Story 6, I hope that the wedding couple were told afterwards what the Bride's mother had attempted, they deserve to know that she's capable of planning things like this.
I found out recently that my distant niece got married about 6 months ago. Found out on facebook. I was thrilled, the pictures were lovely and she looked beautiful. I sent them a card to say congrats.
We had a small wedding by Southern standards -- about 250 invited, and 150 (including +1s) attended, which was about what we expected. Some of my parents' friends from places we'd lived through the years as well as some more distant cousins weren't invited. When they heard about the wedding, however, they wrote (this was 30 years ago) and called my parents to say, "We understand the guest limits. All we want to do is offer our best wishes, and find out where to send a gift! Are they registered anywhere?" Now, _this,_ ladies, gentlemen, and non-binaries, is graciousness and generosity above and beyond any expectations we had. Our 30th anniversary was Nov. 26, and I love my husband more than ever. I'm also grateful our family made so many wonderful friends in our moves.
With the mil that showed up with the pallet of cacti, that's when you send your groom a text that his mom is nuts, has a pallet of cacti and could you tell her to get rid of it before she has one shoved where the sun don't shine. Who TF does that? Just shows up with all that without asking or giving a heads up? Someone who wants to sabotage or needs a mental health check. Neither of which you need stressing you out on your wedding day.
There really should be a service that can be hired for weddings or other important events where those who don't have a friend or two who are extremely outspoken and aren't afraid to get up in unpleasant people's faces who try to ruin the event. A rent a B service. With plenty of those who are masters of bitch fu. 😂

You weren't invited?
What is wrong with people not learning how to say “NO!”.

1st story, the mothers made it about themselves and used the wedding to show off. When the parents start inviting a lot of people, it's to show off
In some of these stories there would be less problems if certain people were just excluded from attending.
