Cate Balnchett's Hela might be one of the most enjoyable villains in MCU...you can tell her she is having the most fun while playing this villain...i loved seeing her in this role
Cate was smoking hot in this. Man, best looking villain eveer.
Best female villain in the MCU so far
Cate Blanchett steals the show for me in this movie she's hamming it up clearly enjoying herself and its great she's so good 😅 Jeff Goldblum is also really good 🙂
She’s hot n badass and i wish they didn’t kill her after one appearance like they did Pietro
She's the best thing in the movie for me, because I didn't like this movie at all.
I watched this for Evil Galadriel. 😍 lol i ended up loving the whole movie
"...over all others..." She said that in the same tone as she said it in the intro for Fellowship. I nerded out satisfactorily. 😆
@@rivervixens06 I'm not sure Hela is dead...
@@mizrolist Naa she's dead you can see her get obliterated by Surtur's sword when he stabs the ground
4:25 I can't believe that so few people noticed Matt Damon as "fake" Loki in the "play". Sam Neill as "fake" Odin and Luke Hemsworth as "fake" Thor.
Most reactors aren't movie buffs so don't know actors very well
@@Diegesis Yes, I get that. I ment in general - not you specifically. They tried a lot more humor in this one... I hope they keep that up in Thor 4.
But its Matt Damon.
He's pretty recognizable.
If you've seen Matt Damon films.
Matt damon also is in deadpool 2🤣
Funny you mentioning Lord of the Rings considering you had Galadriel (Kate Blanchett) as Hela and Eomer (Karl Urban) as Skurge/The Executioner in this movie.
The Grandmaster is the brother of The Collector. They are part of a group called The Elders Of The Universe. I like how Marvel selected odd, awkward, kooky actors to portray them. If they ever introduced more, I hope they hire other strange actors like Crispin Glover, Aubrey Plaza, Gary Busey and Nicholas Cage lol.
I believe they're also the only surviving race from before the creation of humans, eternals, and deviants so they're incredibly old/immortal.
Probably the gayest sentence ever and Nic Cage would be the WORST choice of actor. Actually that would be Gary Busey on reflection. Jeeeez.
@@TheRedPeril you must be fun at parties
@@WheresWaldo05 it seems like something they did on purpose and also comics and the movies have similarities you act like there as separate at DC is to marvel
@@TheRedPeril like the whole point is picking actors who act cookey and Nic Cage is a good actor he just doesn't care how good the script is for said movies so just does whatever for the money which he is in his right too
This and the Avengers movies that follow are the high water mark for the MCU - this one is a lighter, genuinely funny palate cleanse before the emotion and turmoil in Infinity War and EndGame.
(And Immigrant Sing bookending this is so satisfying, never gets old).
The 'Get help' line was improv. Hemsworth said it and Hiddleston stayed in character and went with it.
In Norse Mythology Hela was one of Loki's children, along with the Fenris wolf, Jormangandr, the Midgard serpent, and Sleipnir, Odin's eight legged horse. I recall that during Ragnarok Fenris kills Odin. Jormangandr and Thor kill each other
Sleipnir too?
@@CaseytifyIf I remember correctly, Loki transformed himself into a mare and is actually the mother of Sleipnir.
Someone forgot the post credits scene from Thor the Dark World.
7:24 Didn't laugh at my favourite joke in the MCU. Did nobody tell you this was a comedy before watching?
I probably use "I have been falling for 30 minutes" at least once a week in my daily life.
This movie was the best theatre experience. The whole cinema couldn't stop laughing.
The MCU's funniest movie and out of all the reactions I've seen to this movie, probably the least laughs.
They made a sideways reference to that in Spider-Man: No Way Home.
@@Caseytify what?? When?
"He's so dramatic."
Actually, the cape is dramatic- like most capes.
cloak* lmao
The most humdrum reaction to Jeff Goldblum I've ever seen. Lol he's a legend.
Taika Waititi the director, voices Korg. Korg's physical design is based on the alien invaders of Earth featured in the first Thor story in Marvel comics.
Actually in the comics Hela is Loki’s Daughter.
