Chicago is an awesome city. Visited in 2014 and had an fabulous holiday. Explored the city during my stay and visited most of the important places. Down town is just fantastic and very colourful with people being very busy and all lot of activities. Wish to visit Chicago once more.
Chicago is one of the most beautiful cities in the United States. Although is windy and sometime dirty, the downtown is amazing. A boat your is mandatory if you visit Chicago. Also, is you have time, go to North Avenue Beach, the skyline view is beautiful.
There are many major developments happening in Chicago. Quantum Computing Manufacturer coming in Chicago, United Center expansion on the west side, and a new 53 story hotel Bally's casino being built along with many more. If leadership can come up with ways to decrease crime, make reclassification of zoning easier and expedite construction permits, and increase revenue without high taxation then Chicago would dramatically become more attractive to investors and developers.
I used to go shopping and eating downtown every week. I used to take the Blue line there before COVID. I always felt safe. Now with the increase in crime i stopped going there. I haven't been downtown in 4 years.
Conditions change regularly- Chicago’s downtown ebbs and flows all the time and there are still plenty of ways to experience the best of what it has to offer safely. We hope you’ll take a trip downtown sometime soon and see for yourself!

Unfortunately a trend in many metropolitan areas, especially those that are deprived of resources the locals need to drive the local economy.
