My husband introduced me to Slayer when we first started dating in '99 (I'd heard them before but never really listened to them.) We ended up taking our oldest son to see them live when he was 9 bc we wanted his 1st concert to be memorable. Unfortunately, my husband passed away from cancer 2 years ago at 44 so I understand the feeling of loss... After nearly 23 years together, I find solace in listening to Slayer bc it makes me remember great times with him. It also helps that our youngest son has loved Raining Blood since he was a baby. He's 6 now and he'll stop whatever he's doing as soon as he hears the opening of the song so he can rock out... His daddy would be so proud!
Fun fact! While Slayer is exceptionally heavy and very extreme with their tone, they are in fact a thrash metal band. There, thats something you know now!
In thrash metal? For sure. In metal overall? Nah, the whole death and black subgenres, funeral and death-doom, also the early gothic metal entries which were growl-dominated... all of these are heavier.
Man, Slayer was the band that really got me into extreme metal and I always loved listening to Jeff's solos. I loved watching slayer interviews and such and when I heard Jeff died my whole day went to shit. This is really sad. Rest in Peace Jeff. You're a fucking legend.
im a short girl and i LOVE slayer ever since i was 15 and i dont even remember how i started listening to them all i know is they changed my life for ever! ROMF!!!

yea, guitarists play their parts over and over and over again almost religiously. and they make it look easy and not precise because they have played it so much that they can do it perfectly.
We use to listen to this before football games, I was a tail back, after hearing slayer I would want to punish anyone trying to tackle I could usually have gotten more yards, but I liked inflicting punishment on the other team. 25 years later this song gets me pumped wanting to fuq sh1t up!
Kerry King is the most underrated guitarist of all tome. For real he's one of the all time greats. He's up there with Tony Iommi, Brian May, Randy Rhoads, Dimebag Darrell, Jimi Hendrix, Eddie Van Halen, Slash, Angus Young, Mick Mars, Tom Morello and all the other all time greats in my opinion. Real shit though!
well, gunna be honest with you all, for its time, slayer was considered pretty damn heavy. also, if you don't like a song/video, do you really need to let the world know?
i think of a fire-like demon entering an old, abandoned masnion and about 6 seconds in, the wind is him flying around fire, walking slowly and at 0:44 he demolishes the entire mansion and fight the other demons or whatever that lurk within and near the end, about 2:51 he runs as fast as he can and knocks down the whole building and at the silent end, he walks away proud of what he has done with the bang as the thunder/ place falling...
when it comes to trash metal, im almost exclusively a Metallica fan. for the first time ever im actually giving slayer a chance and i have to say i already feel right at home. by the second time i listened to this song i was hooked.

Raining Blood, this song would be perfect for tampons commercial.
It's called Reign In Blood, not Raining Blood.
(s)AINT Cyanide Nope. Song is Raining Blood from album "Reign in Blood".
(s)AINT Cyanide
Album name: reign in blood
Song name: raining blood
Is it so hard to understand?...
