I watched Beyond Scared Straight with Max Balegde (despite what the title may lead you to believ, not conversion therapy) and we saw how outrageous it was. Criminals screaming at children is the best way to teach them a lesson. Can we all just appreciate how they are able to laugh and be light hearted and make fun of this but are also mature enough to notice how fcked up this actually is for the kids. So many UA-camrs just laugh and don't say a word so thank you.

Not only that, but some of these kids were just screwed over by their parents. For example that 12 yr old alcoholic, how in the flying fuck does something like that happen??? They should’ve had his parents with the inmates who suffer with addiction so they can see what’ll happen to their kid if they don’t get him ACTUAL help. There is nothing anyone can say to me to convince me the parents aren’t at fault for the lil boy being addicted.

Like these things don't just happen out of nowhere 🙄 like sure there's a small percentage of kids that will go completely off the rails regardless, but I would bet so much that childhood trauma is the root of so many of these kids' issues
This is just gonna send the kids into further trouble tbh. "Oh a young person is acting out, let's give them ptsd, that'll scare them into being normal"
@@user-xd7dt6gr8lespecially since a lot of them kids struggle with substance abuse. think about how addicts usually deal with trauma… quitting out of fear is the best case scenario, but the more realistic one is them jumping right back into it.

What I never understood about the show is why they’re punishing some of the kids so hard. Like you cannot sit there and tell me a 12 yr old alcoholic deserves the same treatment as a kid who beats up his mom/people in general. How tf does a 12 yr old even become an alcoholic, where tf were his parents at? How’d they let that happen?? They should grabbed that kids parents and made them watch a documentary or something about how addicted kids end up later in life, or meet inmates who were addicts at 12, not have this 12 yr old get harassed by inmates 😅

This show represents america sooo damn well.
Tbh, I would have been the worst of the children, punching, kicking, scratching and biting everyone who comes within a meter of me - I doubt they were booked into the prison, so the tackle of a child by more than one grown up for instance is definitely worth a badge and a law suit. Especially since they knowingly put the kids in danger by having a shitload of traumatised-by-prison and unpredictable criminals around them.. This show and the knowledge that some fat TV executives, commiting white collar crime like tax evasion and exploiting minors for money on a daily basis, "earned" their mondbogglingly high bonuses with that, makes my so fucking livid.
Fuck, the parents who knew the show and still let them participate in this cluster fuck, this outrageous display of lacking concern for the kid's mental health, should have taken away the right to be near kids for life. 🤬🤬
How the fuck is it illegal to drink under the age of 21, but it's legal to get a 13yo traumatised and scarred for life by getting threats of rape and murder by a fucking prison inmate for something ridiculous as underage drinking, while the police is just standing there, not helping, but actively participating in mobbing them? No wonder nearly all Americans except the rich, white, famous Republicans hate and distrust their police and try to prevent ever having to interact with them at all costs, ironically resulting in getting shot five times in the back while running away. 🤦🏼♂️