Also in, you know, mythology. She is the daughter of Loki and the sister fo Fenris and Jormungandr the midgard serpent
@@spyling800 And Ragnarok came about by the death of Baldur the Brave. :D
when Hela fights the Asguardian army, there was one soldier who managed to get a hit on her. props to that dude in particular
The Grandmaster won. He always wins. Its always his game.
"I Just Gotta Say, I'm Proud Of You All. This Revolution Has Been A Huge Success. Yay Us!"
He didn't win! "It's a tie." 😝
The funniest part of this movie is that Loki left the allfather Odin at a old mans home LMFAO. And to think that destroyed hammer now somehow ended up in the hands of Thors old flame. I'm dying to know how that happened.
And as the voice of Surtur... Eugene Krabs (Clancy Brown)
"That dog is freaking me out." Oh, imagine if you knew the stories!
This was definitely one of my favorite Marvel movies. Some parts are really funny.
yea
45:55 Get you someone who looks at you like Loki looks at the Tesseract.
So excited for this one! 😊
This is my favorite of the "Thor" movies thus far. The trailer for the 4th one "Thor: Love and Thunder" looks fantastic!
I'll always love how, if Maple remembers from when Hulk smashed Loki at the end of the first Avengers movie, Hulk smashes Thor in the same pattern as he did with Loki. I remember when I first saw this movie I was wanting for Hulk to call Thor a "puny god" like he did with Loki. But I love Loki's "YES! THAT'S HOW IT FEELS!".
Jeff Goldblum is great as the Grandmaster. And Tess Thompson is also a fantastic addition to the cast.
Thor and Loki's "get help" scene is one of my favorite scenes of this movie.
Phase 3 is starting to wind down. Next up: "Black Panther".
Looking forward to your next reaction. 😊
17:29 easter egg ( thanos gauntlet )
MAPLE you are the best, love your reactions ❤️
Yeah! Maple reaction
Mjlonir was hela’s first from the mural photo and Thor got it after, that’s why she was able to destroy it because she understands the hammer better
ah yes, the god of sparks
One of the best Marvel films - and Chris Hemsworth at his comedy best!
Your reaction to Hela was hilarious - totally crushing on her😄😄
Jeff Goldblum.........Such a treasure AHAHA
Stan Lee must have been a heckuva hairdresser. He took perfection and made it better.
Hela is actually loki 's daughter , in everything but the MCU , Even in mythology She's the ruler of the realm of the dead basically when anybody ever and all as guardians die and humans die they go there.. Look into comics and cartoons she's a pretty cool character
16:15 believe me, i have read at least 56 different theories about this scene, and you dont want to know what 55 of them are
How dare you skip Korg's puns!
I woulda kept em but maple didn't have big reactions to em
@@Diegesis ahhh damn!
Maple is too damn cute... "Mister Doctor Straaaange!" XD
She knows what a kidney punch is?! WIFE MATERIAL!
I LOOK FORWARD TO YOUR REACTIONS SO MUCHHHH
Love how they incorporate the Nordic Pantheon (my peoples pantheon) in Marvel :)
Just 1 small correction...
Hela and the Fenriswolf (and Jormungand - which is not in this movie) were NOT the children of Odin but the children of Loki... so when they are fighting Hela and the Fenriswolf they are fighting Lokis daughter and son (and Thors Neice and Nephew) hehe
But other than that... great movie :D
Marvel Comics took a lot of liberties with Norse Mythology, but the comics did stick with Hela, Fenriswolf, and Jormungand being the children of Loki.
As for the Disney MCU - they took even more liberties with both Norse Mythology and Marvel Comic Lore. And not in a good way. The Marvel MCU story telling spirit has been slowly changing to Disney Groupthink MCU story telling.
Maple is gorgeous
40:00 said every older sibling when younger siblings get in the front seat of a car.
Ohh man Infinity War is near. In the end we can see Loki looking at the Tesseract, he definitely has taken it. Keep that in your mind somewhere.
You are so funny, Maple!
NGL, I'm new here and I thought you said "Diet Jesus" as your name and had to scroll down.
in comics hela is actually loki daughter not odins
mr.dr.strange MUAHAHHAHAHAHAHA
Ragnarok was the best Thor movie because it was the first one that used Chris Hemsworth's sense of humor. The guy is actually really funny
(DEZ) Bryant and (TROY) Aikman
Lady sif apparently survived but the Warrirs three not so much.
mew mew!!
