Wiz: The Grinch, the mean one who'd steal Christmas. Boomstick: Jack Skellington, the Pumpkin King who brought a Nightmare before Christmas. Wiz: These two holiday icons have been around for years and have been known for their one most memorable deed of the holiday season... Boomstick: Stealing Christmas! Yeah, because apparently you can apparently do that in these holiday movies. At least up until you learn the usual 'Christmas can't be stolen' lesson in the end, but it didn't stop these two from trying. But who is the best Christmas thief? He's Wiz and I'm Boomstick... Wiz: And it's our job to analyze their weapons, armor, and skills to find out who would win a holly jolly Death Battle!
"Who's Christmas?" -> The Grinch lives near Whoville -> A convoluted combination of Jack's constant questions about Christmas as well as taking Sandy Claws' place -> Both Jack and The Grinch missed the point of Christmas in their initial endeavors -> At the end, Cindy Lou Who shows up to correct them on what Christmas is really about
@@ryanconnell1873 That's... let's just say *VERY* out of character for Jack. He'd only try to kill someone if they were actually doing something horrible.
If Jack wins, I'd love there to be a moment where he just has an epiphany, that he can never be Santa Claus, so it's best to just embrace the Pumpkin King persona, and he proceeds to actually draw fear out of the Grinch before axing him off, maybe by just distracting him from seeing where he's going as his sled flies off a cliff, and since he's the only one of the two who doesn't have a flying sled, he plummets to the ground, on the chance Jack lost his sled in the battle let there be a dramatic zoom in on the wreckage of the sled, revealing the bodies of the two only for Jack to get back up and reattach his head to imply the gap in durability
I picture this fight taking place while both sled down the Grinch’s Mountain, and that just feels so fitting. It’s an action packed tune, it’s got Christmas aesthetics, and I can absolutely see the Grinch win with some nasty tricks!
I see Jack winning. Grinch's strength multiplier only happens during emotional clarity. Plus, Jack was able to survive a surface-to-air missile. On top of that, he can set himself on fire unharmed, and Ninja around an opponent if he wants. Plus, Grinch hates loud noises, and Jack claims that "no animal nor man can SCREAM like [he] can with the fury of [his] recitations". Everything that makes Grinch a terror to whoville is a day that ends in Y in Halloween town.
@@Alterego912 Emotional Clarity argument is BS because he still did the feat either way. Plus Jack can't use his Fear Manipulation to scare the Grinch via Halloween is Grinch Night has him use all sorts of spooks to terrorize people. One of which includes a pocket dimension that runs off of fear.
@@Squeam9750 the strength required to lift that heavy sleigh isn’t as powerful as an surface to air missle, and then there’s the fall he took after, (also the guy you were replying to i think was talking about less so scaring him more so hurting his eardrums, which I feel like he could do because in Disney infinity his scare attack is also pretty powerful)
I can imagine when Jack try to go into the Christmas World. He ended up in Whoville instead and find the Grinch who was trying already to steal Christmas but Jack try to stop him and take Christmas for his home instead.
Omfg this is amazing. This is one of my most wanted matchups and this song fits PERFECTLY to literally everything I had imagined for a fight between these two. AND it fucking slaps Names? I got a lot of those Nightmare of a stolen Christmas : Stolen nightmare : Whovile haunt : The Fight before Christmas : Just a few :p Here’s how I think the fight should go and the time stamps for the events 0:00 narrator talks 0:08 jack and grinch run into each other in the same house 0:37 fight starts inside the house 1:28 they break through the roof and start fighting in the rooftops 2:00 grinches ladder legs break and shoots them both into the air 2:04 they land on the grinches mountain and their Santa outfits fall off 2:28 jack gets put into grinches whatever acid trip wagon dimension. And then powers straight through it 2:46 jack gets back to reality and tries to stop grinch from pushing all the presents of the cliff 3:03 they fall of the edge and but see all the townspeople not caring about the presents ( grinches heart grows as well ) and then they start fighting for the right reasons 3:43 jack grabs G by the arm and tells him to save Christmas for him then throws him to safety while jack falls down to his demise. But Knowing Christmas is saved 3:53 grinch puts back on his now broken Santa hat and sets off to save the holiday. While the narrator starts talking again to finish the fight ( the grinch wins )
If Death Battle we're to do a Christmas special, this would definitely be it. Love the references to both. As for a name for the song? "The Nightmare that stole Christmas" "Taking Christmas" "Three sizes too scary" and "The _mean_ing of Christmas" are ones I've seen in the comments are the ones that stick out for me. Awesome track Therewolf and Happy Holidays everyone!
I mean if you're taking free requests, I mean, if you want some really outlandish VS matches.. Paradox (yugioh) vs Zamasu (dragonball)? Two madmen who transcended time and time travel to (what they believe) fix the universe only to end up making it far worse.
I wonder if BY would be made if you took his Dangerous Gaze leitmotif for something. Because Count Bleck vs Obito is such an obvious Death Battle idea (I’ve covered this on the fanon wiki, it’s one of those closer-than-you’d-think fights.), and yet it feels like I’m probably the only one who’s thought of it.
I can see this fight starting with Jack and the Grinch both impersonating Santa. Jack giving his…interesting gifts, and the Grinch taking their’s. Eventually Jack enters a house the Grinch has already visited, and sees him stuff up the Christmas tree. I could even see Jack mistaking Grinch for Santa, until he notices the green fur and calls him out for identity theft. And actual theft too. The fact you included the Grinch’s heart growing three sizes could also potentially make Jack’s motive trying to teach Grinch about Christmas despite his lack of knowledge about it. Once Grinch does understand, the rest of the fight could play out similarly to SpongeBob VS Aquaman, in that both have a chance to prove their loyalty to Christmas, good tithings, and kind-heartedness.
