With some of these "bad" foods I wonder whether they are more healthy when fermented, which is traditional in most cultures. For example when soy beans are cultured into tempeh or natto, when raw, unpasteurised milk is made into kefir, yogurt, cheese etc, even some grains when properly fermented to make bread- all organic, non gmo, grass fed... ?
Although we don’t eat soy , peanut , corn etc. all legume we eat soak and sprout before cooking. It helps. I do ferment some veggies, never ferment tomato, and bell pepper.

At 32 I'm losing my memory, struggling with brain fog, insomnia, dry eyes and mouth, weakness, fat and sugar cravings, constant hunger. I went to multiple doctors they check my blood, heart, MRI.everything is ok according to them, but I feel like I am dying, they prescribe antidepressants which makes me feel sicker. Since I was 8 years old, now I am 50, I have been diagnosed with Hydradentenitis Supervia. Spent years trying harsh meds and treatments, did not help, sometimes they made it worse. I was introduced to a Holistic Dermatologist 5 years ago, and focusing on my diet, I was encouraged to go Keto, but also removing the nightshades and some fungal foods. I did go through three sensitivity tests to pick out items that I needed to avoid. I finally became into remission three years ago, no more draining tumors, my skin is clear for the first time in my life. It is very true that diet plays an integral part in your health over all. Thank you for thee comment on inflammation. I was praying the other day as my upper abd/ lower chest cavity is where I sensed there was a lot of inflammation. Very good explanation. I have to say your videos about food, nutrition, and the way how you explain them are the best so far on youtube. I really enjoy listening to you.
Toxins are carried in the fats of meats, so if you’re getting the factory farmed stuff, go for leaner cuts and then add a healthy oil or grass fed butter (if you can get that). Best of luck. Do what you can, and celebrate your victories.
Thank you Leono Kis. Just do your best and improve from there. Good advice from @phil pecoraro above. Start with getting the "dirty dozen" vegetables organic. Not all vegetables are equally crucial to get organic
Thank You so much for Your information. I just want to correct one thing, I am a farmer, glyphosate is not a pesticide, it is a herbicide, and kills weed, not insects.
Very good presentation and I like how you stress that not all foods are good (or bad for everyone). I have Chronic Kidney Disease stage3a, and chronic gout. I am very limited in anything with phosphorus, sodium and potassium. I cannot have whole grains but instead have white breads etc in moderation, little to no dairy which is easy, I don't drink milk, I prefer almond milk. Certain veg and fruit are to be avoided while others are advised. I can have eggs, tofu, cod, chicken and enough fruit and veg for a well rounded diet. It's not easy but gout is very painful and I'm trying to keep my kidneys from getting any worse. When it comes to choosing between eating poorly or improving my health it's a no brainer.
Doctor what are you eating? Can you create a 7 day week menu for the average who have IR issues? I sincerely understand everyone is different. So much information out there and is over stimulating. You are so thorough. Thank you
Wow, that was awesome! I sent it to my daughter in California McGregor because she's very much into health and I've never heard this stuff before. Thank you so much! I subscribed.
Lectins from beans can be removed if you soak the beans overnight and cook in a pressure cooker. Lectins from night shade veggies can be removed if you remove the peel and the seeds or cook them in pressure cooker. I don’t eat neither because they still have carbs. I only eat cruciferous vegetables.

I’m sensitive to everything under the sun! I have a genetic predisposition, unfortunately, (HLA DQ8, and MTHFR hetero)and have been seeing a integrative medicine doctor for 15 years I had +4 and +3 for most of these things, plus a bunch of others and I wish I would’ve been told the back then that it meant that I have a leaky gut! Now when I eat any of this stuff after trying to stay away from it, I get intense joint pain, bloating in the midsection, puffiness in my eyes and face and fingers, and instant weight gain. It is so hard to stay on track and stay away from these foods! Any advice on occasionally eating these things?
