there were only 2 attempts to catch ...and they both worked ( not 2 out of 3 ) the other one the comm ariel mast blew over so they didnt attempt to bring the booster back.. god knows what damage happens because of no flame trench the blast goes straight down and straight back up ..water there or not..
@cornerpage6634 Also worth noting that since the reason was related to the tower and not the rocket that the rocket should be assumed to have been successful since it's 2/2 with very similar blocks.
Three billion US taxpayer dollars wasted so far, and all we got is a booster that's recoverable. Musky said he'd have us on Mars by now. He can't do what NASA did in the 1960s! On behalf of the sane American taxpayers, We Want Our Money Back!!
What happens next? Some more flights taking NOTHING (or a banana) to orbit, followed by Musk AGAIN walking back the raptor thrust, followed by the design of a new, smaller, rocket that might do some actual work. THAT'S what!!!!
I really liked this like I do with all of the videos that SFN does :)
Good report! - Dave Huntsman
Thank you chaps -
Honestly, the development progress of Starship at this point is pretty amazing in itself
BUHUHUHAHAHAAAAAAAAA
He is very happy
The launch was a lot of fun to watch. The booster return and catch was almost perfect.
It's a test launch these things are expected why do people always panic.
That shot was a great launch...heck of a landing again or catch...Go Go Go Space X...at lease the problem was found

There were also two successful catches over the last three launches. That doesn't mean 1 was unsuccessful necessarily, it just didn't happen.

Glad that the Turks and Caicos Islands have called in the AAIB in to investigate - a highly respected and professional organisation.