I feel like Jack woild just assume that this was a form our routund friend Chris Cringle takes during the holiday itself, like a Werewolf changing forms on the night of a full moon. The Grinch would instigate by attacking Jack and Jack would just assume this was how you do Christmas. The battle would likely end with Jacks victory, and I could see it ending with Jack returning to Halloween Town to find that Santa was saved by a group of elves and Sally working together, Jack wondering how Santa got back to town and changed his form back before he got there.
I'm not good on title names for certain franchises, but never would I expect another upload from you after the second batch finishing. Wow this one's a banger!
For an ending, I'd like it if upon his death, the Grinch comes back as a zombie and Jack let's the Grinch live in Halloween town. That way, the Grinch finally finds a place to call home :D even if he had to die to do it but eh don't think about it too hard
Some ideas: How The Grinch Stole Halloween. Grinch Night (like the movie). This is Christmas. Grinch Skellington. Grinchmas. Three Sizes of Halloween Grinch-O-Ween
What's this? What's this? A Therwolf Media track of The Grinch vs Jack Skellington with no name? What a wonderful gift. and for the names... there are many options. ''The Death Battle Before Chirstmas'' ''The Stole Before Christmas'' ''Silent Night, Grinchy Night'' ''Christmas Robbers'' ''Mean Nightmares'' ''Who's This?'' ''You're a Scary one'' ''This is Christmas'' And those are the only ones that come to my mind. Happy Holidays to all.
Wiz: The Grinch, Dr. Suess's sinister Green Grouch. Boomstick: And Jack Skellington, the Slender and Spooky King of Pumpkins and Halloween. Wiz: Christmas is a happy and cheerful time of the Year with Carols, Gifts, Decorating, and overall cheer. It's one of the most Beloved Holidays of the year. Boomstick: But it doesn't hurt to have A Little edge during the season. And these 2 Spooktacular Almost Theives Of Christmas are some of the most memorable - I said "Almost" because they returned what they stole by the end of their stories. He's Wiz and I'm Boomstick! Wiz: and it's our job to Analyze their weapons, armor, and skill to find out who will win, A Death Battle!
I imagine this fight starting in Cindy Lou Who's house, ending up in the streets of Whoville, eventually they (with presents in tow) somehow end up at the very large hill the Grinch originally went to to destroy the presents. During their clash, the presents burst open, falling conveniently back in every who's home (probably at 3:02). The sudden tearing of the bag causes the both to plummet towards whoville, at 3:20 the two are fighting mid-air, and at 3:32, The Grinch is impaled on the top of the large christmas tree in the middle of whoville, with Jack using either a power of his or perhaps shorting the wires on the Christmas tree to set the tree ablaze.
absolutely love the track with how it incorporates various themes from both movies and still has a Christmas feel... and a haunting feel to it. As for the track name, how about "Chilled To The Bone"
THIS IS SO COOL! One of my favorite tracks already! I love the part where Welcome Christmas comes in, sort of implying the Grinch's heart grows towards the end of the fight and results in a strength boost. Amazing work!
I know I am VERY late, but I have 2 things to say 1: this track is absolutely amazing 2: I have a script for how this fight goes if it were to ever happen. *the grinch would be flying towards who-ville, all in preparation to steal Christmas, however, a certain skeleton would ride next to him, not quite on his wishlist* Jack: “please sir, I’ve heard of your plans, your misdeeds, please turn back, I do plead” Grinch: “are my eyes deceiving me? It’s the pumpkin king from Halloween town! Surely your just fooling around” Jack: “I assure you I’m not, I’m trying to stop this before it’s too late!” Grinch: “then get out of my way, before I get rid of you post-haste.” Jack: “why does nothing ever turn out like it should… I guess a brawl will stop him, it potentially could…” *_FIGHT_* *Jack would ram his sleigh into the grinch’s, the grinch would start firing with as the rotten egg launcher, preparing to shoot Jack out of the sky* *the skellington got shot down quick, but that was not enough for him to say goodbye, the would use his soul robber, fit for grappling and attacking, the grinch knew exactly that this fight was about to happen.* *the duo would go blow for blow, tit for tat, since neither would gain the upper hand on the other due to the grinches strength, and Jacks speed… however, neither of them noticed that the sleigh was plummeting down the mountain* Grinch: Max! Pull us up, Now, I don’t want to be subjected to an end so foul! *it would be too late, as the sleigh crashed into the snowy floor, however, both of them had a lot more in store* *Jacks soul robber would turn blue, the grinch now realized that the thing was much more than a tool* *Jack would slam it down on the grinch, the whip turning into a spiked ball, crushing the grinch flat, however… the grinch would become a giant, planning to stomp jack flat, and then return to taking Christmas right after that* *suddenly, Jack would start dancing while singing a tune, making sure the grinch would lose* Jack: what’s this? A trick? I’m not impressed. First you’re bad and now you’re tall, it makes it all the worthwhile to see the giant fall. *a bunch of music notes would hit the grinch in the face, he prepared a counter, no more he would take* Grinch: you might have magic that I haven’t heard of, but I’ve gotten some tricks in mind that you won’t even be able to get a WORD from. *the grinch would shrink, and pull out a small machine, muting the skeleton entirely, just for Jack to immediately destroy it right as he realized what was happening* Grinch: max! Get the wagon! Hurry up or no supper, I need to make this skeleton suffer. *the grinch would keep shooting at Jack with his rotten egg launcher, while Jack would switch into his sandy claws outfit* *He would trap the grinch in ice using a frozen pumpkin, however the grinch would break out quickly, retaliating by attempting to trap the skeleton in goo, however, Jack’s body would then turn into a liquid like substance, ducking under the attack before turning right back to his normal self* *max would come back with the pallenelia wagon (hope I spelled this right* Grinch: tell me pumpkin king, do you feel fear? *jack would get warped out of the snowy area, and into the wagon, however… while a normal person would be terrified and trapped in there for much longer, Jack would love it, even though every monster in there wanted his head* Jack: This is truly amazing! Nothing like this is IN Halloween town! *meanwhile, the grinch would go around his usual antics, stealing presents from the entire