Every time I hear this Queen song, I think of this exact show w Dennis Quaid. I lost my copy and it's been really difficult for me to find. Thank you SO much for uploading it! Always gives me chills and I feel proud watching and hearing this story of the Blue Angels. I really miss their shows.
I remember my Grandfather bought me this movie Blue Angels Around The world 1993 on VHS, and I keep watch watching this video tell the video start having tape problem, in my middle School year in 2004 here on Marina California Marina Air Fair I meet Butch Vories He sign my First Blue book and Took picture with him it was a Honor meeting him RIP ROY BUTCH VORIES 🙏🙏🇺🇸 thank you Roy Butch Vories for creating the Blue Angels 🇺🇸 this is the best video of the MCDONALD Douglas F-A18C, F-A18D Hornets. Last of the F-A18C F-A18D Boeing Hornets 1983-1993-2019. Every time I listen to Queens its stuck in my head and every Air show I go every year and see The Blue Angels perform I think of Queen playing, hope in 2022,2023 play queen it fits well. In 2004 in my middle school year that is where I meet the Legend and legacy the man himself that CREATED the first Blue thats Roy Butch Vories, took picture with him and Got his book and got it sign by him.
I cant believe this came out in 1993... seems so modern!!! I remember the night this show first aired on A&E... in fact I still have the video cassette recording I made that night! Obviously I have it on DVD now. One of the best BA videos out... right up there with Threshold!
Can't believe this is on here! Heard the very beginning of the Queen song, didn't know it was famous, but found this because of it. '93 wow, no wonder my VHS tape wore out! Thanks a ton to whoever loaded this! 🇺🇲👍
I just noticed that the first time the pilots appear at 3:08 it’s the next year’s team. Dino, Fudge and Thumper talk but the others don’t. That’s because the new Boss is there (Bob Stumpf) and there’s a new 3 and 6.
Thaso cool there is a static F11 Tiger at the bases entrance. I first saw them in 1967 flying Grumman F11 Tigers at a Grumman air show in Calverton NY.
Love "The Right Stuff" references at the beginning. 😂 When I watched this as a kid, they showed everyone's call sign, except for Lt Packer (Fudge). All these years later I now understand! 😂
I was literally born the year this movie was made, I can't believe the Blues went to Russia! I'd love to know what the Russian pilots thought of those F/A-18s after flying in them?
24:12 that’s loud. These pilots mean business and the boss is speaking very clearly to alert the others 24:5524:5624:57 Pat celebrating when the roll goes great 26:4826:49 the boss lets the others know he’s coming right 29:09-29:10 timing is everything
When I was younger, I always noticed it. Then I met a Hornet pilot here in Canada, and his callsign was Fudge, due to his last name. Larry's callsign is a no brainer. Anything close to Packer, you will be Fudge. 😂
Now LT. CMDR Amanda Lee has been 3 and 4. Back then, because I was on carriers and women had just started a few years prior , they would never believe that would be happening. "Stalin" is so great and humble.
When he said we are going close to 1,000 mph i cringe... speed of sound is 761 lol they can't break the sound barrier it would be deafening...it's 1000 between the two
Bitter sweet with Transition of course, We'll See how these Supers are when they are used to flying them and When Virus calms the hell down etc. Still BlueAngels Hornets have overstayed the welcome to me, Great in Cost and maintenance, Fuel etc. Doesn't mean you keep it for 30+ years :P especially since All before were like 10 years each Craft most ?
The ultimate tipping point IMO was when #6 crashed in 2016. Airframe stress and system failure. The Legacy Hornet is a great plane, but it was inevitable that it would ultimately be fully retired and replaced by it's Super Hornet brother.
We can't stand their noise! They practice for over 2 months on top of our heads. Our nerves and our ears are being destroyed. My neighbor has a newborn baby and you can imagine the baby's reaction to the noise reaction. And another is expecting a baby too, so for those that recommend "just cover your ears" how do you do that with a baby inside the womb? We can't even have phone conversations. I complained to senators Alex Padilla and Dianne Feinstain but they just sent me the auto response message that someone will take care of. I see the many praise comments other people leave for the Blue Angels...our babies don't agree with you.
@@carrieann8661 my house was given to me through USDA. I can't afford to buy a house somewhere else. Instead, for the pilots would be very easy to practice 2 miles away from the town.
Wish I could trade homes w/you!! Am sympathetic, yet envious. I grew up on dirt bike adrenaline + smell of 2stroke oil. Now I'm addicted to anything that flies, especially spooling up jets. Good luck. 🙏🇺🇸
the 90's was peak America. It made me tear up seeing the relations between Russian and blue angles and the possibility of peace in the future. i love Russia, not because im Russian. but the values they hold next to religion, the beauty in the architecture of their buildings, history. and most importantly the women. amazing women. please god, bring back the 90's.

