I always enjoy your nostalgic shaves. It's odd how scents can take us back. My Dad's favorite aftershave was Old Spice. I can close my eyes and see him whenever I use mine...even though it's not the original. Time does fly by. My Dad has been gone for 13 years. Once again Mrs. H comes through with a beautiful and colorful display. Have a great rest of the week.
Yes, that's what I put on my mum and dad's headstone back together again less than two months between the two passing, am sure me dad was unhappy mother arriving so quickly. lol. Thanks Paul have a good week whats left of it, and keep your powder dry. 😇
Nice memorial shave Paul💈💈showcased by flowers from heaven presented beautifully by Mrs H, thanks. IDK if my dad used Brut, he was an Old Spice and Skin Bracer user but I used a lot of it, miss the original. SOTD: PAA Cube, Hub City "WTX" soap/splash, Elite Razor custom badger brush, Blackland "ERA" razor w/KAI blade, alum, witch hazel and AV 5in1 balm to finish..Fantastic. Thanks for the memory, great video tribute and shave. Enjoy!
Paul you get the closest shave with that Gillette slim twist. And there's nothing better than Brut. I've been using it since 1977 and I will never stop.
My late Father was always an Old Spice kind of man, until my late Brother introduced him to BRUT, he became an instant fan. As always beautiful flowers from Mrs. H. and a great shave by you, Paul. Love the brush! A Happy Father's Day to our Dad's up in the Heavens! Cheers!🍻🥃
Lovely flower arrangement again by Mrs.H. What a Brut of shave, my Dad was more of an Old Spice man. We don't celebrate Father's day here (Aus) until September. Have a great day.👊😎👍
Beautiful shave in memory of your Father and all Fathers who aren't with us anymore, well done! For me, Brut is the Queen scent of all! Take care lad :)
Very nice of you to remember the parents, as well as the flowers from Mrs. H. I also lost mine 7 years ago. He is sorely missed.... My shave today Edwin Jagger, personna razor, Mitchell's Wool Fat soap and as always Weleda after shave balm. I really liked the way you enjoyed Fabergé Brut. I'll have to get it. Hahaha... Keep it up Paul, being as authentic and natural as you are. Best regards. Manuel.
Great tribute shave Paul. It’s been 10 years 3 months since my dead passed. I miss him every day. He used a lot of various razors but always a Brute man. I still use as well and when I do it’s very sentimental 💈
Good afternoon Paul! Mrs. H's flowers never disappoint, well done! I agree with how a certain scent (sounds, especially music can do much the same) can take you right back to yesteryear. Each time I smell Shulton Old Spice shaving soap, I am with my maternal grandfather in the small bathroom under the staircase. He only shaved on Saturdays just after supper...I guess for church and taking my grandmother for their Sunday dinner...yet the bathroom had that scent always. Anyway, I can relate to what you say. Price of the shaving kit doesn't matter much as long as it works for the person using it. I have both expensive and inexpensive gear. To tell the truth, I use the inexpensive stuff more often because it works great for me. SOTD: Gillette Heritage razor loaded with a 1969 Wilkinson Sword NEW Stainless blade (5th use). 1950's Colgate Barber's soap lathered with a Simpson Trafalgar T3 synthetic brush. Finished with Thayer's AF SF skin toner and PAA CaD aftershave. BBS result. Paul, your shave is well done. Always impressed how clean your face looks after shaving. I lost my father 37 years ago. My most prized possessions from him are some coins he collected and a note he wrote. Thanks for sharing and take care.
