Keep an eye out on any changes in engine noises I've had a number of these engines from the hpi k blocks axial ND a few surefire 32 pretty much all of them the crank bearings have had issues especially the inside bearing getting chewed up ND throwing strapnle threw the engine the bearings don't last at all I replace them with quality bearings
This is no big red this motor isn't even in the same bracket as big red I will never buy another one of these motors again truly the first motor I have been disappointed with
I thought that they would have changed a lot more between the spec 1 and spec 2 (I had an hpi k4.6 which is almost identical to the axial .28 spec 1), but this looks almost identical to the spec 1 engine but with the hpi k5.9 9mm carb and a different heat sink.
Bearings pop out randomly on crank and pull starts break easy..other than that good engine the surefire 32 racers edge was a beast but same issuea with crap crank bearings
Had this roughly ten years ago. Can't remember if it was spec 2 or 1. Decent engine. Not as powerful as picco p3 or sts .28 at the time. Also broke the pullstart very easily. Rotostart of course fixed the problem.
This motor has been fantastic I feel it has plenty of power for the savage 25 I installed it on tunes nicely runs a little hot but it's a monster of a motor
Thats a good looking engine, you think its for sale somewhere with international shipping? looking for an engine to go in my savage X.. EDIT: nevermind that, i've found a shop in my country that sells this engine!

That's good to know do you replace with ceramic? What brand do you typically use?

The power is about the same aswell the engine runs great and is reliable but power is underwhelming

Honestly the 3 needle carb through me off its sitting in a box I doubt it will ever see light on my trucks
They sale hardened clutch bells for the savage. My dynamite 28 did the same thing to the stock clutch bell.

I'm super happy with it so far I got it at 139 so I feel I got a great deal on it. Keep me updated when you get yours