I remember the Blue Angels visit to Bucharest in 1992. It was a sensational show, I will not forget it. Thank you!
..been there :), sensational!

Why would you record it on cassette instead of vhs? This way you can actually watch it and not just hear it 😂
1993: I was only 15 yrs old and you one of the reasons my dream became real after watching you in NAS SIGONELLA Sicily. Grazie Gaetano 💪🏻
man, I watched this 100,000 times. Recorded it on VHS when it aired on A&E.

The best documentary I have ever watched !!!!
Best Blue Angels documentary! Watched this countless times on an A&E recorded tape as a kid. Still love it!
Thanks a million for sharing your wonderful experiences. GLAD TO BE HERE,
Blue Angels are truly incredible professional experts at what they do. My Marine Corps hat goes off to all these talented pilots. Semper Fi
I can't believe I've been looking for this. Thank you so much for uploading!
Best blue angels documentary yet
Boss Bartlett & Boss Woolridge both flew with VFA-195 Dambusters.
I was with VFA-195 / USS Independence from 1993 - 1995. position: AK2 (AW )
I love the blues! I went to all their shows in San Diego. They always handed out ear plugs.
I watch all their videos! I have fa 18 hornet earrings.
I love how humble these gentlemen are even though they are some of the best in the world.
It's so depressing to look back at US-Russia relations from the 90s. What a missed opportunity.

What a wonderful film. So sad that almost 30 years later relations with Russia have gone sour and hostile again.
Putin.

Is that Freddy Mercury singing the song at the beginning of the video and what is the name of it great song and great video love the blue angles
Yes, that's Freddie at the beginning. Love the song.
The song is call a kind a Magic
GREAT SOUNDTRACK!!!!!!!! QUEEN!!!!
Damn these guys are really working hard up there. And from the stands you have no idea. Salute.
Love "The Right Stuff" references at the beginning. 😂
When I watched this as a kid, they showed everyone's call sign, except for Lt Packer (Fudge). All these years later I now understand! 😂
I watched this movie several times but now I realized the movie is from 1993 !!! These bastards are really good !!!
"Who's the best pilot you ever saw?" made me laugh. . . "You're lookin' at him!"
To who ever it was that said Queen's "A Kind of Magic" should be the opening theme, you made the right call.
These guys flew at Harlingen International Airport in 1989 I saw them
I was literally born the year this movie was made, I can't believe the Blues went to Russia! I'd love to know what the Russian pilots thought of those F/A-18s after flying in them?
Queen and Frank Sinatra... quite the soundtrack for a 1993 documentary that got a nerdy kid in 2003 into Aviation.
This has always been my favored squad of pilots

Joe is from an honorable family. Joseph Benjamin Sladeski.
Had it on vhs and i loved it
Bulgarian President said it best, "Use these aircraft for displays not for war" Nato needs to learn that
The Naval Aviators are Amazing!!!
Dennis Quade Saw them fly F18s and F11s as a kid.
An old buddy of mine from P'Cola used to fly with Lt. Packer in the Corps. Notice how they don't say his call sign?
I’m taking a wild guess it’s fudge....
Actually at 37:34 in the safety debrief, the boss calls him Fudge.
@@MrElvin1963 Good catch. I missed it on this Vid and the original tv show from waaaay back.

Ive watched this video about 27 times, I would love a response from a pilot. Ive talked with Gucci but I would love to talk to yall

@@whitephoenix4230 that crash had nothing to do with the airframe. It was pilot error. He entered the maneuver too low and too fast.
