I hadn't used max since before these tools became available so this was really helpful. I can't get my materials to work as nicely as yours in Max 2025. It's grainy and transparency doesn't look as uniform in high quality mode. Standard mode is the same, just not very subtle. Not sure if something changed in the viewport renderer.
Unfortunately it hass very random results. Sometimes the vertices snaps in blackface instead of snapping in the closest surface!! Any solution my dear friend?
I don't remember if I mention it in the video, but the scale of the scene usually is a factor to take in count. If you see a lot of weird behaviour with snaps, try to increase the scale of the objects and reset xform them after. This is also valid for Maya.
Muy buen video, t has ganado un suscriptor, stoy iniciando en 3ds máx a través d un curso, pero deja mucho que desear, se aprende mucho más con vídeos como este, gracias. Un saludo.
very good, in some other tutorial you could explain how to import / export the models from zbrush to max, and how to configure the model scale. From already thank you very much.

Great tutorial! thanks man!

Hi, Alt S or Alt D to switch between extend and optimize doens't work in my max 2020.
You can set up those keys quickly. In the hotkey editor search for Polydraw Stepbuild, Polydraw Optimize and Polydraw Extend.
Te animaras hacerlo en español?
Está bien, asi me esfuerzo con el inglés.
Gracias.
bro your english is great but ....donde esta la versión en español?????
Hola, aqui lo tienes ua-cam.com/video/orEn8cLQuow/v-deo.html

Hola, lo siento, de momento sólo en inglés. Saludos

in zbrush its easy.mergevisible (it will create a new polymesh3d) then export its that easy.
it works but EXTREMELY unintuitive
Hmm I didn't quite get the beggining, the explanation is a bit confussing... (also, the guy could really use some English lessons XD)
I know : D My english is not the best, sorry for that! Please let me know what is confusing, I will try to help you.
3ds max is very very bad for retopo
Why? Do you have any specific issue? Any big problems like bugs and etc or other softwares are just more robust?
It’s good enough for me. I don’t know because i haven’t try maya or blender yet. What would you recommend?
