We urge legislatures like Rep Spanberger to keep after the Prez to sign this bill. He has been a little forgetful lately...

Doesn't matter about forgetting. He has secretary, executive assistants, lots of people organizing his daily activities. It will get taken care of at the right time.

From what I understand when the bill was sent to his desk he had already left to Delaware for the holiday.. Because he had left a day early then planned and then from there he flew to saint croix, he has not been back in washington.

Thank- you Rep. Spanberger for your hard work on this ! The law was unjust and penalized far too many people. You righted a terrible wrong.
Now let’s get some much needed help to so many that are just squeezing by on the feeble benefits they receive.
If we can send so many billions to other countries, we can sure find some needed funds to help to those in need.

According to congress.gov bill tracker, HR-82 has not been sent to Biden yet. Don't know what the holdup is, usually only takes a day or two. Christmas holiday? And now the Prez is "on vacation" so maybe next week? Wish they'd hurry up, this is important to a lot of people.

You're right. It's definitely important to me. There's been no apparent comment from the White House regarding this bill. And from the date of senate passage, there's a 10-day presidential signature limit on this, and unless he remotely signs HR 82 from St. Croix (he's celebrating New Years there), I don't see how this bill survives ......

I've heard he has until Dec 31 to sign, but I've also heard he has 10 days, not including Sundays, from when it is sent to him. There is no indication I can find that it actually has been sent to the WH. It needs to be prepared and printed on parchment and also needs a couple signatures from congress leaders before being sent. There is also no reason I can find that he couldn't sign it in St Croix. The silence on such an important bill from the White House is disturbing.

It had to be read into Congressional Record which was 12-24 and printed on parchment and signed by heads of House and Senate. Will be walked over to Oval Office and since Wash is essentially closed down from Christmas to New Years will probably hit his desk Jan 2. Heard he intends to sign Jan 3 probably with a nice photo op with the sponsors all there.

New From Rep Graves: Congressman Garret Graves:
🚨 "HR 82 #SocialSecurityFairnessAct signed by Senate President Pro Temp (a formality). Next stop: a pen, a desk, and history..."
This should mean it will move on to Biden soon. Will he wait until he gets back to US? Who knows...

There's nothing in it for Bunker Joe for his family to make money.

This H.R. 82 and the Companion Bill S-597 will likely not be signed because it shortens the projected insolvency of the SSA Trust Fund from 10 Years to 9 and 1/2 Years. Also with the Christmas and New Years Holidays many of the House and Senate staffs are out of their offices. The only potential help would be pressure brought to bear on the White House by the various public interest groups such as NARFE, NALC, AARP, National Union Groups, and State Organizations, and Union Organizations.

It's a mystery why they are sitting on this passed bill and there has been no commentary from Uncle Joe. All Congress Dems (I think) and a lot of Repubs voted for this. It's a good bill. For 40 years many public service people and their families have received less than half of the SS THEY PAID INTO (NOT a givaway!) and even surviving spouses got very little to NO survivor's SS to help with mortgage, etc. . Heck, even a stay home spouse gets full survivor's even tho they didn't pay a dime into SS.
You'd think "Easy Money Joe" would be all for this.

Reports are that the president will be spending New Year's Holiday in St Croix. Not sure it is 100% true, but I've seen from gvmnt sources that Biden has until Dec 31 to sign this bill. Why he didn't sign this bill along with the 50+ he signed this week I don't know. A lot of them were very important, like campus hazing, etc. (eye roll). Come on Joe, don't let us down.

If it was a bill to give Ukraine more money it would've been signed already. 😮

    • @HilltopZombieShop
      @HilltopZombieShop 19 днів тому

The critics liked to cry that it will cost $195 billion over the next 10 years. We gave Ukraine and defense companies $175 billion in the last two years. Endless corruption.