village, however, he wouldn’t run into Cindy Lou-who, since he was in such a rush, and would head back up mount Krump-it in order to dump it* *Jack skellington would get out sooner than expected, as he had no fear of the wagon’s inside, having no fear has become a habit* Jack: oh dear! He’s already heading up the mountain! *Jack would latch onto the grinch’s sleigh using the soul robber* Grinch: quit it you mangy skeleton! I’m trying to get rid of their clingy and clangy toys! *they would race up the mountain, both the grinch and jack would throw everything in store, but neither would let up, up till furthermore… Jack would dawn his sandy claws outfit once more, and ice would rain from the sky, spinning the grinch out of control* Grinch: Stop you idiot! Don’t you realize where we are, we’re at the peak of the mountain! Give up before this goes too far. Jack: now do you realize the terrors this scrap has brung, stop now before- *the grinch would shoot Jack with his egg launcher, launching him back down the mountains snowy side* Grinch: I… I did it! I finally got him! Hahaha! *as he said that, Jack would extend his legs to be SKYSCRAPERS tall, to catch up to the grinch, he would have to give his all* Grinch: drat! Christmas is already here, it’s only a matter of time before all the- Jack: where were we? *he would tear the grinch out of his sleigh, making sure that he’d pay* *the grinch was ready to fight like never before, but before he could… fire would raise around Jack, and out came his pumpkin king outfit* *fire would raise from the ground, all around the grinch, before a pumpkin bomb was thrown at him, right in a cinch* Grinch: oh no. *the mountain top would explode, and both the grinch and Jack would be falling through the sky, along with the sleigh…* *then the grinch would give off a sinister smile, this skeletons day had finally came* *Jack would let loose while in the air, using his spicy bottle to turn himself into a flaming fireball, hitting the grinch multiple times as he dashed through the air, but before he could finish the job… he knew that the time he had in that form was unfair* *Jack would turn back into his base state, as the grinch, who tanked all the attacks, fired back with his rotten egg launcher, blowing a piece of jacks skull off, right as he does so, he pulls out a candy cane, turning into a propeller that would lift grinch into the air, sky high!* Grinch: so long jack, I sure hope you know a way to come back! *Jack was outsmarted, he would be doomed by the fall, as a final pushback… he said* *Jack: Merry Christmas! To one and all!* *those were the last things Jack spoke, before everything went up in smoke… he would fall from great heights, while being crushed by the sleigh for good measure, all to the grinches sick pleasure, as he laughed at his downfall* *meanwhile, watching from afar, zero would whimper in sadness, just to fly away from this madness…* *_K.O_*
Given I suck at naming things I'm gonna skip this one. Besides, others have given out much better names than I could ever come up with. First thing that I can note on first listen (given I'm writing this as I listen to it on loop) is that I quite like how this song has a lot of shifts in tone yet still feels fluid. It definitely sounds like Therewolf had a sort of scenario a fight between the two would follow while making this. And while I, not knowing a lot about both characters, can't really follow such a scenario, I can definitely respect the intent behind it as it makes the track have more personality while, as said above, still feeling fluid so that it doesn't feel like it just *cuts* the music in chunks (a problem that quite a few official DB tracks have so I'm glad it's not present here). I also like to think that the reason the OST is slightly fragmented like that is because there'd be at least one of the two trying to make a song in the middle of the OST. Prime example would be 1:26-2:00 where there's a direct fragmentation of the song where I'd imagine, probably Grinch ironically, would do this. Because from my limited knowledge of the two I'd say this bit fits Grinch better. I also like how this song makes use of the Christmas instruments in the majority of it. Even if there's stuff like percussions in the background they still have the spotlight for most of the song which fits both characters perfectly. Also makes it so that when the guitar comes up in the places where it does, it feels very impactful. Prime example being after the 3:03 segment up to the end where the guitar is almost ever present which makes this previously pretty lighthearted song gain *a lot* of seriousness and intensity that wouldn't otherwise be felt if the guitar had been just as present during the whole entire song instead of only in certain parts. Going back to my first point (yeah, like I said I'm writing this as I'm listening to the song so lots of back and forth), I find it interesting how after 2:00 you think that it's gonna restart, after the Grinch's segment, with a Jack Skellington bit but instead this slowly ascends up to giving us the ending. Kinda like if Jack were trying to get his own moment but the Grinch kept pressuring him one way or another which means Jack doesn't get the spotlight all for itself, starting a sort of arms race that fully breaks down at 3:03 where the climax plays out and *only then* Jack gets to place his own song but even then it's still fragmented to show that the two are still at odds with one another (3:13-3:31) (I think that's also the right moment to state that I have absolutely no idea who wins this MU so take that as you wish). As always I may be interpreting this wrong but if it truly is meant that way then this is a magnificent way to convey storytelling via music. And I adore when songs are designed in a way that allow you to fully envision how a fight would play out. Probably skipped a thing or two but I think I'll stop at that because my comment's already long enough. Either way, that song's really nice and a wonderful Christmas gift (I'd say "for the people that listen to it" but given it's originally made for Therewolf themselves, it's a wonderful gift for themselves). It's full of personality and uniqueness. I think I do still prefer Symbolic (yeah, I know both songs are barely comparable but that's purely in terms of personal tastes. Not saying one is better than the other) but this one's still an amazing song that I'll listen to quite a bit. Amazing job there.
A Really good name would be Grinch Nightmare since it's a reference to the spin-off film "Dr. Seuss: Halloween is Grinch Night" with the Nightmare being part of the "Nightmare before Christmas" name.
Man, finally this dream match up got his score and I freaking love it. As the name??? I really like "How the nightmare was stole before christmas" maybe a bit longer, but I think it sounds good.
