i spent many a day in the in that tower when i was a kid back in the 70's. my dad had a long time friend who worked the switching lever's and let me do it a few time's. i love what they did to it i figured it was borded up and left to rot. thank you for this video it brought back many memories of my dad,i must make a trip to see it with my own eye's.
I was looking for you. When you were in waldwick/Ramsey I was in Secaucus. We have to rail together soon. I didn't see 4502 deadhead back on X116 I had to get home. I took the last 3900 train to Trenton. Great catch of SU99 I've been wanting to get that train for the longest but I never know when it runs. I hope you had a great Christmas and Amazing Video!
I commuted from Suffern to NYC throughout the 1980s, including taking the NJT train from Suffern, later Ramsey, to Hoboken and then PATH to Manhattan. Different equipment back then. I switched to Ramsey because they had a free commuter lot and it wasn't too far from where I lived in Suffern.
happy holidays! i’m still on the palmetto heading down to georgia for the next week. been on it since new jersey. lots of passing trains including 2 NB silver meteors 😂 (one departed today and one departed yesterday)
It's interesting that those GP40PH locomotives we're originally built for New Jersey Central in the '60s to replace their aging fleet of Fairbanks Morris train master locomotives and the Baldwin double cab baby face locomotives correct me if I said the name of the locomotive wrong
@@3985uprr Oh you were all over , well I spent my four years in N Carolina, Seymour Johnson AFB and a few months in Kunsan AB in S Korea. Sometimes i wish I should have stayed. I cqn't help wondering how you keep trackk of all the locos even b efore they come iinto view. The scenes of Bear Mtr..bring back memories of the Hudson River trips we took in the late fifties. I enjoy listening to your accent, too, that tri-state area sound I use to have when I lived in NYC. Four years in N.C. took care of that.. keep up the good work
I vaguely remember when the main line had 4 tracks. Tore it up in the mid 80's I think
Middle tracks used by freights
I love how NJ transit has a nice diverse fleet of locos

I want so badly for Christmas 2021 to be better than Christmas 2020!!!!!! So far it is by a country mile
@@3985uprr Yeah. I agree. I'm glad it is for you as well. Happy Holidays.
The town of Ramsey always feels cozy. I think it's one of the best downtowns of northern NJ.
some awesome catches you got there. I was train spotting in bound brook this eve.
Lovely shot at 11.30 with the tower and signals against sunset. Nice work!
Happy Holidays Tim!! Thank you for your nice video.
Great vid Tim and Dean!
Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays! Glad to have discovered your channel this year! That’s great to see those young guys out there railfanning, too!
17:08 Great catch! All EMD locomotives.
I could never get that when it was supposed to run. Oddly I got it on a day when it’s not scheduled to run.
Excellent Video and catches as always!!! Merry Christmas to you and your family!!!

I was on the SB Silver Star last month. I hope you enjoy your ride!
Didn't know there was anything still running around with the old CNJ insignia/livery
I’m a train buff myself. I have a bunch of train clips from Thailand. Maybe I should post them on UA-cam. But how do I get people to view them?
if you ever get a chance, come down to Folkston Georgia I live in Tampa

At 6:25 is that engine a GE? I've always been curious about that engine. It looks similar to a P32.
Alstom PL42
@@3985uprr Thanks. I looked it up. Found that Alstom and EMD made it. Looks so much like GE's P32s
@@ariesarethebest271 i believe they were designed by the same guy actually but don’t quote me on that
as an ex New Yorker and Air Force veteran I have to ask you where and when did you serve. Really like your channel.
Williams AFB in Arizona. In the ANG I was at McGuire AFB AND Roslyn ANG Station.

I think that the name of the paddle wheelerr that went up the Hudson was the "Peter Stuyvesant" if memory serves me.
My old stomping grounds.