Thank you Laurie H. Yes that certainly sounds like a leaky gut. You can probably heal the gut and get much better, but you may have to pretty much avoid at least the worst of the foods forever.
One of the best things for food sensitivity is ginger. Best buy some ginger root, grate about a table spoon for a regular tea cup, pour hot water, add a touch of turmeric if you so choose. But no sugar.
I have found that following a blood type diet helped me get well. Can you talk about the four different blood types. I had a severe reaction to avocados, Lima beans, wheat, potatoes and the list went on. I found that when I use the blood type diet as my base as to veggies I could eat and feel healthy. I have been intermittent fasting for ~ 4 days. Stopped sugar. Stopped intake of soy/canola oil by reading ingredients. Also stopped ALL medications. I have to say I feel better - so much improvement in joint aches & muscle aches. I have moved to grass fed meat and dairy. I'm pretty stoked. Also purchased 70% dark chocolate (without any additves) and have to say the taste isn't off-putting.
Thank you for another wake up call video! I should probably scan your list of videos, however I wondered if you have an in-depth breakdown of the various alternative grains for bread including rye, amaranth, kamut, millet, teff, barley, and oats. Also would be interested in your advice on sprouted bread. Sorry if you've already covered these two. Over my dead body am I giving up an occasional grilled cheese on sourdough. :)
Thank you Eric Jensen. Sprouted is slightly better, but doesn't really change anything. There are more and more alternatives popping up. The trick is to not substitute one allergen for another. I'll do more on this.
Thank you Zura Geo. JUst keep her away from processed food and sugar. They will eat real food when they get hungry. Nourishing traditions by Sally Fallon is good. She has a book about babies and kids too.

Hi Dr. Sten! I appreciate very much what you are doing. Thank you for your very informative videos. How do we treat leaky gut? Appreciate it if you could have a segment about it's treatment. Thanks again.
I'm curious about goat milk. I've switched to that to have in my coffee. I've had almond and cashew milk as well and try to alternate between them all.
I eliminated wheat and vegetable oils entirely and have simultaneously eliminated the reflux I suffered from for many years. But occasionally some slips into my diet. Maybe I am visiting someone and don't want to be rude for example. And boy do I know about it. I get racing heart, headaches-aches everywhere-and severe bloating. I would say that since cutting out wheat it is actually worse when I DO eat some than it was before. Is that something other people find?
If you can afford meat, you can afford grass fed meat. Even Walmart sells grass fed meat. Think about it? There has to be sonething you can "give up" to better your life. If not, that's YOUR choice; isn't America great?
@@cyavelle Your statements aren't true for everyone. Those surviving on disability or Social Security and are unable to work have very limited budgets and there's usually nothing left to cut. When rent, fuel, utilities and grocery prices keep going up and up but the income doesn't it's only a matter of time before one can't afford much in the way of food. Food banks give out most of their food in the form of pasta, beans, cereals, canned goods and rice. Grain fed beef here is $4-12 a lb and grass fed is $8-16 a lb, even at Walmart. Grain fed pork is $2-3 a lb. and there's NO grass fed pork available. Whole chickens are around $5 but a pasture raised one is $10. So no, not everyone who can afford meat can afford grass fed meat and it's not a "choice" either.
@@cyavelle Excuses my rear. A 62 year old woman I know gets $780 a month on disability, including the $8 increase she got in January. Her rent has gone up $100 in the last 12 months but you think she can "make a way" for what she wants? She'll be evicted if she can't pay the increase or she gives up buying any groceries at all. As it is, she only weighs about 102 lbs and doesn't drink, smoke, have TV or internet or go out yet you think she can give up something and buy grass fed meat? You should be careful about riding as high a horse as you do, reality is a long, long fall from that height.
