I didn’t ask for the wars in Afghan or Iraq, nor Ukraine, nor did I ask that my taxes go to Medicare/caid welfare, public schools, FICA or social security. The money exists to pay off loans. We can easily cancel debt giving people money to actually out towards buying home and starting a family. Isn’t that what conservatives are supposed to support?

About his predatory lending, and the fact that universities keep jacking their prices. I personally think that if you can’t pay for college, the government should have a program to pay for you to get at least an undergrad. That is opportunity and improve. Educated populous is better for the country as a whole.
It’s funny to me that Jesse Waters is using Biden‘s infrastructure plan as a reason that we need more blue-collar workers. I think there should be a government plan available for folks to go to trade school or college not both.

Cancelling student loan debt is unconstitutional. They took out those loans,they NEED to pay that debt.

It made me sick when people in college threw fits about out mandatory internship, because their mom and dad wanted them to “focus on their school”. They didn’t focus on school, they focused on their “college experience” then complained that they couldn’t get a job as good as mine when we graduated!

Absolutely, I paid for my son's college. I made sacrifices in order to do this. Didn't buy any new clothes, no vacations, cut costs wherever I could. That's how I did it. I am not wealthy and wasn't back then when I paid his tuition. My son also worked part-time while going to school. Also, some colleges give free tuition if you work there. Where there's a will there's a way.

My wife and I got married young and we managed a pizza restaurant full time while we went to school and earned our Bachelor’s degrees. Working full time and going to school we worked our rear ends off. We paid for our education 100% ourselves, not the tax payer, not our parents, we worked full time to pay our own way. We were responsible to not get over our heads in debt even if that meant taking fewer classes some semesters to be sure we could pay for it. It took us longer to graduate but we graduated debt free and actually got degrees in something you can make a career out of. We have since both been successful in life. I have always paid my own way or done without. I resent paying for irresponsible people.

The student loan cancelation project is not being understood. The debt is not canceled it is absorbed by all US taxpayers. We, the people, have to pay more federal income taxes to pay for the "Canceled Student Loans."

I worked for a Dr. that worked his butt off to pay off his student loans. He set a goal to not make any major purchases until he paid off his loans. I can’t remember if it was 3 or 5 years, but he did it and then started saving for a home and he totally did it. He didn’t whine to his parents or the government to help him with his loans. My daughter paid cash for her daughter to go to nursing school. She didn’t ask for help from us, she just saved. FJB

I got through college and law school by working, getting scholarships and taking out loans. Yes, I repaid the loans, but I have absolutely no problem with the proposed debt forgiveness. While school seemed expensive, it was nothing compared to today's outrageous tuition and boarding costs. And loans were not usurious as they are today. Why not help those who were unlucky enough to be born in a time when college is affordable only to those with wealthy parents?
Who do you think is gonna pay for it? The people that have already had to pay for college on their own. We the tax payers. So I should have to pay for myself to go to college, then pay for everyone else who didn’t work during college, took out a loan and wants “free money”. Literally the dumbest thing ever.

This will burden millions of Americans, by forcing them to pay for the choices of others. My husband and I both worked while he went to school....we paid half thru the 12 month program out of pocket (760 a month) while having to take out a loan for the rest. He graduated in 2013 - we are still paying off that loan. My husband worked 2 jobs (one FT job in his field he went to school for and another PT job on the weekends) while I went to school and I worked also. I was able to graduate debt free. I don't want anybody ESPECIALLY THE GOVERNMENT to pay off any of our loan. I WILL NOT burden other Americans for our choices. The choices we made have given us both great careers that we are proud of. And Frankly....I want the government in my life and business as least as possible. We will work hard for our money and our future and I do not need nor want the Government (Daddy) to dictate any part of that. Also.....the Government does not just cater to the wealthy..........if that is really what you believe then I will repeat my first statement......go get yourself a basic economics lesson. There are so many more intricacies involved. Also the top 1% of the most wealthy pays for more than half of ALL federal taxes. Please get off the intranet and go read a book. Rent one first for free from the library though before you decide to get a useless 4 year degree and then expect someone else to pay for it.

Nonsense!!! As a mom of six, I went back to college, and finished my education degree. No, I wasn’t going to a school I could not afford. I chose a school that I could afford, with real teachers who focused on the curriculum and not nonsense. Taxpayers should not be held accountable for stupid decisions politicians make to increase their opportunity of getting their vote.
It was the federalizing of all student debt that caused this entire problem. I dont have any student debt, so why do I have to pay back their debt?
Stop awarding student loans. There is a direct correlation between the increased cost of education and when student loans started to be awarded.
Also once the fed government got involved with education loans the colleges saw dollar signs in their eyes. So the cost of college is the college them selves and the government.
I'm 52 years old I paid all my student loans off and my house is paid off and I've been to 49 states and half of Canada make these kids grow up and do not allow him to buy their vote
Really Jessica there is a lot of programs for seniors??? I can barely live off of my work social security. And I know this awful problem is there for many many seniors throughout our country.
