...listen to: Phantom of the Opera when Tarja sings IT!!!!!!! Then you can See,feel and hear the difference to Floor 's Style...🤘 I prefer Tarja 's Interpretation of this Song!!!!!! But both are amazing singers❤ Love your authentic reactions!!!!!!! Go on!!!!🤘🤘😘
Besides Wacken, my favorite live performance would have to be The Greatest Show on Earth in Tampere, 2015. Seeing that made me determined to see them live one day (and last summer I finally did :)
Same here.I've seen them live twice after the pandemic. Before that, I saw them on a lot festivals, but unfortunately at that time I was very young and just up for the extreme metal. In 2009 I was actually working in Spain and invited a couple of local friends to come with me to see Nightwish at Tampere. Well... Anette (for our opinion) blew it up in a no time and we all left the festival area before the halftime of the concert. I just wish I had concentrated more when Tarja was still there. Anyway, now we have Floor and she is the goddess in flesh😊
There song "Ghost River" from the same show Wacken 2013 is heavy and showcases more of Marco singing with Floor . A song from there 2015 Wembley show "7 Days to the Wolves" should show you something different from them
1. FLOOR 2. Marko 3. Tarja 4. Annette Favorite song is Story Time but every song makes me perfectly happy. 😊 My favorite band ever! What ever song or concert you react to next will not disappoint 😊
Great rreaction. It's nice to see how enthousiastic you are about a band we love. The reason I love Nightwish is because how diverse their music is. It's not the same thing over and over, it's different pace, different feel, different agression, different everything. For me Floor is the best singer cause she is the only one who can keep up with all the different styles. 🖤🤘🏼
Floor is the best all around for her mix of skills and her charisma. Tarja was more operatic but less rocker and certainly a personality. As the founding singer she deserves extra credit too for helping establish the band and genre. After she was kicked out, Anette was recruited. She was more pop music and lacked IMO the voice skills of Tarja or Floor but was great for helping develop some great material with more widespread appeal, like Storytime. Then Floor of course is Floor, she's the full package, got it all.
I only discovered them about this time last year. And I didn't find Floor Jansen via Nightwish. I found Nightwish via Floor Jansen. I just happened to notice the UA-cam video of the Amsterdam concert with the note on it about supporting Floor Jansen through her health battle, and thought I'd give it a look. Hooked instantly and from there went on to find Nightwish. They've both leapt to the top of my list of favourite musicians and I've been listening to them almost non-stop ever since.
Asking for best singer opens a can of worms. Many will cop out by saying Marko, who is a great singer but not considered by Tuomas to be the only singer. Tarja Turunen is loved by mainly early fans for being there at the start and steering him away from folk music. First five albums written for her operatic vocal style. She was sacked in 2005 as she started to act as if Nightwish were her backing band encouraged by her husband. Tuomas then chose Anette who sang in a ABBA cover band and she sang on an already written album with a very different vocal style plus another album written as music for a Nightwish film called Imaginaerum which was a huge commercial success. Sadly she was unable to sing many of Tarja's songs and even struggled with many written for her when live. She was replaced mid tour by Floor who learned the setlist in 48 hours travelling from The Netherlands to the USA. She is the only one able to sing every song in the Nightwish catalogue live. And with Marko's departure she even sings some of his parts !! So as an actual singer and frontwoman there is no contest. It's Floor. By the way almost every concert suggested will feature Floor which should answer your other question. LOL.
The first singer was Tarja. She sang mainly in an operatic style which was ok for some numbers but was a bit limiting in my opinion. The second was Annette who had more of a pop type voice. Although a good singer she was a square peg in a round hole. And then there’s Floor. She can sing anything the others could sing and more. Because of Floor’s charisma and stagecraft as well as her obvious vocal talents Floor will always be my favourite. As for other concerts. Hellfest 2022 is a banger!
Keep going Mert! Any song from Wacken 2013 is the Platinum Standard now. Then you go to Nightwish deluxe with Greatest Show on Earth, The Poet and the Pendulum, Endlessness and Shoemaker. then ANYTHING WITH FLOOR SINGING! Have fun and follow Gabriel. Nightwish Army Vancouver, BC Canadian Division present.
Hi there great reaction again For me personally... Nightwish and Tarja started this great journey and I think neither would have succeeded without each other... Tarja most operatical, Anette more "poppis voice" and then Floor... Hmm, let me think a sec... I like them all, and one should never compare..! But, again imho, Floor is my personal goddess because of her range and versatility.. But also each era of Nightwish has its place in time... Greetings from Sweden
Newer show Buenos Aires live: "Devil and Deep Dark Ocean" and "I Want My Tears Back" Those you have something to react ... . You do good job there. Greetings from Finland.
Welcome to the Nightwish army (Dutch division)! Wishing you a great journey down the rabbit hole from Nightwish! When you're ready for it see...yours is an empty hope and the poet and the pendulum (but first read the background information and see the Wembley version).
Aaaahh, Nightwish. Not so much a rabbit hole, more an entire subterranean cavern system. Surprises round every corner, over and over again. Personal favourite songs are Greatest Show on Earth, Last of the Wilds, Last Ride of the Day, and a long instrumental piece called All the Works of Nature that Adorn the Earth.
They are all amazing. Floor is best live and Anette is great in studio. Tarja is Tarja. She is, where this all started. I’m a fan of Tuomas. He is the best composer that I have ever known.
