I've worked on a couple of Ercoupes and kinda have a soft spot for them. I wouldn't bother with the rudder pedals if you intend to keep it and fly it. If your intention is to upgrade in the future, you can learn rudder work on something else.
Ercoupes are the safest thing going. Cessnas kill a lot of pilots. Cross controlled spins in the pattern can end a perfectly good flying day. 'Coupes are designed to make that situation virtually impossible.
Rudder pedal conversion does a disservice to the design of this amazing aircraft. Don't ruin a perfectly good aircraft. If you want rudder pedals that badly, buy a two seat Cessna or Piper.
My first airplane ride was out of Pickens county in an Ercoupe . My friend Bob had one and I have many fond memories of that plane .

Just buy a Cessna 150 instead.

Looked like about 200 ft/min rate of climb, adequate.

You guys fly low doesn't look like anywhere to land if the engine quits I think I would go up to 5000 feet at least give some range.
