We will naturally notice similarities and contrasts to things we know well, in their case Stray Kids. It’s also the way we categorise things in our minds, like things with like things. The reason these 2 groups are comparable is simple: they both produce their own music, they both try a wide range of genres and concepts and they stand out from the crowd and aren’t afraid to be themselves within the industry that tends towards cookie cutter groups or systems. It’s the reason both these groups are my ults and the reason I found and continue listen to K-pop daily. Most other groups don’t compare, but these two certainly do.

the word "tomboy" is used in a derogatory way in korean. when a girl acts too 'manly' aka speaking up for herself etc (korean society is insanely patriarchal) they would call the girls tomboy and make fun of them. near the end soyeon says "you get the song right? you get what i mean tomboy" basically telling us she's not referring to the tomboy that we know but rather what is used in korea. they're basically reclaiming it and making it something empowering instead :)) same with queencard. its mainly used for popular girls to kinda make fun of them but in the song they reclaim it and make it something, again, empowering

There are 3 producers in total Minnie Yuqi and Soyeon. They are such a selfmade group with amazing diverse discography. They are bold and not afraid to express themselves on the album.

They tell women that it is okay to be themselves, whether that means breaking out of conservative norms or being a tomboy or a lesbian, they are important. We love G idle for that

Yep, I would argue they really are "the Stray Kids of the girls", and vice versa could be true as well, since they debuted around the same time! They are one of the most hands-on groups to exist in kpop, three of the members produce and write most of their music, and Soyeon (leader) also chooses the whole concept and aesthetics. She's also undoubtedly the best female rapper of the 4th generation
They aren't the girl version of anyone. I know you mean we'll, but that is extremely condescending and insulting. Gidle are just Gidle. They're great off their own merit. Don't compare them.

I'm a big fan of both and I would say they actually are similar in many great aspects, so yeah, no harm intended, but I see why you would see it as a bad terminology
It’s really very normal for a person to compare a new thing they discover to a thing they’re already familiar with. It’s a point of reference. We will naturally notice similarities and contrasts to things we know well, in their case Stray Kids. It’s also the way we categorise things in our minds, like things with like things.
The reason these 2 groups are comparable is simple: they both produce their own music, they both try a wide range of genres and concepts and they stand out from the crowd and aren’t afraid to be themselves within the industry that tends towards cookie cutter groups or systems. It’s the reason both these groups are my ults and the reason I found and continue listen to K-pop daily. Most other groups don’t compare, but these two certainly do.
@@NemosNotes I love Gidle and respect Skz. But I've never seen anyone refer to Stray Kidz as "the male Gidle". Yet that comparison happens a lot to Gidle and other girl groups. There is inherent sexism in that. That's one of the biggest problems with these comparisons. Women can only ever be the female version of a man.

The part of g idle - her friend, or a girl named “Soojin” was inspired by Nxde, and Tomboy as a woman. She was part of g idle until she got kicked out like as “bullying” her school friend, so she got kicked out. Tomboy story - Her friend soojin was on a date, she got poisoned and he killed her. That woman next to him is SOYEON, she poisoned him also and hanged him up for a revenge.
Soojin ALSO loves marylin monro ( forgot how to spell ) so they did a vibe with her idol, like Nxde show.

Soyeon, the lead rapper and producer of the group, heard that the most common way pedophiles look up child p**n in Korea and other parts of asia is by typing in "nxde child" so Soyeon wrote Nxde and named it like that to make it harder for pedophiles to find child p**n because now when you type in Nxde anywhere this song is what comes up the most.
