It really is kind of great how Rian Johnson, a writer/director famous for subverting expectations, subverted expectations with his own created world. The whole "glass onion" metaphor really is apt. Hi, love both of your reactions. I've watched your TEAM AMERICA reaction 4 times, it's hilarious just laughing with both of you. Sorry if this seems kinda random, but there are three movies that you should be sure to watch the Theatrical Cut and not the Director's Cut: I Am Legend and The Butterfly Effect and Stephen King's 1408. No spoilers here, but the Director's Cuts for all 3 movies tested very poorly with audiences. So, powers-that-be had reshoots for all 3 movies and created extremely different endings. All 3 movies were released in the 2000s in 2-Disc DVD sets, with both versions. BUT, when the movies were initially released onto streaming services, only the Director's Cuts were available. Over the years, all 3 had the theatrical releases included on streaming services, but in my opinion, the damage was already done, because the 3 movies became known as having poor endings for the 1st decade of people who exclusively watched movies by streaming them. The 3 Theatrical Cuts are all very good movies, worth your reaction or viewing. I hope you found this information useful.
If you like puzzles, then there are some youtube channels that are posting videos with different kinds of puzzles: small boxes (like that one in the movie), huge ones as big as desk or wardrobe, etc.
A few things I love about the film 1. Throughout the film they show hints that miles is a fraud and an idiot He tells blanc that he had someone else design the boxes and the murder mystery for him, Miles's dock is useless outside of high tide He keeps his car on the roof rather than parked on the ground cause he thinks if he can't drive it, it doesn't need to be there He never thought to burn or detour the napkin until Lionel mentions it etc. 2. A glass onion is an allegory for something that seems layered but is simple and see through like miles 3. Helen wears her hair to the opposite side Andi did She also tells the group "My life was taken, by everyone here, my life!" She knows her sister was killed and ruined by the group. Etc.
Really enjoy this period it's both formulate and inventive. Ryan does lean Little heavily on the placement of his flashbacks to mislead that it becomes obvious that he is misleading you with them . The twin twist was the only surprise and even that has been done before period the whole thing of a party invite people over who might want to have a chance to kill you and then it turns out that you are the one trying to kill them again very formulate but In an inventive And entertaining way
I love how wrong I was lol. For some reason, I thought it was going to be one of those "and it was all a dream/hallucination" after seeing their "throat spray" montage lol.
If you wanted to get the Misses into an anime Case Closed/Detective Conan would be good one for her to watch a season of it. There's over 1000 episodes and it's been on since 1996. After a while it becomes a little to formulaic but a single season every few years is a decent way to watch it. I really don't hear anybody bring it up ever but it's consistently good and is truly a Sherlock Holmes style murder mystery series.

A Knives Out Mystery The 2019 original Knives Out and the 2022 sequel Glass Onion are rewatchable films. Unlike other movies in the “whodunit” (murder) genre, the reveals enhanced rewatch experience as subtle clues became obvious. The director (Rian Johnson) is a master of expectation subversion and misdirection, as he made a distinctly different sequel in the same universe. Benoit Blanc (Daniel Craig) is the only returning character anchoring both movies. The first movie was set in a stuffy New England house of a patriarch and his dysfunctional family (old money-ish). The sequel was set on a private Greek island of a tech billionaire surrounded by his inner circle of “disrupters” (new money-ish). The first movie is better (in my opinion), but the second is a worthy sequel - more transparent (glass), more layered (onion), and more fun (island).

I like movies like this bc there is something going, you think bc you want to find yourself answer but also you enjoy a raid, but also they are not heavy even tho they are about murder, etc. That is why I also like films about haist and crime series. That is why my favorite francise is Ocean's movies. They have all. The best cast in the world, great mystery, casinos, haist, and a lot of humor.
Have you seen the classic Agatha Christies featuring Hercule Poirot? If not it would be great to see them on the channel - no one ever does them. There's the original Murder On the Orient Express from 1974 and Death On the Nile from 1978 - or the remakes from 2017 and 2022. Both the Orient Express films are really good, but in my opinion the 1978 Nile film is much superior to the remake. But anyway, lots of death, lots of speculation, and a great eccentric mind solving the mystery.
