I became hooked to animated crossovers around 4 years ago and XNightShadeX and her Ariel/Peter video is one of the main reasons ( • Disney Crossover - Pet... ). I have longed to work with these two and now I finally created the perfect story! Beware of cuteness! X3
OBS: As a child Ariel had romantic feelings towards Peter which later turned just platonic, while Peter´s feelings were always 100% platonic (their relationship was never anything more than that).
Dose this count as a sad ending?

I remember watching this when I was younger, during my “Disney crossover” phase and crying uncontrollably. I can’t believe I found it and I’m crying again.

I have just realized something. The words "will you still love me when I'm no longer young and beautiful" hold such a deep meaning. In the story of Peter Pan he takes young children to his world so they can be happy but in this video, he still has feelings for Ariel even when she is no longer a child. Normally he would go off and find some other child but for some reason he stuck with her because she was most likely one of his true friends. To me, that holds such a deep meaning. That sums up my deep emotional blurb.
This is so sad tho. ;3;

I'd say it's bittersweet, because of what happens to Ariel in the end, for in the end she was gone; but he still loved her platonically.

Those movies provided this person with characters who have expression and movement. These aren't better but rather great "What Ifs" that bounce off of the beauty of the originals.
Banter Board As someone who grew up with the *all* of the classic Disney movies, I’m offended. These crossover vids are great, yeah but there is no competition. You can’t compare what’s already the best (the movies duh)

The recolouring and masking around melody I am completely in awe over, honestly your technical skills are the best I've ever seen! Not to mention how beautiful this story and the music was, the ending broke my heart though, part of me was hoping Tink could use some pixie mojo or whatever to age Peter/keep Ariel young XD

I love this so much ;-; I love the immortal x mortal thing, because it gave the video such a sad setting! The whole platonic thing is really cute and believable too, Peter being an eternal kid (On the outside and on the inside) I don't think he'd ever get romantic feelings. Melody as teen ariel was perfect, I love the manips with her!

Its funny how this fits so well, but then it seems totally correct when you realize how disney films are chronologically ordered. The major disney animated films all take place in staged eras in groups of 3. For example, alladin, hercules, and mulan all take place at the same time (based on the carpet ride alladin takes across the globe), and those are technically the earliest cannon films, occurring around 4-500 AD. Then there is sleeping beauty, snow white and sword in the stone, all taking place around 1100-1300AD. Then you have Little mermaid, hunchback, and beauty and the beast around 1600 AD. Then peter pan, alice in wonderland and the jungle book occurs around 1850AD. But here's the rub.... Peter is functionally immortal and time stands still for him in never land.... so theorhetically... Pan himself could quite possibly predate ALL the disney movies and have witnessed the entire cannon unfold from beggining to end, (well save for the lion king which is the first in the cannon as it lacks humans thus probably predates our species emergence). So its possible from a standpoint of logic that he knew of the mer people of atlantia, just as he knew the mer people of neverland. which always made me wonder if the merpeople came from neverland to earth initially.... or did they eventually abandon earth and flee to neverland once man became to great a threat.... which would coincide with mans development of deep sea exploring machines in the 1800's and the pan movie taking place during that era. Perhaps ariel led her people to flee to pans world and maybe they did eventally know each other. Makes ya think.
You are giving me way too much credit! XD I just wanted to tell a story about innocent love between an immortal boy and mortal girl, and Peter and Ariel simply fit the criteria I had for the roles. I never tired to follow canon Disney lore, so everything is just a coincides.
TheNamelessDoll Do have a question for ya. The scene where ariel is elderly 3:31 , Did that come from one of the films or did you edit it to make her look elderly, if so bravo on your skill. if not i'm fascinated to know where it came from.

Finally someone who addresses this problem! I like how you used Melody and Athena to portray all ages, especially the latter, it was heartbreaking ;__; In the end, I just stared at my screen and couldn't believe it. Ariel died of old age. Just ... wow. Do you know how rare it is to see all consequences of such a couple? Normally, the human becomes immortal or dies before he can reach a significant age, but your Ariel gets older and older while Peter stays young - it's wonderful.
The lip-synchro is unbelievable, too! It really looks insanely hard, but the effort was definitely worth it!

How do you do this? What sorcery have you mastered, oh great editing wizard of the internet?
TalesofGirl4ever Of all the pairings that I have used, there is only ONE that I "ship". The other ones were simply chosen because they fit the "roles" of my story the best and they look good side by side (their animation styles don't clash).
The whole process of putting two characters together is called digital composting which I do in Adobe After Effects. Then I edit the clips together in Final Cut Pro. ^_^

I was looking for a young and beautiful Disney crossover that actually had to do with a young girl loving this boy and we get to see her age (but I think mine had where both girl and boy age together lol)!! You nailed it!!!! I may possibly be crying of how beautiful and sad the story is... but mostly cuz it's beautiful!!

I watched this when it came out and I still go back and rewatch this video and it makes me tear up each time.
I'm not a huge fan of this paring. But when scrolling on the internets I found this so I was curious so I clicked on it. I was never expecting this to be so amazing, like I'm not a huge fan of this paring but it's just so amazing. I really feel for the characters.
Oh my goodness! I am, no word of a lie, tearing up right now. This is the most incredible crossover I've seen in a very, long time and is, officially, my new favourite. The level of emotion in it is astounding. I can't even imagine how much work it was to edit, but I really can appreciate all of the time you've put into it. The end result - completely worth it, right? :) I love how you transitioned Ariel through the years using both Melody and her mother to play the part. I've never seen that done before! :D The gray hair at the end was an especially nice touch. There are so many little moments that my editing heart was fangirling over; teen Ariel coming up out of the water, Peter coming back to look for her at the end, Peter knighting Ariel in the cave - and pretty much every scene where the two of them are in the same frame. Excellent work with the colour changes as well! Did you use After Effects for that? Also, I can't get over how CLEAR the video is. No grainy pixels whatsoever! Really, I could go on forever but I don't want to flood the comments lol. Long story short, I adore this, I adore you and I can't wait to see what you come up with next. You're a new Queen of the Crossovers as far as I'm concerned. Many of the recent crossover I've seen just don't have this degree of precision and depth, which is a little disappointing :( Anyways, beautiful job!

I used AF for all the colour changes and MAN did it take time. So many layers with different colours and maskings... -_-
After working with HD movies for the first time I knew I could never go back. It is too beautiful! XD But there were some scenes that I had to struggle with in order to save because they had become pixely after the colour-changes.
I said it isn't enough, but what more can I say?

This is absolutely beautiful. I love that you actually addressed the whole Peter-is-always-a-child thing, which nobody ever seems to do when they use him in pairings… and you made it work wonderfully. I think that ending counts as bittersweet more than sad :)

Lovely video! The song, the colours, the masking... Perfect! Especially using Melody with red flowing hair. "These Dreams" was one of the first crossovers I ever saw & got me into them too :)
I can't stop look at it again and again. And every time it makes me cry. There is something in this association of the music and the film that tuch my child soul so much...it is just one of the most beautiful things i saw. Thank you.