Really nice shave! Always amazed at how well vintage products continue to perform! My Dad wore Brut, but I was never a fan. Much prefer (of the classics) Skin Bracer, Old Spice, Aqua Velva, but all evoke fond memories of the "old man"! He was a Norelco shaver, victim of modern products that don't perform as well, but still remember being in the bathroom watching, marveling at the ritual. He would rub the back side of the electric razor on my cheek and include me in the process. Great memories. My SOTD Gillette Fatboy with a Shark blade, lavender shave soap (forgot brand, puck from a bargain bin) with a Scalpmaster badger brush, homemade lavender witchhazel, Fine Platinum AS, Every Man Jack mint AS lotion. BTW I lol'd the "much to his dismay...". As always, beautiful, relaxing intro. Cheers to you and Mrs. H. Many happy returns from Colorado, USA! 💈🪒💈
Back to basics with a Slim & Brut, a tried and true combo which cannot be topped. Having some gorgeous weather up here in Northern Wisconsin, which calls for a bbq tonite. Grilled burgers & onions, chocolate pudding and a few pints of ice cold lager. SOTD - Gillette Red Tip, Astra SP blade, Captains Choice Bay Rum shave soap, Clubman Pinaud Bay Rum AS, Art of Shaving unscented balm. See you for the Sunday shave.
Beautiful display by Mrs H, and some great choices for your mid week shave Paul!! Brut is always a personal favorite of mine. My midweek SOTD will be the Gillette Fatboy Executive with a Gillette Spoiler blade, Simpson Chubby 2 Badger Brush, Seaforth Heather soap and aftershave, with some Nivea Men’s cooling lotion to finish the shave. Meal of the day will be some Blackened Snapper with some dirty rice, red beans with Cajun sausage, street corn, and jalapeño cornbread. Have a wonderful day and stay safe!!!
Good morning Paul, again wonderful flowers by Mrs H. We had Father's day a few weeks ago and it's not an official holiday. Have a great day and stay safe 🪒💈
All the best to you. And thanks for that very private shave. Btw. Amazing setup. I love Brut. Bought the Deo Stick in France two weeks ago It has an amazing scent and lasts over the day 🤩
Happy belated Father's Day and Father's Day shave to you, awesome that you can recreate this shave with the scent of the soap and aftershave and everything as well as the razor. Today I'm going to be getting in my 2nd ever vintage razor, a 1960 Fatboy and barring any unforeseen shenanigans that will be my shave of the day along with a Feather blade and then some Proraso Green pre-shave, shaving cream and aftershave.
Hi Paul- Great Wednesday shave; thank you! A very nice shave in honor of your father. You’re right about how quickly time goes bye when are parents are gone. Lovely flower arrangement from Mrs H; thank you very much, as always! Have a great rest of the week. Be safe and be well. See you on Sunday for the weekend shave. All the best, Paul!
Hi Paul watching you use the razor reminded me of my dad he had one.I was Posh I had a W/S sticky it felt posh to me when I was early 20s I regularly used Brut in my 20s the original but what is on sale today somehow doesn't seem to smell the same unless it's me. My shave yesterday went back in time using Parmolive and a basic razor but whatever you want spend you end up with the same result. Kind regards to you and your family. Keep well and keep safe.
Fab(erge) shave Paul!! 💈 Absolutely love love love Brut! As you say the scent brings back so many memories. Gorgeous flowers Mrs H 💐 Hope you both have a great rest of the week 💈💐💈
Another wonderful video. My dad passed away on Valentine's Day 2009. He wasn't a wet shaver. Used the Gillette Sensor most of the time. Did your dad enjoy his shave? Did he also lather up in a bowl and do the usual 3 passes and pick ups? What was his post shave like?
