I like the concept. One thing he mentioned at the very end of the video is tiredness. Your team must be in extremely great shape to play at this pace. Requires a lot of running in practice and conditioning
We implemented this press and have ran it in the last 3 games we’ve played. Best press we’ve ever ran. Simple to explain and implement when you’re the team running it yet confusing to read and break when you’re the team trying to break it. Highly recommend it.
So glad to hear that Coach! What you say about it confusing other teams' defenses is exactly right. Highly effective. Love the video, we are actually having a ton of success using it thru our 1st two games. Do you have a video on the wolve trapping in the half court taking the set plays away from your opponent?
That's a great question Coach, and congratulations on the success you're having. I'm not presently aware of a video that shows how wolves trap, but if we find something, we will let you know!
Awesome. however, works (ie the "2 years no one has run an offense against us) because that's club/travel/aau ... works in run clock. High School with stop clock, depending on your opponent, may or may not be able to do for a whole game.
This press takes such intense physical involvement from your players, it would be hard to sustain all game for sure. It is something that you use to switch up the flow of the game, and create confusion for your opponent. Thanks for the question. The "animals" can do either one. Or, they can go back to a zone defense. You can mix it up to keep the other team's offense off balance.
Hey Coach. I had a lot of success running a 3 1 1 press which is similar to yours. I would have 3 lined up in the front. Middle person at the free throw line. Other 2 on free throw line extended on each side. We would let the other team inbound the ball. 2 of the players up front would set a trap and the 3rd person would slide looking for the pass. We had one at half court floating side to side and one all the way back. I do like your press and I'm going to try it with our team.
Great stuff Coach. The animal press is gaining a lot of traction out there. I hope it works well for you. If you liked this, or other videos you've found on the channel, see what PGC Coaching Certification could do for you by checking here: coach.pgcbasketball.com/pgc-certified/
2-2-1 full court press second line has to come up more so make the long pass so that the bear can get put to wing but if you run a 3-1-1 it will always Beat a 2-2-1
The Animal Press takes time to learn and install, but it's best feature is how it confuses the opponent and results in turnovers/points. It's a good tool to pull out occasionally in a game.
interesting but WRONG!!!! you cannot defend the face but the ball only it s against the rules, so wolves should not blind attackers!!! IT's not fair play of course and kills the sport!

That's correct Coach. A fit team is a healthy team, and is a winning team.
@@PGC_CoachingIf they broke should they run the 2-3 zone, right?

Quick question. Is this continuous, or do the animals go back to m2m principles once the offence gets into their offence?

Does @PGC have defensive camps
Great question. PGC provides a variety of camp experiences. You can find all the details at pgcbasketball.com
Can this be used in the half-court?
This is designed as a full court press, but would be interested to hear how you might adapt it for the half court.
Great coaching video
Thank you
Glad you liked it!
That's remembering me a Harry Potters quideech rules
I usually like watching n learning new content but idk about this
