  • In this tutorial, we'll show you a safe and simple way to replace the magnetic clips on your ResMed CPAP mask with non-magnetic clips. Magnets in CPAP masks can interfere with pacemakers and other medical devices. I'll guide you through the process step-by-step, ensuring that your CPAP mask is both comfortable and compliant with your medical needs. Whether you're tech-savvy or new to CPAP therapy, this video will provide you with all the information you need to make the switch safely. The clips i used were from a F&P brevida cpap mask and can be purchased for around $8 (2pc).

    I officially love you now!!!!!! Thank you!!! I hate the Fisher & Paykel mask I was forced to switched to. I am so relieved to see this today. I'm almost in tears of relief. Where to get clips? Though I guess I could steal the ones from the F&P masks. I wonder if my next restock from my supplier I can get the F-40 and do it to that. But I guess this weekend I'm gonna do this for my old f-30s

    Geez Nick I think you may have just created a business for yourself! I’m using the air fit f30 but my issue is the damn magnets! Please Resmed just eliminate the magnets or make the masks with both so the user can choose. I’m waking up every night fumbling to find the strap so I can connect the magnets. I’ve also tried to tape over the magnets just to keep them put ugh! I’m going to try this first, thank you nick

    Nice instructional video Nick, but you might want to preface the instructions with ensuring that people are doing this work in a well ventilated area - the plastic fumes and dust will not be good for your lungs... 👍🙏

    I was thinking you could also modify it by cutting the flap near the magnetic off, then attach velcro to the remaining flap. No soldering iron or sander needed.

      How did you attach the Velcro to the strap?

  • @exxr
    @exxr 5 місяців тому +1

    You can do it much cleaner with a sharp utility knife, just slice the blue bit with the magnet right off the white plastic strap. Just be very careful not to slice yourself! If done right it leaves a nice clean strap, no sanding or melted plastic and fumes.

      I'll give it a go. Thanks for the tip! Probably still have to melt the hole though hey. Cheers

      @exxr 5 місяців тому

      @@CPAPReviews Yeah, you could melt a hole through, I just used a drill bit if I remember correctly or I'm thinking even a single hole punch might be the go.

    Great video. Any chance the brilliant ResMed product designers are watching and could simply make a line of products without magnets? It's not like it would be that hard for the company to do. Are they against giving people a choice?

    • @CPAPReviews
      @CPAPReviews  5 місяців тому +2

      Yeah it's a great point you make. I'm not sure on the numbers but i imagine people with implants probably make up somwhere between 0.2-0.4% of their user base so from a strictly business operations decision they might not feel it's worth having extra manufacturing lines etc. That being said, according to google there's over 3 million Americans with pacemakers and most are in that core cpap age demographic of 60 years old.

    • @RevvyTone
      @RevvyTone 5 місяців тому +2

      I posted and emailed my disappointment and feeling of betrayal to Resmed that they released the f-40 without first dealing with the magnet issue for those of us with pacemakers who benefit from their products, or at least give the option for mask or clips. All I got was one of those canned response where they repeated back to my my 'issue" and said they "heard me" but offered no other response.

    Have a Resmed Air Sense 10 CPAP I bought during the Phillips recall that I haven’t used for about a year. Is it safe to clean all parts and use it? Stopped when I got my Phillips replacement due to the recall.

    Hi Nick. Love your channel, mate. I have a quick question: when lowering the pressure on my resmed 11 does the minimum pressure play a role at all? Or am I only concerned with lowering the upper number? I'm definitely getting aerophagia. Thanks mate.
