+Heart and Troll The important distinction here is that a flush is all cards are of the same SUIT, not the same color. All hearts would be a flush (as would all diamonds), but not a mixture of the two. That hand was utterly worthless.

yep and that's what I like bout the Ocean's movies (except 12). Not everything is explained but the audience have to think a little bit for some twists and jokes. More movies should be like this.

@km9OOO actually my guess is they wanted to show how hustlers "allow" the fish to play badly, even breaking the most basic rules, if they want to keep those fish in the game and take their money without anything making the fish feel uneasy.

In a private, non-casino game? string-raising is no big deal. Yes, if you're playing regularly -even with a group of friends- somebody should set you right.
Also the only discussion of hands that happened was from Rusty, who in this scene was playing the role of teacher. As to 5 card draw (vs hold'em); yeah it's not the most popular variant.
It is still (IMO) the most iconic, and thus exactly the game a bunch of yuppie jagoff know-nothing rich kids would be trying to play to look cool.