Dear Dr. Ekberg....I cannot believe your videos. Seems like I cannot get enough. Have struggled with thryroid medication...switched to Armour which made huge difference. Long story short...I have been struggling with weight...can't gain because I am gluten, sugar free. And,meats and poultry minimal and eat mainly veggies, beans and rice. Now that you've enlightened me about lectins...well, that's my next plan of trial. Will cut back on lectins, and up my coconut milk- veggie shake/smoothies. Maybe, just maybe, it will help put some weight on. I'm 5'5' and weigh 96.5. Oh yes, I am lactose intolerant too. Hashimoto's too. Have gotton my high blood pressure down naturally. Dr. Sten Ekberg will do Doc! My naturopath is placing me on a protocol to rebuild my gut soil also dependent on SIBO testing.
Thank you for thee comment on inflammation. I was praying the other day as my upper abd/ lower chest cavity is where I sensed there was a lot of inflammation. I have been trying (probably halfheartedly...
truth be known) to replace gut flora but I know I need to be more diligent.
Have lots of issues.
Thank you for your comment...it was confirmation to me!
I find it baffling that corn can be processed into both an oil AND a syrup.
And chips and flour and fuel additives. Is that it?
Hubby (Cardio-vascular surgeon) and I would love to see what you eat in a day / week, as mentioned below. Thank you!
Very good explanation. I have to say your videos about food, nutrition, and the way how you explain them are the best so far on youtube. I really enjoy listening to you.
I'm trying to eat healthy and do keto. Unfortunately, I can only afford grain fed meat, fish, poultry. Even organic veggies are pricey.
Not sure where you live, but Walmart and Aldi sell 100% grass fed meat for $4.99 pound
I just use grass fed organic eggs, organic avocados, and organic lettuce (lots)..no meats and I can afford these.
Try eating 2 meals a day. You can use the extra money for organic products.
Love your videos. But would like to see a video of what your day of eating looks like
I love your sarcasm! Bartender quote was the best!
Thank You so much for Your information. I just want to correct one thing, I am a farmer, glyphosate is not a pesticide, it is a herbicide, and kills weed, not insects.
It is called Vegetable oil as against mineral oil and animal oil.
Amazing! Thank you Doc! Any chance you can also talk about histamine sensitivity related to nightshades, alcohol, canned foods and many other foods?
I wish this would have been discussed as well, since that is my nr 1 problem and helpful information about it varies a lot
I dont know what to eat anymore ! 😭😭
🤣Apparently, all foods have some issues. Relax, eat a bit of everything.
@samk , Dr Sten Ekberg does have videos on what to eat look for them.
Me too 😂
Doctor what are you eating? Can you create a 7 day week menu for the average who have IR issues? I sincerely understand everyone is different. So much information out there and is over stimulating. You are so thorough. Thank you
Wine and dried fruit are extremely high in Sulphites and many are highly allergic to it.
Thank you Dr. Ekberg for this health issue which is important. I love the way you talk slow ,loud and clear. PERFECT!
I grow some of my veggies and herbs. I get my fresh chickens and eggs from my neighbors family. They treat there chickens exceptionally well..Love it!
Wow, that was awesome! I sent it to my daughter in California McGregor because she's very much into health and I've never heard this stuff before. Thank you so much! I subscribed.
So pretty much, the only healthy thing I can eat is Water...
Not really. Most water sources are contaminated. 😁
Not all water is healthy most are dead water
You don't eat water. You can only drink it.
Lectins from beans can be removed if you soak the beans overnight and cook in a pressure cooker. Lectins from night shade veggies can be removed if you remove the peel and the seeds or cook them in pressure cooker. I don’t eat neither because they still have carbs. I only eat cruciferous vegetables.
great information, thank you , you are a great healer. this comes from a guy who studied health for over 36 years. I
Ok so what can we eat? I’m a type 2 diabetic with heart disease cardiovascular disease and neuropathy and a stent so I come to you for help and I have no gall bladder and want to eat better but all you said was don’t eat a lot of what’s out there my dinner tonight was blueberries and seed toast
I think that the old saying that “another persons food can be another person’s poison. Please comment on the four blood types please
You became my favorite doctor👌👍Thank you for all your knowledge 🙏 I love all your suggestions. Firs time today I am upset a bit because a red wine is also in the list:))) That’s hard :) I can live without everything except a glass of good dry wine 😓😓😓
Thank you Doctor great information 👍
Starting at about 9:04 an excellent description of lectins and how it affects cell membranes. Watched it a few times so I could better grasp it. Very interesting. Thanks doc.
