    Sir overall width of pile cap 1200 (c/c of pile ) + 150x2 ( half of pile ) + 150x2 ( clear cover ) hoga shayad = 1800 mm

      but this is what is written in PC Vegheese book and PC vergheese was the Head of the Civil Engg Department in IIT Chennai.
      yes, IS456 has different explanations for shear distribution.

      the method which is explained in the video is also written in the book of PC Vergheese who was the HOD of civil deptt in IIT Chennai.
      In IS456:2000, shear distribution is explained differently.