I have a few ideas for the track both name, and art. I suggest the name should be "the Santa Frauds" because when it comes to impersonating the Christmas man himself Grinch and Jack are the most infamous, even if there goals were different at the time. As far the art track, I notice that the Grinch is shown creeping over the moon with his face exposed. Would it be more subtle to have the moon green, and have the shadow of the moon at night have the Grinch's silhouette? If you want to go an extra mile add some snow fall to make it more like a winter track.
Considering Jack has prequel and sequel games to explain how and why he's the Pumpkin King, I think it goes without saying that The Grinch won't be stealing any holiday screentime from Mr. Unlucky.
The Grinch also has a video game based on the Jim Carrey version. In it, he has an interesting set of gets, including a gun that can shoot rotten eggs potent enough smash through concrete. He also gets a lot of weird stuff in the films, The Grinch Grinches the Cat in the Hat and Halloween is Grinch Night, mainly his ability to summon a lightning strike by snapping his fingers, and change his size on a whim.
Well his pocket dimension wouldn't really affect him all that much considering that he's the pumpkin king of Halloween town and Grinch weapons kinda require prep time and run on limited fuel
Is it bad that I see Grinch winning but the killing blow is Grinch using his disgusting tricks making Jack's mangled corpse and intestines into Christmas ornaments and after the battle Grinch realizes that isn't the true meaning of Christmas. But then hears the hoos singing as the original story ending goes on. With the Grinch celebrating with the people in Hoovile while Jack's lifeless body stays there and the final shot is The Grinch making a evil smirk as the camera cuts to black saying Merry Christmas.
A Mean Christmas How the Nightmare Began Violent Night, Violent Fright, Silent Fight (like Silent Night) Snatching Through The Snow (instead of dashing) This naming thing is so fun btw, I'd love this to continue in future uploads.
Narrator: The Whos down in whoville liked Christmas alot While The Grinch of Christmas really did not Jack Skellington was The Nightmare Before Christmas And so very much did he miss it Grinch: I'm sure the Whos wouldn't mind me stealing Christmas. Yeah, they look happy enough. Jack Skellington: I'm ready to take Christmas and put it on a whole other level. I'm sure people won't mind. *Jack Skellington and The Grinch got into their Santa outfits. Jack Skellington was above the Whos dropping presents while The Grinch was taking presents. That's when The Grinch was hit on the head with a present* The Grinch: Hey, that guy is stealing Christmas. That's my job. Narrator: *The Grinch gets a pogo and jumps on to Jack Skellington's sleigh. The Grinch starts to yell at Jack Skellington* Jack Skellington: Whoa, be careful. Who are you? The Grinch: Who I am is not important. But I can tell you that you need to leave. Jack Skellington: I'm afraid not. But maybe..... The Grinch: Fine, we'll settle this like real men. Narrator: *The Grinch kicks Jack Skellington and Skellington almost loses his balance* Jack Skellington: I see. Narrator: *The Grinch takes out some of his traps while Skellington is digging in the sack. The Grinch has a shovel while Skellington has a steel bat with spikes on it. Their weapons clash creating sparks of fire. Their weapons continue to clash and finally The Grinch's shovel was thrown out* Jack Skellington: No more shovel huh? The Grinch: I'm not done with you yet. Narrator: *The Grinch takes out a rocket launcher with real rockets. Well, they are actually metal bars with fire in them but The Grinch is one to bluff* Jack Skellington: Where are you getting this stuff? Narrator: *BAM! A wave of rockets are being fired by The Grinch but Skellington's flexible body starts to dodge and Skellington goes under the sleigh* The Grinch: Come out, coward. Narrator: *The Grinch fires a rocket under sleigh* Jack Skellington: Are you insane! You'll blow us up! Narrator: *A general notices the fight from below* General: Aim..... FIRE! *The Grinch and Skellington are blown out of the sky. They're now going tumbling down with fire at the end of the sleigh* Jack Skellington: Look at what you have done! The Grinch: That wasn't me! Narrator: *Skellington and The Grinch have broken into Oogie Boogie's layer and are now wandering around* The Grinch: I could make this place into my secret hide out. Jack Skellington: That would make you no better than him. Narrator: *Skellington and The Grinch both grab a sword from the ground. Skellington swipes towards The Grinch. The Grinch backs up and into a lever which causes a flow of lava into a giant metal bucket. The Grinch and Skellington start to clash their swords with each other as lava continues to fill up the giant metal bucket. Skellington and The Grinch leap onto the pillar standing in the lava. Skellington loses his sword but so does The Grinch. The Grinch takes out a cannon that shoots out presents* The Grinch: Listen pumpkin head, I've had it up to here with you. Jack Skellington: I could say the same thing to you. Narrator: *The Grinch fires a ton of presents towards Skellington. Skellington gets hit by one of them and loses his balance then falls off the pillar* The Grinch: I won. Hahahaha! Narrator: *Just then, The Grinch is taken by surprise when he sees Skellington is latched onto the side of the giant metal bucket. The Grinch tries to kick Skellington but Skellington dodges and grabs The Grinch's leg then swaps with him. The Grinch has no flexible body so he couldn't latch onto the side of the metal bucket. The Grinch falls into the lava, screaming then burning until he is nothing but a pile of mush. Apparently, that Grinch was a fake. As the real Grinch jumps into Skellington unable to let him move. Skellington starts to slowly burn into a white liquid which is The Grinch's cue to hop off. The Grinch smiles as Skellington melts away. The Grinch climbs out of Oogie Boogie's layer* The Grinch: That'll teach you to do my job. Santa: The Grinch wins. The battle ends.
