  • On this solo camping trip by a river, I challenged myself to some Backwoodsman cooking. Cooked chicken and rice in bamboo over a fire - a local delicacy called Ayam Pansuh.

You know it’s awesome pansuh when the kitties fight over it & get their heads stuck in it! 😂 This is one of my favourite piece of your work Jun, as a Sarawakian myself, watching your 10-star meal prep somehow made me realise how taken for granted my many pansuh meals have been.. Food tastes best when you pour your heart and soul into it. ❤

Wow you gave me 10 stars! Thanks for your lovely words. It was definitely a tiring cooking process but the end result made it all worth it :)

That was good… and different! I bet your satisfaction levels were through the roof after that meal. I think the accident with the slow-mo worked well. The music and voice over sounded good, in fact when you went back to normal the sounds of the forest drowned you out.
Full marks as well for using that parang safely. I have used edged tools all my life, I’m 62, and I still have to remind myself to think before I take a stroke with axe or knife…but please stop cutting into the ground! That poor parang! 😂😂😂 I think you will soon become a bushcrafter! 🎉 look forward to the next one!

Was quite a challenge honestly but the end result was totally worth it. Gained new skills and confidence! Thanks for the tip on the parang. I still have lots to learn and improve!

No worries. Family will always have their concerns. Perhaps can go to a paid campsite which is gated and guarded, with other campers around? Safety is almost guaranteed :)
