the best theme music and entrance ever in the history of EVER. I got this theme song as my ring tone. but my phone doesn't do the song justice. wish my phone has more bass and it would start to smoke and catch fire when it rings haha.
Plus he could go! Almost everything about Gangrel was unique. The entrance, the music, the way he hits the ropes, irish whips, elbow drops.. the man does everything so different. They really fucked up.
From what I've heard, his lack of ability to talk on the microphone was why he didn't get far. The Attitude Era was a time where you had to be the total package to be a big star. Mic skills, look, in-ring skills. If you lacked even one of those, the ceiling for you was low. Gangrel had all of those except for the mic skills. There was an in-ring interview he did on Sunday Night Heat in 1999 that's become infamous. He sounded incredibly cringy on the mic and did a cringy fake laugh that you can tell he forced. After that interview fail, he really didn't go very far after that
I met Gangrel a couple of years ago and he’s such a sweet guy and down to earth guy, he’s my favorite wrestler growing up and his entrance is one of the best.... Gangrel is the only one who can pull off the vampire gimmick ❤️✨
What makes a good interviewer is that they know when to step back and just listen and when to interject with a further question. The balance here is perfect. As opposed to some other famous wrestling interviewers out there.
Agreed! This seems so casual and relaxed and he does a great job of keeping the conversation flowing from one thing to another without any awkward hiccups or breaks...
On a Gangrel binge. His insight is second to none. Cant get enough!!! My favorite thing about these interviews is he absolutely refuses to toss others under the bus. Just the truth and only enough to move the story along. Thank you.
Gangrel is considered to be one of the Uso's (samoan word for brother)! So many of my Samoan friends, who have hung out with him, have nothing but the nicest things to say about Gangrel!
I've had the pleasure to meet a lot of former wwe wrestlers while working with CHIKARA. Gangrel was one of the coolest, kindest dudes. He remembered my name even though i was just the sound guy. Was so kind to me. I was huge fan of him as a kid. Even bigger fan after meeting him.
He seems like such a down to earth guy! I’ve always been a fan of his character, but this interview made me like him on a personal level! Great interview, Chris!
Weird huh? I could have sworn he at least won the Hardcore title at some point (because let's face it, who didn't win that title in the 90's right?), but not even that!
I was 10 years old back in 2000, I was at this restaurant with my parents, i went into the bathroom and as i was walking in, gangel was walking out. And I remember I stopped and asked him are you Gangrel from WWF. And he's like yeah and we must have talked for like 5 minutes in the hallway and then I asked him if I can get a picture with him. So I ran and got my parents and my dad and me took a picture with him he was seriously one of the nicest guys ever
I'm proud to say that I am a multiple time victim of Gangrel's impailer ddt. He still has it and can probably go for quite sometime to come in my opinion. He also has one of the best locker room reputations in the business. I've never heard anyone speak negative of him. All around a good guy.
I loved the Brood back in the day. Gangrel, Edge. and Christian were my all-time favorite's. The vampire dark theme was kickass! I still have a Gangrel action figure holding a chalice of blood on my book shelf to this day.
this guy has one of the best gimmicks in wrestling history ,the character is underrated and legendary the guy has one of the best running elbow in wrestling
I wish this lasted more than 30 minutes, such an awesome interview with one of my favorite wrestlers from the attitude era. Also you can tell that he loved Luna very much even if she was a bit too much to handle lol
Chris's n Gangrel look like they hung out back in college or something. When an Accommodating and genuine interviewer chats with a egoless, down to earth interviewee it comes together. Less of an interview and more an informal but highly informative chat. Respect x
Gangrel needs a podcast. I’ve heard him as a guest before and he is someone you would slowly inch towards in a bar just to be able to listen in on his entertaining stories
" It's in the mail! It's a hard flag to geeeet!" Loved that, but i love this guy, wow. He's down to earth and legit cares about the business and really loves what he does and his students. That's awesome. In a different life, i would've loved to be trained by him.
This was one of the best interviews I've seen. I really enjoy hearing Gangrel. He's super chill. That Seinfeld impression was on point too, lol. "I don't want to be a pirate!"
Great interview, Chris! Gangrel seems like a chill dude who really embraced his roll in the industry and the fact that he trained Rusev speaks volumes.
Gangrel lives the gimmick. New generation wrestlers take notes about commitment. This guy is the image of commitment. Fangin and bangin 2018 jabrones!!!
Literally, I'll be watching your interviews all day. Gangrel seems to be a down to earth guy as well. You interview well...you don't step on their responses too much.Love it!!
Gangrel, Nick Aldis, Shane Douglas and Bill Eadie ( Demolition-AX) are some of my Fav wrestlers and so far the only normal non backstabbing people who appreciate there time in wrestling past, present and ongoing. You guys are awesome ,
Met him and Luna at a show around 2000ish. Both were fresh out of WWE, no egos, super friendly and talkative with everybody. Sometimes you can tell when you meet real genuine good people.
Gangrels entrance coming from under the ground with fire around him and that awesome theme music was so good. Loved his character and he looks awesome still. Wish he could return for the Royal Rumble just to hear that music again.
Listening to Gangrel I really like the way he explains how he trains, focusing on the basic holds first before even letting them hitting the ropes and the way he explains it, seems like he runs another of these wrestling schools where you imagine that it's be a great experience for those interested in being wrestlers would learn a lot more than they would at other, maybe better known or more popular schools
He helps out with a small Indy promotion in my hometown called WCWC (West Coast Wrestling Connection). He is so down to earth. He trains students here too.
Always loved Gangrel and The Brood. This interview is great and it made me wanna go watch a Gangrel match, after listening to his theme some 50 times of course 😏
I met Gangrel at a convention in Florida a couple of years ago, he seemed like a nice personable guy just like in this video with a random fan (myself).