Christmas Creeps I came up with this one since people see them both as creepy monsters that are creeping to steal Christmas kinda like sneaking but this is just a name I came up with. the other names are good. Or maybe to make it more different Creeps Eve
Hours before christmas morning, all the Whos are still a snooze. The Grinch is loading the last of their things onto his sleigh; as he's about to make his way home, he hears the oddest thing. Instead of jingling bells, the rattle of bones, instead of a merry "Ho Ho Ho" there are wailing moans. Jack Skellington is flying across the sky, not really taking christmas but helping Sandy Claws with his route. He sees the Green Grouch and then the town. Even if not fully getting it, he knew stealing christmas was wrong. The Grinch didnt care, he saw the sack of gifts and knew the bone-head's game, he had to act fast before Christmas came.
Not related to Grinch V Jack Skellington, but i wanted to pitch some ideas for Clang-Clang VS Santa Claus (TOON Vs Violent Night) -The fight could start with Santa Claus entering into one of The Gang's houses while Clang-Clang is there for a christmas party. Santa goes to work delivering presents, only for Clang-Clang to notice and immediately take offense to this as he believes the icon of christmas is an invader. Miscommunication leads to Santa just giving up on delivering presents and coldly stating to the tin soldier that he's gonna "ship his ass back to The North Pole in pieces" before drawing his hammer, while Clang-Clang morphs his cymbals into buzzsaws. -A scene where Santa throws a tree topper at Clang-Clang, only for it to bounce off one of his cymbals and into a nearby wall. As santa rushes back to clobber him, an electrical spark starts a fire near the tree, which grows as they rage on. -Clang-Clang steals Santa's bag and uses it like an improvised flail against the jolly fatman, only stopping when Santa headbutts Clang-Clang and starts wailing on him with the hammer. -Once the flames rage high enough, Santa realizes "oh shit i'm in danger" and does his golddust teleportation trick to escape, while Clang-Clang leaps out a nearby window and clambers onto the roof. The rest of The Gang have woken up by now, and watch as the two engage in a sick roof duel at the midway point, with Clang-Clang now morphing his cymbals into drills and spiked brass knuckles to add a little OOPH to his assault. -During their fight, the roof eventually collapses into a sooty mess, causing both to fall into the now-charred household. The final act having both in a desperate struggle to put one another down. -Clang-Clang eventually manages to gravely injure Santa by sawing into his chest, causing him to collapse onto one knee as CC gloats about how "santa's just a fickle fairytale for shitty spoiled brats to enjoy" before morphing his arms into an axehead and swinging down at santa..... Only for him to catch it with one hand, and calmly state "Yeah, but atleast people believe in me" And start overpowering Clang-Clang and chucking him into a giant soot pile, only for him to reemerge in his super form. -The ending. Santa and Clang-Clang rise high into the air, the jolly fatman still smoldering from a missile barrage as CC states that he's "gonna do to you what Krampus should've done ages ago". Santa tries pulling the same trick he did on Mr. Scrooge, only for CC to angle himself down, spinning his drill fast enough to wrap Santa's golddust body around it and plunge headfirst into the chimney. Metal bumps and bangs are heard from the interior of the chimney and the camera slowly travels down..... only for a geyser of blood to explode from the in-built fireplace and Clang-Clang to fall out, drenched in Santa Claus viscera and torn apparel. CC reverts to normal, looks down at the bloody mess and back to the Gang, with Nicky saying "Great job, ya' dingus! You murdered christmas! And we ain't gonna fill in Kringle's shoes this time!" and Clang-Clang responding by sighing and rolling his eyes.
"Lean, Mean, Christmas Thieves", "Season's Thievings", "Stealing Christmas"? If the invite to name the song was legit, those are a few of my suggestions. And while I do appreciate the aesthetic of this fight, I'm something of a fan of Jack Skellington vs. Jonathan "Scarecrow" Crane, battle of the fear-mongering, scarecrow-disguised masters of the macabre.
Merry Nightmares & Holiday Sneers Merry Christmas, but Nightmares. You have the merry, intrigued Jack to represent this. Holiday Cheers becomes Holiday Sneers. The Grinch is initially a character looking down the town in the book, sneering and jeering.
As for who I'd think would win, well I'm gonna have to be biased and say Jack Skellington, mainly since the games that took place before and after the movie give Jack a lot more tools and weapons to use against the Grinch, on top of his musical powers which tends to pull his opponent into it and then cause major damage. The Grinch on the other hand has to rely on a lot of deception and trickery, not to mention has his gross-out inventions and abilities, that, while annoying, don't really cause that much pain even on the Whos if we're taking the old licensed game into account. He'd probably get an edge once he gets a strength boost, but what's the strength of ten grinches, plus two, against an incredibly agile skeleton whose thin body could get him out of many situations?

Reference to the song "Making Christmas" from Jack's material along with the intentions of the characters.
"Taking Christmas" is perfect.

“Halloween is Grinch Night” come on you know it’s perfect
I picture this fight taking place while both sled down the Grinch’s Mountain, and that just feels so fitting. It’s an action packed tune, it’s got Christmas aesthetics, and I can absolutely see the Grinch win with some nasty tricks!
He even has the strength of 10 Grinches... Plus 2!
@@swagsloth4037 Grinch actually has cartoon feats to survive something like that, he can also read minds 🎅
They should be around equal in speed.
This match whenever it happens should be the first ever stop motion death battle
Jack: I will not let you steal Christmas!
The Grinch: Isn’t that what you’re doing?
Jack: Kind of, but my idea’s different and way less petty!
3:03 It almost sounded like The Grinch won.
However, at 3:52, it sounded like Jack Skellington won.
Rooting both, betting Jack.
Very accurate opinion
This has become one of my most wanted Death Battles over the past month, so sad it lost in the tournament of champions
The Fight Before Christmas
Edit: Also, damn this goes hard. Great job as always Therewolf.
Fright Before Christmas
"Christmas won't miss us" (It has rhymes as a doctor seuss story)
Awesome track!
