I think based on the fact that other Dmen are going to get paid more then we’re used to, and that many teams in FA would’ve paid more than 4.9 for demelo, that means this isn’t an overpay. Besides we had no choice but to pay him considering our RHD situation and how he plays with morrisey
Yeah some hockey site had him pegged for 5.4 x4 and that is fair for a 1st pairing rhd. I think players of his experience balance the money against the situation they're in. He's playing 1st pair with a all star partner on a team and city he likes so he leaves a few mill on the table. Look at someone like Trouba, yeah he makes 8mil...but he's now 3rd pair and Rangers want to move on from him obviously. If he was still in the Peg, he might still be playing with Morrisey. I wonder how happy he is with his money.
