I don’t think Ariel’s too upset about it. She’s one of the highest paid park actors in all of Disney. There’s less that could go wrong with the blanket. If Eric’s injured in any way, it’d be more dangerous than the blanket.
Once when the Dragon went up in flames there was no Plan B, in fact the fire raged on out of control and the park was evacuated. That put a spotlight on fire safety at this show. I'm pretty sure this would be your new number 1 Blooper now.
It’s a shame it’s probably permanently gone. I might have not watched Fantasmic a lot when I went, I kinda liked World of Color better, the original version not the alternate versions but I can always praise Fantasmic because of the dragon because how epic it looks.

I love how with every malfunction/plan B that you point out, you have something positive to say about it and recognize how technically difficult this show is yet how well-prepared the cast and crew are to conquer any difficulties that may arise! I prefer Disneyland's Fantasmic both before and after the huge refurb that it just underwent. As you-yourself-mentioned, Disneyland performers have more energy (not just in that one clip but almost always in my opinion), and I like the sequences at Disneyland better. The main thing I like at WDW better is that you can sit throughout the whole show, and there really is no bad spot in the amphitheater.

For that reason, you may notice that in some acts, the dance moves are more elaborate at Disneyland than similar shows and parades in Orlando. WDW does have many programs that bring in talent from across the country and around the world, but it is much harder to keep that up.
Side note: If the park were in Germany, (and I guess a few other countries too) they'd have to pay the Ariel-actress a bonus for the unusual risk of staying out on the deck of the boat during the fireworks.

Pretty sure she's strapped to the platform she sits on as well, not 100% sure, but removing her instead of covering would take much more time and wouldn't make it in time to clear the fire works
Her costume is probably attached to the boat so she doesn't fall but she can't get out quick enough to be safely inside the boat and away from the fireworks.
I like that you keep a genuine respectability to the cast members, understanding the vast majority of this isnt really their fault and commending their often flawless recoveries

I grew up watching the Fantasmic show in Disneyland Anaheim, CA. I was out of the country when the major changes to the show were made in 2017. Now I live in a different state of the US and so I had the opportunity to visit the park during the holiday season this past year. Needless to say, I was a bit let down at some of the changes that had been made but I really enjoyed this video! It made me tear up a bit just at the nostalgia of my childhood.
Considering that some of the characters and scenes in Shrek were intended to mock Disney, of course it's possible that there would be similar looking characters.
It takes a long time to put her in that tail and then tie her to the pedestal she sits on. It would take too long to get her out and it would be a legal nightmare if another performer picked her up and dropped her. It's actually quite safe, the drape is soaked in flame retardant chemicals literally every day. Same for all the Pyro gloves that Mickey wears and several other costume items that get really close to Pyrotechnics. A bunch of the Evil Queen's stuff gets flame retardant chemicals too because of the proximity to the cauldron. After the fireworks the Eric performer goes back to help her down and typically carries the tail off the boat for her. She's not abandoned it's just the safest way.
Came here after finding out that the Dragon literally caught fire, we're gonna need a new spot for #1. 😅 When Fantasmic returns, they'll probably just use the Plan B at 6:02 from now on.

I have seen case were the dragon wasn’t working at DL and they had to project him on some water it was still cool but I was really hoping the dragon would come out
Disneyland will always have better performers because there are so many aspiring actors and dancers in the LA area who can work for disney while auditioning for their big break. Florida will never have that kind of talent pool to fish in. Also, yeah, the florida parks have really been let go in recent years and not managed as well as they were in the 90s and very early 2000s. But I imagine even back then Disneyland performers were much better for the above reason. Disneyland performers are actors/dancers who just happen to be dressed as characters. Disney world performers are people dressed as characters who happen to be dancing and acting.
9:00 - I remember watching from someone else I'm subscribed to last year who went to DisneyWorld who filmed this and said "There's Ariel! Under the fireproof blanket. Poor girl." I never realized it either until he posted it. You would have thought Eric would have at least tried to carry her out, but nope. Thanks Eric. ._.
Fantasmic has this magic in it. It gives me goosebumps all the time. I’m so glad they had a refurbishment on the the old fantasmic. Many people may not like the new one, but the original will always be cherished. I love Disneyland so much, with out it I don’t know what I’d do.
Because in Florida it's a very hot and most of them I am full body suit and the princesses have really big and heavy grasses and tail and their make up is very hot like make them sweat like legion to why they are not as happy as Disneyland
wdwfan1 but also Cali gets hot at night and it gets hot when your moving around you have to think about that they are moving both equally and even though it may be cooler they still movie around so much that the heat gets trapped inside the suit so it gets just as hot and they still do there best
As someone who lives in Southern California, I assure you it gets soooo damn hot here, where I'm from a usual heat wave in summer could get up to 120° and Anaheim is almost as bad. What cali doesn't have as often is the humidity, rain, thunder and stuff like that, doesn't mean never tho lol
i have a story so when my family and i went to fantasmic and while we were waiting till the show started everyone started turning their phone flash and waving it around and since my siter dosent have a phone and so she had on light up shoes and then she took her shoe off and turned it on and starts waving it around and everyone staired at her and the people behind ous started to take pictures and laugh and my sister just keeped laughing and my parents where embarreds to be her parent. LOL XD
Oh here's useful comment time: I've seen DHS and I've seen DL's. Let's start this off by saying I'm a disney world loyalist and my husband's a disneyland loyalist. DL destroys DHS. DHS is gorgeous, but there is NOTHING like seeing Fantasmic done in DL. And World of Color crushes Rivers of Light. That said, my favorite nighttime spectacular is definitely Fantasmic in DL. Illuminations does it for me in WDW. We went to DHS on my 30th birthday last year. My husband made sure we got to see Fantasmic, which is super special to me because I get the feels about it. We took the Pokemon Go gym there that night, too, lol. It was a great day.