I love this matchup, wish I could’ve made the track art. I would totally have called it “Stolen Nightmares”
They need to make this their first Christmas episode
This is the Stolen Christmas
I can imagine when Jack try to go into the Christmas World. He ended up in Whoville instead and find the Grinch who was trying already to steal Christmas but Jack try to stop him and take Christmas for his home instead.
Taking Christmas is probably the best one you'll get.
Also this track rocks, love it.
Omfg this is amazing. This is one of my most wanted matchups and this song fits PERFECTLY to literally everything I had imagined for a fight between these two. AND it fucking slaps
Names? I got a lot of those
Nightmare of a stolen Christmas :
Stolen nightmare :
Whovile haunt :
The Fight before Christmas : Just a few :p
Here’s how I think the fight should go and the time stamps for the events
0:00 narrator talks
0:08 jack and grinch run into each other in the same house
0:37 fight starts inside the house
1:28 they break through the roof and start fighting in the rooftops
2:00 grinches ladder legs break and shoots them both into the air
2:04 they land on the grinches mountain and their Santa outfits fall off
2:28 jack gets put into grinches whatever acid trip wagon dimension. And then powers straight through it
2:46 jack gets back to reality and tries to stop grinch from pushing all the presents of the cliff
3:03 they fall of the edge and but see all the townspeople not caring about the presents ( grinches heart grows as well ) and then they start fighting for the right reasons
3:43 jack grabs G by the arm and tells him to save Christmas for him then throws him to safety while jack falls down to his demise. But Knowing Christmas is saved
3:53 grinch puts back on his now broken Santa hat and sets off to save the holiday. While the narrator starts talking again to finish the fight ( the grinch wins )
How the nightmare stole before Christmas.
With that out of the way, this music is Awesome!!
But seriously, if this fight were to become a thing, would it be fitting if the entire rundown was spoken in rhyme?
Christmas rumble. Now this is a track worthy of THE PUMPKIN KING!
Great ideas so far! Keep ‘em coming
Do one with warrior cats
I mean if you're taking free requests, I mean, if you want some really outlandish VS matches.. Paradox (yugioh) vs Zamasu (dragonball)? Two madmen who transcended time and time travel to (what they believe) fix the universe only to end up making it far worse.
toree vs kiwi (toree 3D vs super kiwi 64) would be pretty good, I mean, idrk.
Someone already said it but I'll say it too. Taking Christmas is a solid name for this track
How is this not an actual Death battle episode yet?!!
It’s in Tournament Of Champions
@Kokatsona and I'm hoping it happens soon. Probably next seasons Christmas special
I love this matchup so much, I'm glad you made a track for it. This should be named "Stolen before Christmas"
I think “you better watch out” could work for this match. Either way, this track ROCKS
The fright before Christmas, The heist before Christmas lol
The fight before Christmas.
The Fight-mare Before Christmas is the best name i can think of.
Great track as always, Therewolf.
I came up with the same name.
How about “the FRIGHT before Christmas” also fitting for as someone as scary as Jack or as grinchy as the grinch
I'm not good on title names for certain franchises, but never would I expect another upload from you after the second batch finishing. Wow this one's a banger!
Thanks!
So like, any of us could give it a name?
Goddamn this is amazing, great job man
The best track name I can think of is “ The Nightmare That Stole a Christmas. “
For an ending, I'd like it if upon his death, the Grinch comes back as a zombie and Jack let's the Grinch live in Halloween town. That way, the Grinch finally finds a place to call home :D even if he had to die to do it but eh don't think about it too hard
Some ideas:
How The Grinch Stole Halloween.
Grinch Night (like the movie).
This is Christmas.
Grinch Skellington.
Grinchmas.
Three Sizes of Halloween
Grinch-O-Ween
What's this? What's this? A Therwolf Media track of The Grinch vs Jack Skellington with no name?
What a wonderful gift. and for the names... there are many options.
''The Death Battle Before Chirstmas''
''The Stole Before Christmas''
''Silent Night, Grinchy Night''
''Christmas Robbers''
''Mean Nightmares''
''Who's This?''
''You're a Scary one''
''This is Christmas''
And those are the only ones that come to my mind.
Happy Holidays to all.
How The Nightmare Stole Christmas (The Grinch vs Jack Skellington)
The grinches heart grows 3 sizes. Giving him the strength 10 + 2 grinches! Seems like a good power up.
MAX! Hey, I missed ya man! Keep up the good work at GalaxyVideo!
You know Jack gonna slam the Grinch with his Soul Robber!
How about, “How the Nightmare Stole Christmas”
I know I am VERY late, but I have 2 things to say
1: this track is absolutely amazing
2: I have a script for how this fight goes if it were to ever happen.
*the grinch would be flying towards who-ville, all in preparation to steal Christmas, however, a certain skeleton would ride next to him, not quite on his wishlist*
Jack: “please sir, I’ve heard of your plans, your misdeeds, please turn back, I do plead”
Grinch: “are my eyes deceiving me? It’s the pumpkin king from Halloween town! Surely your just fooling around”
Jack: “I assure you I’m not, I’m trying to stop this before it’s too late!”
Grinch: “then get out of my way, before I get rid of you post-haste.”
Jack: “why does nothing ever turn out like it should… I guess a brawl will stop him, it potentially could…”
*_FIGHT_*
*Jack would ram his sleigh into the grinch’s, the grinch would start firing with as the rotten egg launcher, preparing to shoot Jack out of the sky*
*the skellington got shot down quick, but that was not enough for him to say goodbye, the would use his soul robber, fit for grappling and attacking, the grinch knew exactly that this fight was about to happen.*
*the duo would go blow for blow, tit for tat, since neither would gain the upper hand on the other due to the grinches strength, and Jacks speed… however, neither of them noticed that the sleigh was plummeting down the mountain*
Grinch: Max! Pull us up, Now, I don’t want to be subjected to an end so foul!
