This was the last song in their set in Dublin. That ascending riff section at the end got dragged out like stretching an elastic band threatens an explosive snap at any time. Felt like I was witnessing apotheosis. Really amazing.
@@donnadizucchero Post-production doesn't work like that. Good engineers can extract the best quality from a voice, but no amount of polishing can make up for a bad performance. The way Dwyer changes from clean to growling is a testament to his ability. I mean, he literally used to use telephone receivers as a microphone and his voice still sounded awesome. No knocking KEXP engineers though, the quality of these live performances is unparalleled.
This song instantly stood out among their best on my initial listen of Face Stabber; it's like an homage to a very familiar 70s sound I can't quite pin down. Thee Oh Sees continue to blow me away.

I think its good but not amazing, it definetly works really well and i love the music, fucking hate it when singers with a good voice do too much
this might be the hottest OhSees groove I've heard from them. dig
Yeah man, dig!
When I heard this in 2018 its strongly evocative of work around 1969 to 71, early prog and Soft Machine.
