Everything is inside the box, we have the storage tray, mounting brackets with latch, fasteners, and a manual.
Here are the brief installation instructions.
After the mounting bracket is assembled, this is then test fitted.
The bracket is removed and clamped into place. The fasteners are self drilling so there’s no need for drill bits or specialty tools.
The fasteners are finished up, everything is tightened.
Then the box can be finally installed, it fits onto plastic pivots.
The last step is tightening that latch and then it’s officially done.
Once done, you can see the box fits neatly over the fender well and somewhat tight against the side of the box. I do use my truck box quite a bit for building materials, taking trips to the dump, or transporting different things. If I’m transporting something that could potentially damage the box, then the box can be easily removed.
The overall dimensions of the box are 28.3” long, 8.7” wide, and 15.4” high. This box is empty and only weighs 11 lbs.
The box sits ### from the inside edge of the bed rain and sits ### high from the box floor.
Its capacity is 6.6 gallons or 25 litres.
The box can be hard to open fully when latched in place which is why it’s intended to swing out. Swinging the box out also eliminated the need to get into the truck bed, you can access the box by standing beside your truck.
Inside you can see we have a large amount of storage space. For my personal use, I’m removing the stuff inside my regular cab truck and storing it here instead. This is mainly tie-down straps but also includes a tow strap, a tow receiver for the hitch, and some trailer accessories. It is rated to stow up to 75 lbs of gear.
There is a tray on the fender side with hidden storage underneath to provide some organization.
As shown here, removing the box if you need extra bed space can be done in under a minute which makes it’s extremely convenient.
After some time testing out this box for day-to-day use, this is a great addition to my truck. Typically it does stay under a tonneau cover so it’s protected. However I have had the tonneau cover off for a longer period where this box was exposed to rain and snow. It lived up to its description with it being waterproof. I will however say the combination lock did freeze on me, so applying a moisture-dispersing oil would be recommended.

Could you let us know if the unit rattles around and is noisy when driving or going over rough roads or bumps?

I can’t hear the rattle with the tonneau cover on. Without, I do hear a very mild rattle.