Hey Paul, love Brut and Old Spice all those old fragrances are just brilliant. I see you have a couple of videos with the leaf twig, but I cant see any with the leaf 3 blade razor? Did you ever try it? I got one recently and initially wasnt impressed but im loving it now. Not without its faults but the good really does out weigh the bad. the main issue is under the nose (just go across the grain and against) and figuring out where it starts cutting the sideburns. Plus you have to relearn to apply pressure. My own Dad died a couple of years ago and im a father myself now so fathers day is a bag of mixed feelings (mostly good) Anyway best of luck in the future, take care
Your right about the memories when it comes to Brut. Before all the great scents we have today there were only a few that really made an impact when they came came out such as Brut, English leather, Jade East and High Karate. It was was so bad that my whole middle school smelled like one or all of them. Even the girls were using them. 🤪
Hello Paul the time goes quick to quick after them, when we lost people who stand us near. Special if it's somewhere from the family like father or mother. I hope that the people who have his parents how happy they are. Your shaving videos is awesome as well Paul. Your Gillette Slim Twist is little bit older from my. A have from 1981 this is from my last year past away dad. My mom she lives no more since 2018. All the best Paul ☺️
Nice tribute. I had Brut but was never a big fan. SOTD was the Game Changer .84 and a 2nd. use Bolzano with Stirling Dunshire with frost drops. Always use a hot towel even after my shower. Yaqi 26 professional. Good shave but one nick. Thayers Lavender witch hazel. Alum and Nivea sensitive balm. Aqua DiGio original. Awesome. Take care
Something I noticed the Brut Original aftershave has been missing on the shelves where I am at for many months.... It's back now and the bottle no longer says 'Brut Parfums Pretige' and instead reads ' Brut Parfum de CaracterE'.. Any idea if they have changed manufacturers or something? Both aftershaves, in the previous bottle and in the new one smell about the same. Both appear to be manufactured by Unilever In the U.K. The outer box still reads Brut Parfums Prestige.... Just the print on the bottle has changed.
My Wednesday shave: - -Razor: Merkur 37C -Blade: Permasharp -Brush: Proraso Professional (boar bristle made by Omega) -Pre-Shave: Proraso Green -Shaving Soap: Proraso Green -Postshave: VB & Sons Alum Block -Aftershave: Proraso Red lotion
Great Father’s Day tribute to your dad. How old is that Gillette? I agree with what you said about the razor being a simple tool. I think the problem is, once companies started making junk, and focusing less on quality tools, the user had to spend more money to get a decent tool. No different than going to buy a hammer. How did you make your own eucalyptus witch hazel? That’s a good idea for a video!!
That was a beautiful video Paul and very touching hearing about your Dad, he sounded such an amazing guy! I’m sure he’ll be very proud and happy knowing you did this shave in his honour. Also I saw on FB it was your birthday not long ago, I hope you had a lovely day and many happy returns 😊. Your video really touched me, I have never met my real Father, I’ve had a step dad but was never that close to him. I wish I had of had those memories of learning to shave with my Dad, and I wonder what he is like everyday. I’ve really found yours & Kevy Shaves video so special as you both are so genuine and kind, I guess I kind of look up to you both. Thank you sincerely for all your wonderful content and sharing the special memories of your Dad with us all 😊🤍.
Lovely sentimental shave and dedication to your father. Rather disappointed though you didn't manage a weeper or two to fulfil the perfect 'tribute' and patch-up with bits of newspaper 😂 Seriously though, you can't beat a shave full of memories. By the way, 50 tomorrow eh? Welcome to the 50's Club 👍🏻

Nothing can beat the classic Brut (and Old Spice). Good shave, Paul.

Flowers look WONDERFUL. The Mrs. always dose well. A joy to see.

When I was a kid, Dad was a Brut fan. The stuff was so annoyingly "pungent" that Mom finally made him apply the stuff in the garage.
Great shave Paul 👍 I love faberge brut a trip down memory line
Lost my father in 2009, lost my mother, 2018.
Love and miss them both, still hurts.
My dad was an Old Spice man as long as I knew him.
Hello Paul, im working my way through your old Brut shaves. Beautiful bouquet as always
Lovely flower arrangement again by Mrs.H. What a Brut of shave, my Dad was more of an Old Spice man. We don't celebrate Father's day here (Aus) until September. Have a great day.👊😎👍
Lost my dad exactly two years ago today. I shaved with paa et tu in his memory. Loved your tribute Paul, made me tear up more than once.
Morning Paul. Thank you.

Very classic, very nice!