*it would be too late, as the sleigh crashed into the snowy floor, however, both of them had a lot more in store*
*Jacks soul robber would turn blue, the grinch now realized that the thing was much more than a tool*
*Jack would slam it down on the grinch, the whip turning into a spiked ball, crushing the grinch flat, however… the grinch would become a giant, planning to stomp jack flat, and then return to taking Christmas right after that*
*suddenly, Jack would start dancing while singing a tune, making sure the grinch would lose*
Jack: what’s this? A trick? I’m not impressed. First you’re bad and now you’re tall, it makes it all the worthwhile to see the giant fall.
*a bunch of music notes would hit the grinch in the face, he prepared a counter, no more he would take*
Grinch: you might have magic that I haven’t heard of, but I’ve gotten some tricks in mind that you won’t even be able to get a WORD from.
*the grinch would shrink, and pull out a small machine, muting the skeleton entirely, just for Jack to immediately destroy it right as he realized what was happening*
Grinch: max! Get the wagon! Hurry up or no supper, I need to make this skeleton suffer.
*the grinch would keep shooting at Jack with his rotten egg launcher, while Jack would switch into his sandy claws outfit*
*He would trap the grinch in ice using a frozen pumpkin, however the grinch would break out quickly, retaliating by attempting to trap the skeleton in goo, however, Jack’s body would then turn into a liquid like substance, ducking under the attack before turning right back to his normal self*
*max would come back with the pallenelia wagon (hope I spelled this right*
Grinch: tell me pumpkin king, do you feel fear?
*jack would get warped out of the snowy area, and into the wagon, however… while a normal person would be terrified and trapped in there for much longer, Jack would love it, even though every monster in there wanted his head*
Jack: This is truly amazing! Nothing like this is IN Halloween town!
*meanwhile, the grinch would go around his usual antics, stealing presents from the entire village, however, he wouldn’t run into Cindy Lou-who, since he was in such a rush, and would head back up mount Krump-it in order to dump it*
*Jack skellington would get out sooner than expected, as he had no fear of the wagon’s inside, having no fear has become a habit*
Jack: oh dear! He’s already heading up the mountain!
*Jack would latch onto the grinch’s sleigh using the soul robber*
Grinch: quit it you mangy skeleton! I’m trying to get rid of their clingy and clangy toys!
*they would race up the mountain, both the grinch and jack would throw everything in store, but neither would let up, up till furthermore… Jack would dawn his sandy claws outfit once more, and ice would rain from the sky, spinning the grinch out of control*
Grinch: Stop you idiot! Don’t you realize where we are, we’re at the peak of the mountain! Give up before this goes too far.
Jack: now do you realize the terrors this scrap has brung, stop now before-
*the grinch would shoot Jack with his egg launcher, launching him back down the mountains snowy side*
Grinch: I… I did it! I finally got him! Hahaha!
*as he said that, Jack would extend his legs to be SKYSCRAPERS tall, to catch up to the grinch, he would have to give his all*
Grinch: drat! Christmas is already here, it’s only a matter of time before all the-
Jack: where were we?
*he would tear the grinch out of his sleigh, making sure that he’d pay*
*the grinch was ready to fight like never before, but before he could… fire would raise around Jack, and out came his pumpkin king outfit*
*fire would raise from the ground, all around the grinch, before a pumpkin bomb was thrown at him, right in a cinch*
Grinch: oh no.
*the mountain top would explode, and both the grinch and Jack would be falling through the sky, along with the sleigh…*
*then the grinch would give off a sinister smile, this skeletons day had finally came*
*Jack would let loose while in the air, using his spicy bottle to turn himself into a flaming fireball, hitting the grinch multiple times as he dashed through the air, but before he could finish the job… he knew that the time he had in that form was unfair*
*Jack would turn back into his base state, as the grinch, who tanked all the attacks, fired back with his rotten egg launcher, blowing a piece of jacks skull off, right as he does so, he pulls out a candy cane, turning into a propeller that would lift grinch into the air, sky high!*
Grinch: so long jack, I sure hope you know a way to come back!
*Jack was outsmarted, he would be doomed by the fall, as a final pushback… he said*
*Jack: Merry Christmas! To one and all!*
*those were the last things Jack spoke, before everything went up in smoke… he would fall from great heights, while being crushed by the sleigh for good measure, all to the grinches sick pleasure, as he laughed at his downfall*
*meanwhile, watching from afar, zero would whimper in sadness, just to fly away from this madness…*
*_K.O_*
How about "Yuletide Terror?", I think that's got a good ring to it.
Reminder: there an actual Nightmare Before Christmas game in the style of Devil May Cry by Capcom themselves.

I'd edit the post, but I don't want the heart removed, lol.
Im glad it provoked imagination for you! Thanks for listening.
I second that
Awesome score, it be cool if the fight did happen someday
As for name "Grinchmas Nightmare"
A Really good name would be Grinch Nightmare since it's a reference to the spin-off film "Dr. Seuss: Halloween is Grinch Night" with the Nightmare being part of the "Nightmare before Christmas" name.
Man, finally this dream match up got his score and I freaking love it.
As the name??? I really like "How the nightmare was stole before christmas" maybe a bit longer, but I think it sounds good.
"How the Nightmare Stole Christmas"
Hey Theirwolf. You should do this idea more often with us the fans having to come up with the track name. Love your work as well.
"Season's Stealings", "Nightmare's Eve", "Silent Night".
Unlucky.
I dunno, if they use Grinch’s other specials he’s got a lot of other gadgets. And even a bag that’s had a pocket dimension of lovecraftian horrors
Sounds cool, but I'm pretty sure Jack has no intestines.
I don’t think the grinch could
"Turn Your Fear into Christmas Cheer"
A Mean Christmas
How the Nightmare Began
Violent Night, Violent Fright, Silent Fight (like Silent Night)
Snatching Through The Snow (instead of dashing)
This naming thing is so fun btw, I'd love this to continue in future uploads.
