What a guy! Tough start, magical moments, great professional attitude and one of the most skillful strikers we've been lucky to have.
Skill, style, intelligence, he had the lot. He carried Villa through some tough seasons with his goals but he never really got the recognition that he deserved outside our Club. Great to see that he has so many happy memories of his time at Villa and I'd love to see him come back in some capacity or other too (attacking coach maybe?) Long live Pablo Angel. UTV VTID

A mí también en el momento que llegó Juan Pablo a Jugar en el Villa Para con el Aston Villa me gustó ese equipo,su color de camiseta es fantástico,espero que puedan algún día ganar la Premier al igual que lo hizo un club de menos historia como el Leicester y que puedan jugar Champions o Europa League, ojalá fueran más colombianos,Carlos la Roca Sánchez también jugó ahí

Before JPA signed a lot of fans were protesting very vocally against Doug Ellis in the hope that he would spend big money on Benni McCarthy. The Angel move took many of us by surprise but the majority felt that he was a player that WE had signed by exerting so much pressure on the board. £9.5m was huge money at that time. JPA was almost immune to any criticism even after a slow start because we were all so desperate for him to do well. I remember the first goal he got that helped to relegate Coventry - the crowd went mad and the scenes were of pure joy. Good times!
All in all he was a waste of money benni was a much better forward.
He justified the fee overall i thought, we were a mid table-ish club during his tenure, i remember being dissapointed when MON let him go.
@@jimmypopt.v.3037 he was top goal scorer at the time - similar to the Ings situation of this year. Worked out ok though as John Carew arrived with Ashley Young and Shaun Maloney in the Jan window. JPA was a solid servant to the club and I would certainly say he was worth the fee. Beni McCarthy ended up as a bloated waste of space at Blackburn if I recall so he certainly wasn’t the messiah we all hoped he would be.
His awareness and overall intelligence was on another level compared to most of his team mates. He would have really excelled at Man U, or Arsenal at that particular time in the Prem. Great player, and loved watching him down the Villa.
I wish he played for us now. There's only Juan Pablo Angel. What a great man and player.

It was great to sit and watxh and listen to Juan Pablo speak so eloquently about our football club. He speaks so intelligently abkut football and his time in the Premier Lge with us. I never knew he had the problems with his newborn at the time of fist playing in the claret'n'blue.. Juan Pablo could and most definitely should have a place here with us when u hear the way he soeaks about us as a football institution..
I've really enjoyed hearing him soeak after so many years away from the club. U can tell this place still holds a lot of great memories for him.
This is a man that from listening to his words at the end would love to make his mark again at our football club. That was great to hear from him that he woukd love to work with the ckub again in some capacity. Has he done his coaching badges?? Maybe that's a route we should go down by bringing ex players from the recent era's back to be part of our coachimg teams?? I would live to see that happen. Juan Pablo loves this footbalk club and I used to soeak to him a lot afyer he left to go to the MLS. He is a gentleman and always had time fod the suooorters even afyer he left our club which has always meant a hell of a lot to me and many more supporters. He always gave us of his tine which most players wouldn't bother doing. This guy shoukd have a role at the club and hopefully it's not too ling before it happens because u can tell his heart is still here with the fans and the club as a whole. God speed Juan Pablo. It was lovelg to see and hesr from u again after all these years.. 12 yesrs since he played at the Villa.. Oh my days.. Best of luck to the man and his whole family.. Massive respect for this man..

Convinced this guy could have played for any of the big European clubs. Was lethal in the box. Unfortunately the teams he played in weren’t that creative. If he played in the team with Milner, Petrov, Young etc think he would have got 20 league goals
