Today was our national celebration here and the Witches also flew over Athens. It was spectacular.

Good Evening sir. (It's evening here as I am typing). March 25th is a national celebration. We celebrate the beginning of the Greek revolution of 1821 and the beginning of the war of independence against the Ottoman empire. Eventually and after nearly 10 years of war and with the military contribution of three great powers of the time ( these were the United Kingdom, Russia and France) the modern Hellenic state (originally the kingdom of Greece) was created. Since the outbreak of that revolution marked the beginning of a series of events that eventually led to the creation of our state we honor this anniversary. Google Greek War of independence or Greek revolution of 1821 to get more information. I tried to give you the very basic concept here.