2:07 sounds like the home alone theme, I can’t be the only one hearing this
I’ll just take my best shot at some possible names:
Yuletide Terrors

“Thank God It’s Christmas” ;)
I see what you did there. Love it~
Therewolf, back at it again? What an early Christmas surprise!
How about we call It... Christmases Nightmares
Narrator: The Whos down in whoville liked Christmas alot
While The Grinch of Christmas really did not
Jack Skellington was The Nightmare Before Christmas
And so very much did he miss it
Grinch: I'm sure the Whos wouldn't mind me stealing Christmas.
That's when The Grinch was hit on the head with a present*
The Grinch: Hey, that guy is stealing Christmas. That's my job.
Narrator: *The Grinch gets a pogo and jumps on to Jack Skellington's sleigh. The Grinch starts to yell at Jack Skellington*
Jack Skellington: Whoa, be careful. Who are you?
The Grinch: Who I am is not important. But I can tell you that you need to leave.
Jack Skellington: I'm afraid not. But maybe.....
The Grinch: Fine, we'll settle this like real men.
Narrator: *The Grinch kicks Jack Skellington and Skellington almost loses his balance*
Jack Skellington: I see.
Narrator: *The Grinch takes out some of his traps while Skellington is digging in the sack. The Grinch has a shovel while Skellington has a steel bat with spikes on it. Their weapons clash creating sparks of fire. Their weapons continue to clash and finally The Grinch's shovel was thrown out*
Jack Skellington: No more shovel huh?
The Grinch: I'm not done with you yet.
Narrator: *The Grinch takes out a rocket launcher with real rockets. Well, they are actually metal bars with fire in them but The Grinch is one to bluff*
Jack Skellington: Where are you getting this stuff?
Narrator: *BAM! A wave of rockets are being fired by The Grinch but Skellington's flexible body starts to dodge and Skellington goes under the sleigh*
The Grinch: Come out, coward.
Narrator: *The Grinch fires a rocket under sleigh*
Jack Skellington: Are you insane! You'll blow us up!
Narrator: *A general notices the fight from below*
General: Aim..... FIRE!
*The Grinch and Skellington are blown out of the sky. They're now going tumbling down with fire at the end of the sleigh*
Jack Skellington: Look at what you have done!
The Grinch: That wasn't me!
Narrator: *Skellington and The Grinch have broken into Oogie Boogie's layer and are now wandering around*
The Grinch: I could make this place into my secret hide out.
The Grinch takes out a cannon that shoots out presents*
The Grinch: Listen pumpkin head, I've had it up to here with you.
Jack Skellington: I could say the same thing to you.
Narrator: *The Grinch fires a ton of presents towards Skellington. Skellington gets hit by one of them and loses his balance then falls off the pillar*
The Grinch: I won.
The Grinch climbs out of Oogie Boogie's layer*
The Grinch: That'll teach you to do my job.
Santa: The Grinch wins. The battle ends.
I like how you put Santa at the end!
Can’t really think of anything besides “What’s This in Whoville?” I’m sure there are better options though.
“The Battle For Whoville” Sounds cool
Yes!!! Want super bad! With games and KH and such, fairly sure Jack has plenty of feats
Mate, these are just Christmas cartoons, why'd you go so hard?! Thank you tho, I really love these 2 characters.
Spirits before Christmas? Idk that’s the best I can come up with
Christmas Creeps I came up with this one since people see them both as creepy monsters that are creeping to steal Christmas kinda like sneaking but this is just a name I came up with. the other names are good. Or maybe to make it more different Creeps Eve
Wolf listen man, if this death battle does happen this or next season, this quite literally has to be a musical.
"All together, that and this, with all my tricks, I'm taking Christmas time." -Jack and the Grinch.
A Banger track as usual, doing a great job Therewolf!
I like to call this track "Merry Nightmare's Spirit"
I really like this one Therewolf great job and perfect fit for Christmas😁👍
My favorite is: The Heist Before Christmas.
Edit: I love the other name even more! Good pick!
This is my most wanted match-up for the show right now so I'm glad to see it be commissioned for a track.
The only thing I can think of is
"ON HALLOWEEN NIGHT."
what a wonderful combination! this turned out great!
This is a genuine banger! Definitely gonna be back here next Christmas!
“The Nightmare That Stole Christmas!”
Amazing song! Truly a chilling theme while not forgeting the cheer there's mesnt to be, as for the title, how about "The Theft Before Christmas"?
Ohh, I Got it: Grinch-Mas Nightmares
Not related to Grinch V Jack Skellington, but i wanted to pitch some ideas for Clang-Clang VS Santa Claus (TOON Vs Violent Night)
-The fight could start with Santa Claus entering into one of The Gang's houses while Clang-Clang is there for a christmas party.
Merry Nightmares & Holiday Sneers
Merry Christmas, but Nightmares. You have the merry, intrigued Jack to represent this.
Holiday Cheers becomes Holiday Sneers. The Grinch is initially a character looking down the town in the book, sneering and jeering.
I call it the nightmare who stole Christmas
I think nightmares who stole works better since there's two of them.
Love the song, as for a name... how about The Fight-mare Before Christmas.
I feel like "The nightmare that stole Christmas" could work but I'm not too good at coming up with names for stuff so there might be better names lol
The Grinchful Nightmare?
The Nightmare before Grinchmas?
Makes your pick
The Halloween that stole Christmas
But nice track and I hear tracks from both.
"Stealing Before Christmas"
“The nightmare that stole Christmas”
Perfect song to listen to on Christmas, and also, when is the next vs track coming out?
It’s not bias he would win
Dreaming of a Red Christmas
EDIT: Changed my mind; I think "Wreck the Halls" is a better idea.
"The Nightmare Before Stolen Christmas"
