- (G)I-DLE joined Angelina via zoom to talk about their latest singe 'NUDE'. The girls talked about producing their own songs and having control over their own art. A new album is on its way, so make sure to stay tuned for more music!
Thanks for having Gidle!! They truly are one of the most eye catching group and that too for a variety of reasons, from them being self produced, to the amazing performances they put on and also the depth and meaning behind their songs
As we reach the end of one of the best, if not the best year yet for (G)I-dle. I was thinking about how Soyeon is not only deconstructing women roles in a conservative society like Korea, she's also inspiring a whole generation of young people, besides up and coming women k-pop idols. And I'm glad she's getting worldwide recognition for it, she deserves it all.
Can't wait for what she has to convey next. She's the GOAT.
soyeon takes color inspiration for every album so the next album color will be blue and im so excited!

I dle new meaning?
I thought it was children
The meaning is always been like that since they debut. Their agency gave the group name, 아이들 (aiduel/children). However, the name received mix reactions in SK and also in english "idle" refers to someone who avoids work or lazy. So soyeon add 여자 ( yeoja/women ) in their korean name and adjusted their english name to (G)I-DLE.
Then she combine "i" and 들 ( deul/plural form ) to make the group logo ( i들 with rotating the hangul word), which have meaning exactly like they said in this video.

It's actually a play on words! "아이들" in itself means children, but the word "아이" is pronounced "Ai" and it is derived to mean "I" (as in the subject pronoun) and "들" (pronounced deul) is just a plural marker that is usually added at the end of a noun. So what Yuqi said was right (if you check old interviews of them, they said the same thing as well. One example is when Yuqi explained it on a show called "TMI News" about two years ago).

I don't think so. I think she plays a big part and we all want to hear from her. She's answering mainly in Korean as well. 💜
