Excellent job. That mirror is at least 45 years old. My mom bought that brand new, back around 1981. It came with a large picture frame that looked just like it, that had a print in it. Originally, it was a mate golem color but this really takes it up a notch. Beautifully repurposed.
What level of courseness of the sandpaper/sanding block did you use? What kinds of brushes did you use? This was a good video. I want to try this with a floor mirror, but the frame isn't as ornate. Product links would be helpful.
I just now saw this sorry its been years, I am pretty sure it was dollar tree sandpaper and the eBay link is no longer available for the gold leaf. I also used mod podge for the glue

Well I'm grateful for some background on it. I still use it to this day
It came out so good and I love the rainbow on the wall at the end:)
Absolutely Beautiful ❣️
I lurve it! Been looking for a way to add some shine to a few pieces without gold spray-paint; thanks for the tutorial!
No problem I am glad tou you liked it!
Wowowowow looks great!!!!!
Thank you!
Holly crap! that's a nice mirror!
Thank you
Where did you get the Mirror?
You did an outstanding job...👏👏
Beautiful!
You could’ve also removed the paint with acetone. That way you wouldn’t wear down some of the details with sanding
Although true I would still have to send to make sure that my goldleaf still grips to something
😳 that looks great

hi! love this, what search terms did you use to find this style of mirror
I searched large 'wooden mirrors' or 'antique mirror'
🔥
You need to let the glue go sticky. Wait at least 5 minutes before applying gold 😊
With gold leafing, you require a base coat.
Woooooow I can’t believe you paid $40 bucks I bought the same exact mirror on OfferUp from someone for $250 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄
Oof! Yeah i know how expensive gold mirrors get. Ive seen this mirror spray painted and sold at markets for $300 too. Its crazy
Well you most definitely got lucky