Disruption Theory BTW isn't really a theorem that promotes long-lasting business. Only 6% of "Disrupters" survive and basically only through other business making the mistake of buying them out. Usually they are beaten out by more stable business coopting their "Disruption" and improving on it, making it good for the market but basically the lottery level of good monetary policy on the "Disrupters" side of things. A positive example is the Iphone, Apple in general kept up daily activities as they were but rolled out an experimental innovation based on nearly 30 year old tech that was finally viable (touchscreens). This allowed them to "Disrupt" the market of button phones with barely functional screens with little disruption to themselves. If they had instead had a lot less starting capital and rolled out a single innovation instead of a device which broke the mold then their competition would have just one upped them and pushed them out or at best bought them out for patents. (which Apple didn't have since the touch screen and everything else in the Iphone 1 was really old tech just put together with new much faster chipsets in great ways)
The acting in this is so great. I liked the first movie better, but this one was more fun. Each person played their character so well, especially Janelle Monae, Edward Norton and Kate Hudson.

@@kevjohn2006 We are never told what the police investigation concluded. An investigation should have revealed the email Andi sent and made it highly suspicious that she would then kill herself a few hours later. Would Duke keep his mouth shut about seeing Miles if questioned by the police? Was Miles very distinctive car spotted by the neighbors or recorded on security footage?
@@przemekkozlowski7835 Especially since Miles' car is a one of a kind and goes wherever he goes.
I enjoyed it, but I preferred the first one more. Looking forward to the next one though 👍🏻
One thing missing from this movie that I wish they had was during the scene of a start where hes playing that game online with people if Marta was 1 of the people
13:45: "... cause we watched her destroy her box, right?" I would say, YEAH! LOL!
You wouldn’t know about her hair before hand because she was wearing something covering it, which was of course intentional.
This movie was so much fun
I love Blanc. He’s super smart without being an asshole like BBC Sherlock.
the crowd applause for when ur kid came in is so funny please do it every time
Great movie. Even better than the first one.
Helen was my favorite character. I think i thought it was Myles was going to be the bad guy soon after they got to the island. I haven't seen the first Knives out yet so i can't compare them.
"And Then There Were None" (which might be one of the influences on this one) and "See How They Run" are both good.
Another great murder mystery movie you guys can watch and love "Murder on the orient express".
Watch the one with Albert Finney or the one with David Suchet.
29:00 : Frank T.J. Mackey (Tom Cruise) outfit from Magnolia
If you play back the movie you can see him give him the glass. It's like in the movie Knives Out with the footprint on the windowsill. When you play it back, you see Marta step over it, not on it. So it couldn't have been her, but you dont think about small things like that.
You can see it, at 23:12.
@@wwoods66 Yeah. I'm just saying that when you're watching the movie the first time you don't pick up on it and just gloss over it. I'm paying extra attention when I watch the next Benoit Blanc Mystery lol.
It should have been called Glass Onion: A Benoit Blanc Mystery
Dr. Disrespect is a character, Duke is Joe Rogan
Mrs. on the roll with her guesses. I didn't even remember what he was allergic to
Just in case it wasn't clear, later blanc hears what that captain on the boat called the dock and he understands that the guy was trying to speak in English: "Piece of Shit"
That was Leroy, not Blanc.
@@przemekkozlowski7835 yeah I realized afterwards thanks for the correction.
42:19 I just realized that Birdie called her Andie twice and then called her Helen
Can see why Mr Movies identifies with Duke. Must have felt like he was staring at a mirror…. 😂
Raising Arizona
there are 7 mona lisas which is the original, the only way you know is that da vinci painted a previous woman on the canvas before the mona lisa was painted over the original
Of course, the real Mona Lisa was painted on canvas stretched on wood, not just canvas. So the one Miles had...was probably not the original. Also, the guitar wasn't actually Paul McCartney's, because Paul McCartney is left-handed. This is intentional. Miles Bron is an idiot who buys things that aren't real because he's too stupid to know the difference.
@@snorpenbass4196 i know that the film was okay , but not as good as the first one more of a comedy to be honest
but i let it pass ,but i would not watch it again
Nice cameo from Hugh Grant as Blanc's husband.
One of my favorite murder mystery movies was the 1982 "Deathtrap" with Micheal Caine and Christopher Reeves.
Loved the reaction! If you love murder mysteries, watch either Bodies Bodies Bodies or Last of Shiela next, please i beg!
