  • What's truly important in life? This Bible teaching contrasts two kings: King Herod & Christ the King of Kings. All that's left of King Herod's kingdom are ruins and ashes. However, Christ's Kingdom is eternal and extends to all corners of the earth.

    2. It’s on the edge of the Judean Wilderness that lies to the southeast.
    3. It was built upon a natural mountain which gave it added protection.

Excellent contrast, Pastor Mike. LORD allow me to build Your kingdom, and cast out any unfruitful work within me.

The stone that the "builders" rejected has now become the cornerstone. Herod the Builder huh? Well, there have been many builders in the history of this world to include Freemasons who are known as the builders that reject Christ and lean on doctrine such as "know thyself". I'm on the side of the Chief Cornerstone...Jesus Christ. The ROCK of my salvation. See Psalm 188:22, Matthew 22:42 and Acts 4:11. Almost home saints, not much longer!

I have been enjoying the videos - thank you!
I am sorry to hear you use a Bible sourced from corrupt manuscripts, however. The passage from Philippians you read from says the exact opposite of the KJV which is derived from the Majority text. It reads as follows:
5Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6Who, being in the form of God, THOUGHT IT NOT ROBBERY TO BE EQUAL WITH GOD: 7But made himself of NO REPUTATION, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men."
It is saying that although He considered Himself fully equal with God, He willingly made Himself of no reputation among men - He did not take a highly exalted place among them even though He had a right to, because He chose to humble Himself.
The one position has Christ reaching down from His exalted position as part of the Godhead down to mankind in mercy to take on flesh. The other has Him as a spiritual being (in the "form" of God, not grasping for an exalted position, but taking on human flesh and being proclaimed Lord because of His obedience.
Anyone who understands the spiritual background of Westcott and Hort will also understand the important differences in the translations of the Bibles and the many variations. I have personally read the diaries of Hort and it is no exaggeration to say that he did not believe in the divine inspiration of Scripture and was an admirer of Charles Darwin. He had a personal loathing for, and vendetta against what he called the "vile King James Version".

@HolyLandSite, I entirely appreciate you may not have the time to fully address every comment and every topic that comes up on your channel. However, as the daughter of a retired pastor who uses a corrupt version, I will add that pastors who do not take up this issue do a disservice both to themselves and to those who they lead if they do not. I am not a KJVonlyist, by the way. I do not believe one can only be saved by hearing the gospel from the KJV and other nonsense. But there are serious issues with corrupt manuscripts such as the Bible version you are reading from, as there are many errors, deletions and additions. God Himself said not to add or take away from His Word, which means it is a serious matter. The two men/translators (and only two I might add), Wescott and Hort, who were of dubious character, were more interested in making money, a reputation for themselves, and a "modern version" to compete with the KJV, which had stood the test of time and was translated by 47 men who were well-versed in Greek and Hebrew, than an accurate God-glorifying translation of His Word.
Jesus did not become "nothing", as inaccurately translated in the version you read from. He did not even lay aside His deity, but was rather fully God and fully man, God clothed in flesh. Poor translations like the one you used lend credence to cults like the Jehovah's Witnesses and the Mormons and give Muslims an excuse to say that the Bible isn't true because it has changed over the years (and sadly, they are partly right, because there are many corrupt Bible versions on the market today). Christ "emptied Himself" INTO a body of flesh; He did not empty Himself OF His glory or His diety, although He usually veiled His glory from men. He did not become "nothing", but rather "took on Himself no reputation".
Another problem is the copyright issue. No man should ever be able to take out a copyright on the Word of God.
Please, sir, if you would, also take a moment to compare translations and see which versions have left belief in the Lord Jesus Christ out of the salvation of the Ethiopian eunuch and had him saved by water baptism. (www.biblegateway.com/verse/en/Acts%208:37). I do not post this link to endorse these other translations, but merely to demonstrate the great variance, and also those which leave out faith in Jesus Christ as a requirement for salvation - what confusion we have brought upon ourselves! And it saddens me that Wycliffe and other Bible translators have now followed in the footsteps of Westcott and Hort and used the same corrupt manuscripts and W & H's own corrupt translation works as the basis for their newer foreign translations. We have done a great disservice to our King of Kings!
I understand you are a busy man, and I truly appreciate your ministry and will continue to enjoy these insightful videos, but it just hurts me to see a mishandling of the precious Words of Life by someone who reaches as many as you do. I pray you take the time to seriously ponder the words I have written and look in to this matter. Thank you for your time!