Thanks 😊
I have been intermittent fasting for ~ 4 days. Stopped sugar. Stopped intake of soy/canola oil by reading ingredients. Also stopped ALL medications.
I have to say I feel better - so much improvement in joint aches & muscle aches. I have moved to grass fed meat and dairy. I'm pretty stoked.
Also purchased 70% dark chocolate (without any additves) and have to say the taste isn't off-putting.
Are ANCIENT GRAINS good?
Amaranth, quinoa, farro, etc?
Please answer? 🙏
Yes.
Spelt has been recommended to me by an iridiologist. Dr Eric Berg has a video on ancient grains and modern wheat
@@skyejacques Thanks so much! 😊
No
Thank you for another wake up call video!
You can make your own grain free grilled cheese sandwich. Look up Joe Duff the diet chef on UA-cam.
@@kayeszymanski6945 Thanks, helpful youtube channel.
Thank you Eric Jensen. Sprouted is slightly better, but doesn't really change anything. There are more and more alternatives popping up. The trick is to not substitute one allergen for another. I'll do more on this.
You, are an excellent Speaker, articulate, knowledgeable, to the point, easy to follow and understand.
Thank you Doc for this valuable information that my doctor don’t even know.
Dr.Ekberg please make a video about kids and healthy food. I have 3 year old daughter. It so hard to choose the right food for her.
Thank you Zura Geo. JUst keep her away from processed food and sugar. They will eat real food when they get hungry. Nourishing traditions by Sally Fallon is good. She has a book about babies and kids too.
Dr. Sten Ekberg Thank you very much for reply. Huge thanks also for changing my life. I’m doing Keto for 2 month. Recently moved from 18:6 to 20:4 of IF. Feeling great.
Dried fruits besides fructose are coated with Potassium Sorbate , added also to processed foods, meats, some cheeses, salad dressing plus to many other.
Why food industry doesn't use EDTA instead. Some better prossesed foods use EDTA. Potassium Sorbate is histamine releaser for many people.
Cutting back on some of the things mentioned has worked for me. Lost 12 pounds and have kept it off. Thanks
I see there was a study on soybean oil given to mice that caused genetic changes. It might be something to keep track of if they start human trials.
1. Mediterranean diet combined with IF some days during week.
2. Moderate exercise (especially outdoors in the sun)
3. Less stress/Socialize/Keep strong family & friends relations/smile and avoid bitterness
And you "ll live up to 100...and healthy...
Hi Dr.Ekberg! Would you please mention or include in one of your teaching video the pros and cons of the grain called Teff? Is it better than quinoa for our body as the internet says? Thank you so much for all you do!
Please could you explain why bell pepper is one of your best food in this list
And one of the worst in your bad food list ?
"It's high fructose on steroids" .😂😂😂😂😂
"alcohol is often promoted as healthy"
wow first time i heard this ever in my life!
Oh, forgot,... really like your videos. Your delivery is flawless!!
I use organic 02 grain to make seitan and one-two vegan pizza per week. I started intermittent fasting with vegan keto. Seitan is ok. I like to be fat but I want put off inflammetion. After years I do not understand if tomato is a problem because of quantity or intollerance. Poteto do not give me problems but I will stop, Thank-you.
I've been eating wheat germ all my life everyday. I'm 72. Please tell me if wheat germ is good or bad for my health. Thank you
Thank you Dr Ekberg! I learn a lot from your videos. What do you think about the use of honey as a sweetener?