So my sacred shakra is my nether regions is this why I'm single?! Hahaha
A few things I love about the film
1. Throughout the film they show hints that miles is a fraud and an idiot
He tells blanc that he had someone else design the boxes and the murder mystery for him,
Miles's dock is useless outside of high tide
He keeps his car on the roof rather than parked on the ground cause he thinks if he can't drive it, it doesn't need to be there
He never thought to burn or detour the napkin until Lionel mentions it etc.
2. A glass onion is an allegory for something that seems layered but is simple and see through like miles
3. Helen wears her hair to the opposite side Andi did
She also tells the group "My life was taken, by everyone here, my life!"
She knows her sister was killed and ruined by the group.
Etc.
Really enjoy this period it's both formulate and inventive. Ryan does lean Little heavily on the placement of his flashbacks to mislead that it becomes obvious that he is misleading you with them . The twin twist was the only surprise and even that has been done before period the whole thing of a party invite people over who might want to have a chance to kill you and then it turns out that you are the one trying to kill them again very formulate but In an inventive And entertaining way
The one thing that's been bothering me is, How much is their witness testimony worth, given that they've already all perjured themselves?
A great mystery film involving murder you should check out is "LA Confidential". Not just a murder mystery and done extremely well.
The most random thing is the fight club portrait
Your kid was a jump scare, holy crap!
An extra cameo: Joseph Gordon Levitt was the one saying, "DONG"
such a good one! since y’all like murder mysteries you should watch “See How They Run”. just came out this last year!
😂😂😂 my life… my 2 yr old always wanna interrupt my streaming when he’s supposed to be sleep
You guys have the cutest Technical difficulties XD
Honestly I liked this movie better than the first.
Me too.
I love how wrong I was lol. For some reason, I thought it was going to be one of those "and it was all a dream/hallucination" after seeing their "throat spray" montage lol.
"You're Welcome!" lol
Blanc is French for white, which is a character in the game Clue. How ironic.
Cool movie. Oh, hello Agnatha Harkness. Nice reaction.
i’d love to see what you’d think of Bones and All (2022).
I think that Glass Onion was as good as, but more fun, than Knives Out.
I know I had subscribed to you guys and then I see this video and realize I haven’t see anything of yours in a while and I realize that I’m not subscribed !!! But I know I did! UA-cam definitely has removed my subscription from other channels before
A Knives Out Mystery
The 2019 original Knives Out and the 2022 sequel Glass Onion are rewatchable films.
I did suspect that Miles Bron had lured them all there to kill them all
*this was way betr than expected. tho twins are always a dbl swap, & a partner is comn.* except i guessed wrong, and it wasnt? but only this one time. but gd. _JC
I'm sorry but great mystery is not born of contrivance and coincidence.
I liked this little more, but It may he cast, bc I really like actors here... Hmm..
But I agree the are fir me quiet at the same level, very goid movies, fun to watch and interesting.
This is the second of the trilogy. I believe the first one came out in 2019. Reaction to the first one would be great :)
The Elon movie. Love it.
I was hoping it was Blanc just because I wanted it to be him
Have you seen the classic Agatha Christies featuring Hercule Poirot?
Can't wait to see ur guys's reaction I hope y'all like it
Yo-Yo Ma
I 💜 & Own Knives Out! I 💓This Movie Also!😱🤢🤯🔫🥰🖥💗
Blonde Star of the show:)
Damn! Kate Hudson still got it #Smokeshow
Solved it in 27 min the ending was entertaining
Andi isnt dead
Such a high-tech house and it has no surveillance cameras?
Hugh Grant !
Berdie is definitely the funniest of the shitheads. The Idea to murder Andi wasn't even an idea he came up with. He hired someone to write a murder mystery plot for him, which is where he gets the idea.
have to ask something, did your hubby cut holes in the rim of his cowboy hat to accommodate his headphones. Sorry been bugging me for awhile...lol That's so country
The politician, the scientist, the model and the opportunist had a guilty conscious EXCEPT the UA-camr who was willing to do anything to succeed 🤷😅
I walked out of the room for like 30 SECONDS and then I hear the applause and realize that you're youngest daughter has probably made an appearance and I was right. 😄
Constantly subverting the genre by refusing to play by the rules. Brilliant writing.
How is he going to pull it off a third time?
