Campbell won with one QB and most his original OL. Stefanski lost not just nearly all the starters but also their backups at both positions and across the defense. 30% of the roster’s salary cap was on IR.
@@WMDistraction Bro everyone knew the Browns were one and done though and the Lions were literally missing half of their secondary and not a fully healthy offensive line for most of the year and they still somehow made it to the NFC Championship game. Stefanski is just another Freddie Kitchens who won bc of Jim Schwartz and refball. He got lucky a good majority if the season

It wasn't even Campbells fault that those 4th down plays didn't work out either. The lions weren't exactly close enough where those were guaranteed field goals and the wide receivers dropped wide open first downs. Clearly the plays were called well the receivers just kept dropping the ball. Ultimately it's not the coaches job to catch the balls it's the players and Campbell trusted his players to be able to make wide open first down catches but they let him down

Dan Campbell not getting this is a crime. The dude literally took a franchise that has been a joke for the better part of a few decades and took them all the way to the NFC Championship and nearly the Superbowl.
Not saying Stefanski didn't deserve his recognition though... Stefanski had a hell of a coaching year. Especially after losing Chubb and Watson for the year and riding off of the shoulders of Flacco, but even then... They were first round exits.
So yeah... campbell not getting this is highway robbery.
The post season isn’t taken into account with awards.

The only reason Stefanski was even in the conversation for Coach of the year... Is because he got lucky with Flacco. Cause before that... Flacco was awful for nearly a whole decade. While with the lions... No one before the year started had them going as far as they did or at least making this big of a jump within a year. Campbell took a franchise that has been a joke and has turned them into legitimate contenders. That alone is more impressive than what Stefanski had on display this year.
Although these are the same people who picked Myles Garrett over TJ Watt for DPOY. Yeah... The NFL is a joke at the moment.

Stefanski dealt with injuries on a 7 win team last year, injuries which didn't hurt them mind you. Flacco was absolutely better than the predator.

Ludicrous. But even more ludicrous is Shane Steichen not even being nominated. You shouldn’t have to make the playoffs to get nominated/win COTY. He did a lot with less compared to teams like the Ravens & 49’ers.
@@Austin.Kilgore They lost to the texans in week 17 to miss playoffs. That's why Ryans is the clear #2 and Steichen wasn't nominated. It would have been reveresed if Colts beat the Texans.

John Harbaugh and Kyle Shanahan had stacked teams, of course they were successful as they were… I don’t think they should’ve been nominated over Shane Steichen.

Dameco took the 32nd rated defense and a 3 year team that was 3-13 last year, and not only won a pretty stacked division in the AFC South, but also won a playoff game with rookies...then you have Dan Campbell who literally is the breathe of God to the Lions franchise and has set them up as Superbowl contenders...o and by the way broke the Lions curse that was almost 30 years long of not winning a playoff game....so yeah we all knew about the Browns and the offensive injury bug, but come on they were always a defensive unit...and were good coming off the bat with all the accumulated draft capital they've had since the early 2000s...
Coach Ryans got played wow rookie QB rookie head coach and they made it to the 2nd round of the playoffs and destroyed the browns 45-14 the 2 finalist coaches for the award went head to head Ryan’s should have won more deserved tbh
Give Coach Stefanski C.J. Stroud and maybe he would have been 13-4, 14-3 or 15-2? Even with a completely depleted offensive line, losing a star top 2 running back he managed with 5 different starting QBs. He was dealt the hardest hand and deserves it. Love my coach Steven Stefanski.
It's a regular season award. What happened in the playoffs doesn't matter. What Stephanski did with the Browns during that time was more impressive given what happened to his roster.

I thought Dan Campbell might win it since Stefanski won it in 2020, but considering the injuries and everything else the Browns had to deal with this year, it's well deserved. Stefanski got the award on a tiebreaker, as he and DeMeco Ryans each finished with 165 points, but Stefanski had 21 first-place votes to Ryans' 20.

Browns went 20 years without making the playoffs but made it twice in 4 years and developing guys. We had 26% of the team on IR. In the past 10 years teams who had that much on the IR did didnt even make it to a .500 record not one but he lead this team to the playoffs and had every excuse to fold