Fantasmic is my absolute favorite performance at the parks. As a teenager I saw Disneyland's Fantasmic, but my memory of it is spotty at best. I do remember the water projections being absolutely amazing, and to this day it's probably my favorite part of the show. In 2012 I got to see the Hollywood Studios version at Walt Disney World, and it blew my mind. All manner of new things had been added since the last time I was there, including a bunch of Pixar references. I want to say I at least saw Carl's house from Up and WALL-E and EVE doing some of their dancing. Of course Jafar's snake and Maleficent's dragon were incredible...I lucked out in that the animatronic seemd to work fine.
I adore Fantasmic! My family went once to Disneyland and we took the VIP tour so we got the front row seats. We forgot that my little brother would probably become upset by the fireworks. (He was special needs but had been doing so amazing that day. That was the majority of the reason we needed the tour, after the issue with people lying about special needs we no longer could get the pass we needed for my brother.) Anyway he started crying because we were in the front row so his noice reducers weren’t enough. We made quite the scene. Our family was the glitch that night.
Fantasmic! It really is Fantasmic, My favourite show Disney performs. The Dragon, All the characters. I’m really interested in technology so this really fascinated me when I went to Disney World. Fantasmic job Disney! 😉

I like how he shows how it is supposed to go first, then the mess-up. I like this because I have never been to Fantasmic, so I wouldn’t know what was messed up.

I have seen case were the dragon wasn’t working at DL and they had to project him on some water it was still cool but I was really hoping the dragon would come out
Disneyland will always have better performers because there are so many aspiring actors and dancers in the LA area who can work for disney while auditioning for their big break. Florida will never have that kind of talent pool to fish in.
Also, yeah, the florida parks have really been let go in recent years and not managed as well as they were in the 90s and very early 2000s. But I imagine even back then Disneyland performers were much better for the above reason. Disneyland performers are actors/dancers who just happen to be dressed as characters. Disney world performers are people dressed as characters who happen to be dancing and acting.
There has to be an endless supply of these videos with all the cell phones today... I anxiously await volumes 2-99

9:00 - I remember watching from someone else I'm subscribed to last year who went to DisneyWorld who filmed this and said "There's Ariel! Under the fireproof blanket. Poor girl." I never realized it either until he posted it. You would have thought Eric would have at least tried to carry her out, but nope. Thanks Eric. ._.
Fantasmic has this magic in it. It gives me goosebumps all the time. I’m so glad they had a refurbishment on the the old fantasmic. Many people may not like the new one, but the original will always be cherished. I love Disneyland so much, with out it I don’t know what I’d do.

I’ve seen the Disney World Fantasma one at least 3 times. It was really amazing.
Because in Florida it's a very hot and most of them I am full body suit and the princesses have really big and heavy grasses and tail and their make up is very hot like make them sweat like legion to why they are not as happy as Disneyland
wdwfan1 but also Cali gets hot at night and it gets hot when your moving around you have to think about that they are moving both equally and even though it may be cooler they still movie around so much that the heat gets trapped inside the suit so it gets just as hot and they still do there best

As someone who lives in Southern California, I assure you it gets soooo damn hot here, where I'm from a usual heat wave in summer could get up to 120° and Anaheim is almost as bad. What cali doesn't have as often is the humidity, rain, thunder and stuff like that, doesn't mean never tho lol

i have a story so when my family and i went to fantasmic and while we were waiting till the show started everyone started turning their phone flash and waving it around and since my siter dosent have a phone and so she had on light up shoes and then she took her shoe off and turned it on and starts waving it around and everyone staired at her and the people behind ous started to take pictures and laugh and my sister just keeped laughing and my parents where embarreds to be her parent. LOL XD

Oh here's useful comment time: I've seen DHS and I've seen DL's. Let's start this off by saying I'm a disney world loyalist and my husband's a disneyland loyalist.
DL destroys DHS. DHS is gorgeous, but there is NOTHING like seeing Fantasmic done in DL. And World of Color crushes Rivers of Light. That said, my favorite nighttime spectacular is definitely Fantasmic in DL. Illuminations does it for me in WDW.
We went to DHS on my 30th birthday last year. My husband made sure we got to see Fantasmic, which is super special to me because I get the feels about it. We took the Pokemon Go gym there that night, too, lol. It was a great day.

Fantasmic is my absolute favorite performance at the parks.
As a teenager I saw Disneyland's Fantasmic, but my memory of it is spotty at best. I do remember the water projections being absolutely amazing, and to this day it's probably my favorite part of the show.
In 2012 I got to see the Hollywood Studios version at Walt Disney World, and it blew my mind. All manner of new things had been added since the last time I was there, including a bunch of Pixar references. I want to say I at least saw Carl's house from Up and WALL-E and EVE doing some of their dancing. Of course Jafar's snake and Maleficent's dragon were incredible...I lucked out in that the animatronic seemd to work fine.

I adore Fantasmic! My family went once to Disneyland and we took the VIP tour so we got the front row seats. We forgot that my little brother would probably become upset by the fireworks. (He was special needs but had been doing so amazing that day. That was the majority of the reason we needed the tour, after the issue with people lying about special needs we no longer could get the pass we needed for my brother.) Anyway he started crying because we were in the front row so his noice reducers weren’t enough. We made quite the scene. Our family was the glitch that night.
I can't really blame them for making these fails.
Putting on a show like Fantasmic does take lots of effort and practicing.

It really is Fantasmic, My favourite show Disney performs. The Dragon, All the characters. I’m really interested in technology so this really fascinated me when I went to Disney World.
