How to throw a wide bowl; no turning and a thrown foot ring - Ridge Pottery

Douglas Phillips demonstrates how to throw a wide, shallow bowl that doesn't need turning. Later he demonstrates how to throw a foot ring onto the leather hard bowl.

I’ve taken several videos at Ridge Pottery Summer Schools. The demonstrations are informal, often impromptu, and show a particular making technique or illustrate elements of a pot’s shape, form and function. As well as the demonstration there is often discussion with students that lend the videos an informal quality which (I think) adds to their interest and enjoyment.