Saw him & took a picture with him at a local indie show, really chill guy, had a match & spat "blood" that got on us in the front row. Wound up going to an after party at a nearby bar so my friends and I could have a beer with him & pay our respects.
Sat and ate dinner at a table with gangrel back in 2000 during a bar/house show in Halifax, Nova Scotia.. Damn what a great chat we had and amazing show they put on.
He's in great shape for his age I'm glad he's healthy and going to hopefully live a long life. I hate it when I see wrestlers die way before their time.
We meet him at a wrestling show a couple of years ago and he was really cool. No ego at all and just very nice to talk with. Plus he was super awesome with my kiddo. We bought an autographed pic and a photo with him, but he kept goofing around and making funny faces, cracking us up, so we got a bunch of pics. The person sitting with him kept trying to say that we could only have one picture, but he kept telling her to chill out and have some fun. Lol.
"Luna truly loved wrestling, it didnt love her, but she gave her all for pro wrestling nd it killed her." Damn those words pierced me...i hope she's inducted in the HOF one day..
Seems like 1 of the most genuine guys ever. Never liked him as a wrestler because he just wasn’t like the rock etc when growing up but looking back can see how good he actually was
Gangrel is absolutely awesome folks !!! How nice would it be for not only other wrestlers to be that cool but if everyone everywhere was like that , Man life would be a lot smoother don’t ya think lol ... thanks ... GOD BLESS !!!
Man, Gangrel was such a good character. Great look, good worker, amazing intro and theme and now to see him so long after out of character. he's such a positive and dope guy to be around it looks like. Happy to see he's doing well and healthy also which is not a given for wrestlers of his era, we all know that.
Saw you riding your bike on the beach a couple of weeks ago! Down there for work training and was hangin’ pretty bad and saw you coming down the beach and thought, holy shit that’s Gangrel! Confirmed on your Twitter....I was hangin’ and you were Fangin’ and Bangin’ lol
So criminally underrated! What a theme tune for a start! And as a vampire gimmick it wasn’t too “fake” or gimmicky. David Heath was a true worker, watch him closely and you can see that his in ring work is up there with the very best! Along with William Regal, these 2 should’ve been more over. Cool dude too! What a true WWE Legend
I'm happy to from Gangrel that he's staying strong doing something in his life that's cool he trained Reve I hope they put him and hall of fame aswell somday..
Never judge a book by its cover.......this is a genuine stand up guy........when I train somewhere .....I def trust him and his experience .......so I’m binging my business soon !
He is such a nice guy. The bit about Luna is touching, to someone with mental health issues it's sad to see how easily someone can be looked down upon. She is one of my early early memories from old wrestling tapes and she deserves to be a hall of famer. The title is perfect.
Listening to this man talk, makes me want to join his school. I was always interested in his unorthodox style and the corkscrew elbows, etc... However, making the trip to Florida from upper Ontario is quite a journey and I fear I'm not gifted enough
Awesome personality and character talented worker he can get it done in he ring ! He had the coolest entrance and music in the WWF wish he had a longer run
He is a really cool approachable dude in the real. He use to live right down the road from me with Luna, which is strange because I live in Hudson Florida which is basically hood. Never got to see his house although I heard stories about it from a friend of mine that him and Luna had a lot of like weird stuff like snake heads and shit. I hung out with his son Van a few times, cool people, all really down to earth and chill. Im glad to see that he is still busy and staying at it, he always was one of my favorite wrestlers from the time, I always thought he was super quick and agile for how big he was. I guess it was just a weird coincidence that a friend of mine was friends with his kid, sucks I never told him how dope I thought he was as a wrestler, only spoke to him briefly in a Win Dixie about how Van was locked up for some bullshit. Anyways, Gangrel im glad your still at it brother, keep it up.
He has one of the best theme music ever in WWE.
not to mention the entrance from the bottom of the stage through a ring of fire
Yeah
Mike McNiel yeah
so good!!!
the best theme music and entrance ever in the history of EVER. I got this theme song as my ring tone. but my phone doesn't do the song justice. wish my phone has more bass and it would start to smoke and catch fire when it rings haha.
The Brood's theme song and entrance was one of the best of the attitude era !
but along with the brood coming up from the bottom of the stage with that ring of fire made it the best
Mike McNiel it was dope as fuck
main reason I bought that cd lol
I watched wrestion from 1985 until around 2005, and it's easily my favorite entrance song.
“I tell you something else, this brood...”
I remember watching raw and I thought “Jim is a really good rapper”
I enjoy listening to Gangrel. The dude is so cool and down to earth. Is just like listening to a close friend talk.
Agree.Perfectly stated.
You is right
Damn right, Gangrel is a master in wrestling he is old school
His gimmick had so much potential, like undertaker type of potential
I honestly think that was part of the problem. They already had an undead image, plus Kane. The brood would always remain in the shadows of taker
Plus he could go! Almost everything about Gangrel was unique. The entrance, the music, the way he hits the ropes, irish whips, elbow drops.. the man does everything so different. They really fucked up.
+TheRoryR21
dont forget his swag walk to the ring , I used to imitate his walk damn it was awesome
From what I've heard, his lack of ability to talk on the microphone was why he didn't get far. The Attitude Era was a time where you had to be the total package to be a big star. Mic skills, look, in-ring skills. If you lacked even one of those, the ceiling for you was low.