LOL Loki’s face at 21:25😂gets me every time. So I’m ASSUMING you’re doing Infinity War and Endgame after this……
Not yet. It's Black Panther first, then Infinity War...
Another great reaction video from a beautiful woman
"Oh, no. Scooby snacks!!!" 🤣🐶🦴
This reaction was funny to me for some reason think it was also the movie lol
lol most of this is her simping for hela
This might be a dumb question , but can someone explain to me how thor still shocks when he is the god of thunder?
Lighting shocks?
@@IndependentConversations I guess Electrocute or electrocution would have been a beter choice of word
“ safe passage through the anus…” And so Mr. Lemmy Winks began his journey…
That's cate blanchett
It's Heindel played by Idris Alba
The Giant wolf his name is fenrir
Karl Urban was so awesome in this movie
Actually, it is Loki who is the father of Hela
When you have Idris Elba on your cast and you only realize it in the third movie, your team really screwed the pooch in the first two...
so a net with electricity can capture. they weakened him too much
she bad 😍
also, electricity on the god of thunder? really? they could not come up with another system?
Cant wait for infinity war.
What is wrong with not laughing you ass off? Not everyone is like that, some are more calm reactors to humor. And it is not like Thor Ragnarok is the pinnacle of comedy either. It's a fun movie. That's it.
norse mythology
Este filme é muito legal.
I like mr dr strange
thor couldt have blocked the punch or ducked
I don't want Diet Jesus, I want normal Jesus!
Do you ever laugh for real….like ever?
No
@@MapleDivine Glad we’re on the same page.
Goth Cate Blanchette tho. 😅
I’m surprised how little she’s laughing, I thought the movie was hilarious from start to finish
Maybe because the humor was a little overbearing at times & not enough pacing through the film.
@@brianvalencia7717 i always tought it was cheap and childish humor so did my wife she tought it was meh at best
It’s really not that funny
Well, _I_ liked it. ;)
@@Caseytify and it's quite alright friend glad you liked it ! 👍
That Valkyrie vs Hela shot still blows my mind. Need to get a full wall frame of that scene.
For real man
Loki’s face when Odin says “I love you my sons” always gets me
My fav is , Your Savior Is Here
Cause he knew Odin meant it
my fav is "I am your rekoning" because it just sounds so good and badass when Ragnarok was reborn at the end.
Weird just how many comedy beats you didn’t laugh at. So many. Just not your style of comedy?
missed matt damon...can´t believe it
My favorite line in the movie was, "We know each other! He's a friend from work!"
Thats kinda weird, so many fun quotes and you choose that one? Okay...
the funny thing it was suggested by a kid at the set
@@frenchynoob well that quote was improvised by a make a wish kid who wanted that line to be in the movie
@@frenchynoob It's a really funny line! Just the fact that he is able to accurately describe the Incredible Hulk as 'a friend from work'.
That's one of my top favorites, too. 🤣
Feel like that was one of the weirder reactions to this movie Ive seen. Was confusion to the humor. Expectation. Bet Maple will def like it more on a rewatch
I really like this movie but the humor did throw me off a little because Thor has been so serious in all other movies until this one. I was just digesting the new tone they gave Thor.
@@MapleDivine Yeah sorry. Just getting into the discussion...and you loved it! Lol great
Let's not forget that Maple comes into the movie without watching any promos, trailers, or any context at all. Her reaction is the purest emotions you'll get.
@@jayanthkumar7964 Yup, wasnt trying to hate, Maples great. Movie was a bit of a swerve lol
the Humor is 100% New Zealand Humor.. You either get it or you don't I guess. The director Taika Waititi really made it in his own way and gives Thor a new purpose and gives the character more life! Much more relatable than some pomp God.
Still one of my favorite marvel movies to date. Love the humor, action, and everyone involved in it. Actors and actresses seemed to have a lot of fun while making it
Also feel it is my favorite. Went to the cinema with my dad and he loved it. Not often I have heard him laugh and be as excited during a movie.
Man I love this movie. Loki’s reaction to Hulk was priceless. It’s funny how Bruce was just as uneased by Loki as Loki was of the Hulk.