Hi Wenan Smith. I made a video on it. ua-cam.com/video/u3mNYwBqgkA/v-deo.html
Dr. Sten Ekberg Thank you very much!
Is coconut oil good for cooking ?
this is a great video. particularly interesting to me was the mention of just how out of balance people's omega 6's are to their omega 3's (20 - 1). Can I ask if you have a link to the source for that information, I'd really be interested to learn more. thanks!
There are lots and lots of studies on this if you search the innernet
@@GM-xo7yy yeah, I kinda figured that after I never got a reply from the good doc
Hi Dr. Sten! I appreciate very much what you are doing. Thank you for your very informative videos. How do we treat leaky gut? Appreciate it if you could have a segment about it's treatment. Thanks again.
Would you recommend raw whole milk from grass-fed cows?
Thank you Yvonne Finnegan. Most people do well on raw milk. A few are still sensitive.
Thanks a lot I have been struggling with leaky gut, this information change my life
Super videos Dr Ekberg, yes , but now what could we eat ? with those feds that are nasty for ours; it s became really difficult!
How do I make sure the fish is not grain-fed?? far out not everybody can afford organic (if present) anyways.
I think you gotta make sure it's wild caught and not farm raised.
@@charliedavis8894 Excuses. EVERYONE makes a way for what they want...
I have a question????? So what should we eat ? And how many population afford to eat Organic food.
I TRY to walk every day and other exercises. Any suggestions??
Great video Dr. Ekberg love the way you explain how things work!
Tomatoes are antiangiogenic which is good so I'm going to try peeling deseeding and pressure cooking and see how it goes!
Is there anything left to eat?🙄
Virgin coconut oil is a fruit oil too. Refined coconut oil is of course deadly.
Do you recommend avoiding grains altogether? What do you think of Ezekial brand of breads?
I'm getting stressed for choosing food, in fact the grass fed or all organics are kinda exclusive in my community..
Is there 40 different words or names for MSG Flavor inhancer.???Cause many ill health symptoms. Reactions. Please list them. Please? We have so much ache gut issues. Help us!!!
Beans always make me feel better. I would never give them up.
Outstanding information doctor. 👍👍👍👌👌👌👌👏👏👏🙏👋
Thank you Giselle Belle.
How can we stand by fish
What they eat and then we eat them ?
For the moment , we eat to survive
My greatgrandma made 96, my aunt made 84
Without garlic in her household
So glad you stressed 'if' you are sensitive. So many do not eat videos on the market just say 'no' regardless of whether you have an issue with. (I am referring to the some night shades and peanuts and dairy - no problems here.) Also so glad touching on issue of mans interference; heirloom seeds are terrific.
Hi , I,m really find your videos very interesting. Just a little thing you stated that glyphosate was a insecticide . Is it used as a herbercide and insecticide?
I was able to eat Grass fed and finished beef , but now im lucky to get grass fed - grain finished from my butcher because of the meat shortage. Do you have any ideas doctor ? Im in Gwinnett , I usually buy 14 to 20 lbs a week every week because i have steak and eggs every day .
Thank you Nathan Baker. It's not steak, but Walmart has grass fed ground beef and I heard that even Aldi has it too. I order some meat from blackwing online.
Thank you so much Dr Ekberg , I am on butcher box waiting list to order , but I will look at blackwing now.
@@PSYCHOPATHICSPEEDEMONOVERDOSE I don't know about your area, but some places have health food stores that sell local or regionally raised meats. Also, you might be able to find bison via an online source.
Also see if you have an organic Farmers' Market in your area. I get 90% of my food there, including grass-fed, grass-finished beef. For anyone in the Houston area, Nassau Bay Farmers' Market meets across from NASA (on NASA Rd 1) on Saturdays 10 AM - 2 PM
I buy from butcher box the meat is excellent
So horrible not being able to eat only grass fed. Its soooooo expensive,!!
Tack sa mycket.
