. Hopefully they have better qc across the board.

      Well for the video I had 100 brightness to compare but 60 seems good to me normally. Also black equalizer of 9 and Overdrive on balanced. Contrast at 60. Sharpness at 5. I always enable super res. At 1 as I play alot of retro stuff.