Also Mark and Chris’ chemistry was out the roof with this movie. 😄
The opening is pretty badass! Love how Thor uses Mjolnir to fight off the demons, while the background music has Led Zeppelin Immigrant Song!
Wow....she hardly laughs at any jokes in any movies she watch.
Fr the reactions be so weird
”oh my God. The hammer pulled you off”. Most underrated joke in this movie 🤣🤣😂
Is that a guitar joke?
In the 'play', Thor was played by Chris Helmworth's brother and Loki was played by Matt Damon.
I found it interesting that Hela is Thor's sister...but she looks a lot like Loki.
As for the "we know each other....he's a friend from work" line, that was suggested by a fan and the director decided to put it in the film. Very cool.
In the original mythology, Hela was the daughter of Loki, who also fathered Fenris and the World Serpent.
And Odin is played by Sam Neil
We don't care
Excellent film The humour has to be the best in a Marvel film the one thing I don't get how can Thor be electrocuted by that device when he produces lightning from his body😳
It's adapted from the Planet Hulk comics and was used to capture powerful beings such as the Silver Surfer.
I just assumed it wasn't actually electrical, but rather some high-tech, future-sci-fi device that disables the nervous system or something.
I believe Kyle Hill did a video on this some electric eels are the same way they can handle high voltage but lower voltage shocks will still stun them we can infer the same is true for Thor
@@bigdream_dreambig same
Maples face the first few moments Cate Blanchette is on screen is me realizing I'm bisexual the first time seeing Michelle Pfeiffer in Batman Returns when I was 15 lol.
Haha
0:12 every time my brain hears :"Diet Jesus "
why has this channel so many followers? Almost every joke went over her head xD
You guys cut her some slack. Humor is supposed to be subjective.
SPOILER ALERT
Thor Beat Surtur But He Cant Beat Hela
Surtur Can Destroy Hela But He Lost To Thor .
That Makes No Sense .
I love that the auto-generated captions think Maple is saying "diet Jesus."
I just came across this channel today find it genuinely entertaining never thought watching someone's reaction to movies would be lol. First one was the Matrix now this. I am curious what Diegesis mean or come from
A story or narrative especially in relationship to a film
Your seriousness is annoying, like you must be really bad at parties
Good point about ammo capacity. The magazine in each M-16 looked like a 20 rounder.
rule of cool
Magic ammo; it's Asgard. ;)
I've read elsewhere that there were two Dallas football players actually called Des and Troy.
In the scene Walt Simonson originally scripted in the comic (nothing to do with Ragnarok) the issue of ammo was addressed. Skurge was around for a long time in the Thor comic. He was the sidekick to The Enchantress, who was not nearly the evil psycho Hela played here. Come to that, Hela in the comic wasn't an evil psycho. {shrug} The MCU changes things from the comics. This is my surprised face.
@@Caseytify Yes, the MCU made Skurge a harmless goof, although his redemption at the end was interesting. It ignored Amora and Balder, and threw away the warriors three.
You have bad humor! Lol
Gonna be fun! Your joyful reactions and Taika's playful storytelling. As usual, I'm excited. See you there! :)
Hulk saying please is rare
How do almost no reactors realize that's Thanos at the end? It was obvious in the theater, like who else would it be, what movie is coming up soon? Fascinating.
Most reactors don’t know who thanos is
She hasn't watched trailers and doesn't even know the movie order
How is it that anyone in an interplanetary movie can steal any ship and get across the galaxy but I spend 20 minutes looking for the windshield wipers in a rental car?
I love how confused you were with humor in this. Complete 180 in tone for Thor (witch Chris highly appreciated he was ready to give up the role). I very very much suggest to add What we do in the shadows(!) or Jojo rabbit as movie to watch. Same director as this, Taika has his own style and I love it so much
Okay Maple 🍁...... After *Black Panther* 💜🖤💜 be sure to bring a roll of tissue because *infinity war* is that type of movie
im BIG FAN BY CRISH HEMSWORTH im so many watching he's movies overall he's my childhood hero and what is your name SISTER 🤔.im aslo guitarist and vocalist...or i have another art im tattoo artist..ok im not lying my GOD PROMISE..
