    Congrats!!! As a undergrad social work student, I always watch your videos for advise n tips on undergrad bsw programs. I'm happy for your success in completing your msw, especially it being compounded into a year timeframe. I can only imagine the stress. Yes, this is awesome. You stated great points here. Good awareness video! I have a BSW, and MSW. I considered advanced standing, but glad I didn’t because I wanted the two internship experience that the full time program offered. Lucky you, we had tests in my program. They were all online tho! Lots of research papers too! Great video! Can’t wait to see more!

      I totally see that! I should have mentioned the pro's of doing the 2-year program because I tell people all the time it gets you that extra year of internship experience and learning!

    Hi, I just got my BSW degree this month. And I will be a advanced standing student when I start the MSW program this fall. I saw the classes that you mentioned in the video there similar to mine. I really liked how you gave information on what to expect during the program. I can’t to watch more videos.
    Thank you for sharing you’re MSW experience.

    Love your video !!! I was accepted to an advanced standing program with university of Kentucky this fall 22. Im excited ! I like that you said there is more than just “taking kids away” I want to go into the medical field as I have experience there already :) i didnt have tests either in my BSW , and you mention that for MSW , what classes did you take ? What did you find doing paper on and did you feel like you had enough time ?

    • @JaclynMSW

      Thank you for watching! Congratulations on your acceptance! that is so exciting :)
      I believe I went into some of the class details in the video but a lot of programs have similar courses in America. I feel like I had a good amount of time for papers but it definitely depends on everyone's lifestyle and work outside of school. Most of my professors allowed for extensions depending on situations and I found my program to be really great at helping students out like that.
      best of luck to you in your journey!!

    This was super useful! Im graduating with my BSW in may of 2021, so right now I am in the process of looking into what MSW programs I am going to apply to. It was good to hear your experience with advanced standing, ive been debating whether or not thats what I want to do.

    I love your videos ! So informative and clear! What was your longest paper you’ve had to do while in Grad school?

    • @JaclynMSW
      @JaclynMSW  4 роки тому +2

      thank you! I appreciate that :) I think my longest papers come from my clinical social work classes. They are assigned at 12 written pages but then there's an extra 3 for writing a separate assessment and treatment plan, and then extra pages for references and appendix pages so it ends up coming out to a little more than that.

    Great video very informative !
    How was the process to writing your thesis ? What would you say was the hardest thing about it?
    Any advice for writing the thesis?
    I am starting the asp this summer ! I am very excited but very scared as well😰😰

    • @JaclynMSW
      @JaclynMSW  3 роки тому

      Hello! So I wrote a personal statement letter to go with my application which I believe may be a little different from a thesis. When I wrote my personal statement I really worked hard and took my time to answer everything. Maybe the hard thing was just putting all my thoughts into words and then making them make sense. My advice for writing any paper is to make sure you are following all the guidelines that the assignment is looking for, down to font size. Proofreading a few times can be helpful as well. I hope this helps and good luck with everything!

    Did you ever consider counseling versus social work? I’ve been accepted to both types of programs for the fall, and I’m just curious why you choose to stay in a social work program for clinical work rather than another mental health degree (counseling, LMFT, etc.)? Great video, congrats on finishing up your degree 😄

    • @JaclynMSW
      @JaclynMSW  4 роки тому +5

      Annaliese Scheer thank you! I personally chose clinical social work because I felt there are more options for me and more paths / opportunities to take than just mental health. I have a couple interests right now, I’ve done different internships so I know I can do counseling type work but also could have the leeway in other settings 😊 I hope that makes sense!