This guy always been a really good interviewer
rowow lol
I met Gangrel a couple of years ago and he’s such a sweet guy and down to earth guy, he’s my favorite wrestler growing up and his entrance is one of the best.... Gangrel is the only one who can pull off the vampire gimmick ❤️✨
He is the only one that made it believable. Edge and Christian were playing dress up, Gangrel seemed like the genuine article
What makes a good interviewer is that they know when to step back and just listen and when to interject with a further question. The balance here is perfect. As opposed to some other famous wrestling interviewers out there.
nriab23 this is honestly the best compliment I have ever received. Thank you very much for watching and taking the time to comment 👍
Agreed! This seems so casual and relaxed and he does a great job of keeping the conversation flowing from one thing to another without any awkward hiccups or breaks...
Hannibal is my personal favorite shoot interviewer as he is a wrestler himself and knows the business well. Sean Oliver is also a great interviewer.
Sam Roberts just isn't all that good.
On a Gangrel binge. His insight is second to none. Cant get enough!!! My favorite thing about these interviews is he absolutely refuses to toss others under the bus. Just the truth and only enough to move the story along. Thank you.

One of my fav 90's wrestler . Loved playing as him in Smackdown 1 and Smackdown 2 : Know Your Role for PS1 . The memories . Anyone else remember?
He seems like such a down to earth guy! I’ve always been a fan of his character, but this interview made me like him on a personal level! Great interview, Chris!
CTK thanks man!
Gangrel is awesome. I am glad he is doing well.
Great interview. Gangrel seems like such a cool dude
It’s a crime he didn’t win a title. He was awesome.
Weird huh? I could have sworn he at least won the Hardcore title at some point (because let's face it, who didn't win that title in the 90's right?), but not even that!
LyingSecret a damn shame... Even a f*ckin mannequin head won it (technically)
Most people won it in 2000s 24/7 rule came in early 2000
K, thanks Wikipedia :)
na just a big head who likes correcting wrestling noobs : )
Damn Gangrel is looking great! So fun to hear a nice, lengthy interview with him. Thanks, Chris!
I love how the cameraman isn't sure which one is the Bulgarian flag.
Lmao
I still don't.
America where world history and geography stretches from the Canadian border to the Mexican border
He' tried to save face by pretending like he was showing them all off afterwards.
Brand new respect for Gangrel, definetly a cornerstone of the attitude era. Kinda makes me wish they gave him more promo opportunities
He is a guy you could sit down with and have a great conversation with. Very down to earth. Great dude!!!

Really cool dude. He was straight forward and told it like it is. Seems like a great friend to have
this guy has one of the best gimmicks in wrestling history ,the character is underrated and legendary
the guy has one of the best running elbow in wrestling
I wish this lasted more than 30 minutes, such an awesome interview with one of my favorite wrestlers from the attitude era. Also you can tell that he loved Luna very much even if she was a bit too much to handle lol
I always used the broods entrance as my own characters on the 1st wwf smackdown and wrestlemania 2000 games back in the day
Yep, the ring of fire was always the best entrance
Chris's n Gangrel look like they hung out back in college or something.

Gangrel is such a class act. One of the most down to earth wrestlers. I hope life continues being good to him. He truly deserves it.
I met Gangrel at a airport bar in London. He was awesome we had a drink together and talked about his old matches.
Gangrel seems pretty cool. I would love to enjoy a few beers with this guy.
