Wife wrote her Master's thesis about those ponds. Probably not iron pits, but just subsidence of the eroded materials off the mountain, and there's limestone underlying. The trails were ATV paths 15 years ago.
Ohhh loved the ponds. would be fun to have an underwater cam to see what in the ponds. That huge dragon fly was unique. I've never seen one that huge and I am 69 this year. God Bless 🙏🙏🌺🏞
Hey Cliff. Appreciate your observation of the different plant species. There’s an interesting restoration project going on in Southeast Pa. Called Pink Hill Serpentine barrens. Thought ya might appreciate. Thanks for sharing
I don't feel confident hiking off trail in nature preserves. I'm sure I would get lost and they would find my dead body months later. So thanks for taking me along on this adventure. And the closeup of the dragonfly was amazing!
What a beautiful place! You always find such unique areas.
Beautiful ! Cliff
Snakes go in water . Something I didnt know.Nice ponds
Looks like a prehistoric dragon fly. Peaceful spot.
Interesting hike. Yeah, those ponds would definitely mosquito factories. Thanks for sharing!
Fantastic video thanks Cliff. The area is so lovely and green. The ponds were lovely. Can imagine all the tadpoles in there. Thanks for taking me along. Please take care
Mosquitoes. One of the outdoorsman/woman enemies!!
Hubby says watch for rattlesnakes in that Area......they go in for frogs. They had a photo on UA-cam they found around the pool at Caledonia. It was Huge! There are a lot of rattlesnakes above Caledonia....Rocky Knob.
I've been on Sunset ridge also above park office. Between June and August is when Rattlesnakes travel.
What an interesting place! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks Cliff.
Is the dragonfly laying eggs, perhaps😊
thanks Cliff
wonderful place. nice hike🥾
Looking more like swamps and mosquitoes love them.
Hey. In my backyard again. Hope you had a great time.
Thanks awesome video I enjoyed watching
There's some amazing ponds on the west side of mt Cydonia sand quarry on 997...those ponds can be accessed by following the trail along the creek...several of those ponds hold extremely large bass...
They are up on Tumbling Falls Run also on 233. County border, near top of rocks. Watch for rattlesnakes.
On my hike yesterday I had a fly circle my head for a mile.. my watch tracked me as having a vigorous aerobic workout from all the swatting 😅
Been looking at that spot on the lizard map. Was reluctant to go since it showed no trails. Thanks for taking us. 👍🙂🦟🦟🦟🦟🦟
Hi Cliff and everybody els..
I alsways hear these birds in Cliffs Videos these from 8:30 until 9:00
Also i can remember they were upset when Cliff talks about Sasquatches and Bigfoot then in 2019.. and they followed him after then.
That noise was HIDEOUS. That's one park I won't visit.
Nice sharing Vidio.. very inspiring and useful.. God Bless You 🇮🇩😍♥️👍👍
Great video love the ponds dragonfly was cool too ty Steve On To The Next YES PLEASE 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ IT
A swamp monster
I kept waiting for the creature from the black lagoon to pop out. That one pond with the glass like surface and the other side of it was stagnant was beautiful. I never saw such a big dragonfly. As you were walking down the road near the end it looked like something was crossing the road way behind you. I noticed it a couple of times a certain way you were turned. Probably just my imagination, but you never know. This was nice, even with the bugs.❤❤❤
Just warning you! You wouldn't expect it ,I know!
It looked like someone was walking on the road some distance behind you as you were walking out to jeep.
Yep I noticed it too. Laugh if you want but it looked like big and black.....Bigfoot.
Surprised by all the leaves on the ground, means you aren't sneaking up on anything unless it is deaf or dead. And yes place like this tend to be bug heavens which often means being eaten alive. Be nice to the bumble bee.
the bugs were rather pesky. I guess because the ponds are seasonal turtles and frogs don't live in them
What kinda camera do
You use to record ? And do you know what kind of dragon fly that was ?
Sony AX43
I looked snakes up on Google but none match him.
Where in the video did you see a snake?
@@nancymann5351 No I go walking to .I saw a snake in one of the streams I have to cross.