Vah-kun. And Tar-ee-yuh. Tarja operatic style, Anette more poppy and a slightly weaker voice but still excellent for a number of songs. Floor can do all that and much more and in BA which was a 29th anniversary tour, Floor reinterpreted many old songs to great effect, bringing them to a new higher level. Best of all IMO, is Buenos Aires 2018. Wembley and Tampere 2015 are both excellent. Between them BA and Wembley 2015 provide 4 of my top 5 performances. Try 7 Days to the Wolves from Wembley and Devil and the Deep Dark Ocean from Buenos Aires. Both have some great Marco parts too.
One of my favorites! As far as the previous singers( in my opinion) # 1 was Tarja- full out opera- beautiful voice, great singer, but a little too much for me. # 2- Anette- much more of a pop sound, not really my cup of tea, but did some nice work. #3- Floor- my favorite by far. She is magical.
Right, Anette wasn't really a great fit for NW. However Tuomas did a fantastic job when he was writing songs with / for her. It was a quite different Nightwish but actually worked pretty well. With Floor we're much closer to the original NW, but it's still very different. Tarja was simply the signature voice which made Nightwish famous. Though Floor is a great continuation.
favourite singer is Floor, but she did have the advantage of joining the band at the peak of her powers! She has the more commercial voice, (not knocking her voice) for most people she is going to be the one they will pick as their favourite. I do have a soft spot for Tarja, though as it was her vocals that got me into the band in the first place back in the 90s when I was looking for something different and well Annette has the two best Nightwish albums in her resume even if her live performances didn't live up to the album performances.
from Nightwish's most popular period the 4 concerts are: Wacken 2013, Tampere 2015, Wembley 2015 and Buenos Aries 2018. For most this was the band at it's peak for live shows. The other official concert discs are Wishes to Eternity 2000 (baby Nightwish), End of an Era 2005 Tarja's final concert (hence the title) and then the latest official would be the Evening with Nightwish Virtual concert from 2022. then there are festival feed videos but they are not official but are the only current lineup live performances.
My favourite Nightwish singer was definitely Marko, here he's singing backup but he's an amazing singer in his own right. The Islander, which he sings, is one of my favourite songs by Nightwish, it has a more folk'y sound. I definitely recommend checking The Islander (Live at Tampere) out! Endlessness is another great song he sings, but sadly there isn't a live version of it as Marko left the band before they started to tour the album it was on.
Hello, thanks for reaction! Besides Wacken 2013, the other most known shows (with professional quality sound and video recording) are Wembley 2015, Tampere 2015 and Buenos Aires 2018 The song titles on YT are sometimes confused bcse the DVDs with the concert recording was usually published during next year, so you might see "Wembley 2016" too...
One major thing that differentiates Nightwish from other bands, is the structure of the songs. They don't use typical "pre chorus-verse-chorus-bridge-chorus" type of pop-song method. They have quite complex songs with a-b-c verses, multiple bridges, tempo and time changes, and all kind of things going on. That's why it doesn't get repetitive and boring - but instead, their songs just builds up and up towards new heights.
Yes man, another nice Natewish reaction ;) As tt vocalists, there's something for everyone I guess. Anette rocked an übermetal feathered hat at a concert, clearly showing that she didn't give a rat's behind abt ppl's opinions. Tarja used to match the colour of her mic tt dress she wore on stage. Floor stands way, way above each & every metal songster and is really a once in several generations vocal master/performer. Charisma embodied on stage, humility and down to earth off stage. Vocal skills that are unmatched in versatility, subtlety and sheer power, making her the musical storyteller par excellence. Maybe someday her songwriting abilities will be used in NW as well, who knows? Cheers from Amsterdam! 🤘
While each singer brings their own style. Tarja Turunen first singer was a 100% opera vocalist check out her version of “phantom of the opera”. Anette Olzon second singer was 100% a pop singer check out her song “Scaretale”. Floor Jansen can sing anything check out her old band revamp song Disdain from grasspop.
I love the Decades Tour Buenos Aires 2018, Wembley Arena2015, Tampere Finland 2015, and Diechbrand Festival 2022. Every song is great. It is hard to choose a favorite. Me, I am a Floor Fan. However, each of the 3 vocalists are wonderful and bring different things to the show. Check them all out and you be the judge. We all have a preference, but love them all.
Nice!! This was their heavier side, absolute banger!. Although Nightwish is great live band, recommend alco check out their album versions too. Recommend example: Music(2020) album opening track, official lyric video, Noise(2020)official music video, Elan(2015), official music video or Shudder before Beautiful(2015), album opening track.
My favorite singer is Floor (not just of Nightwish). Favorite song from Wacken 2013 is "Song of Myself." Favorite song from any Nightwish concert is "The Greatest Show on Earth" at Tampere. (That's also my favorite Nightwish song in general.)
Gotta check out DEVIL & THE DEEP DARK OCEAN 2018 Buenos Aires - very dramatic Duet with Marco and Floor looks way more badass than any feeble Marvel character.🇬🇧🤘🤘
For other memorable live performances try: Wembley 2016 - 7 Days to the Wolves. However don't forget "Song of Myself from Wacken 2013" too, for many their favourite Nightwish song including me. In respect of the other singers, the Nightwish Army hold them all in high regard. In summary though, it's felt that Floor healed the wounds of the departure of both the other singers. The others were both great but for those that wait, great things did arrive.
Floor and Tarja are both fantastic, they are just different, some versions I would lean towards Floor (whole Wacken) others I love Tarja (Siren, Walking it Air) bud for me both are special
Deep hole you fell into with "Nightwish" sir. I am following right behind you. This concert in full is available on UA-cam. I have watched it with others reacting to it a 1/2 dozen times easy. Will check later today for the next one. lol
Funnily enough, of these three songs (Ghost Love Score, Storytime and Romanticide), none are originally written for Floor, but she just owns them and makes them even better. Storytime is Anette era and the other two are Tarja era songs. I have seen them live three times, all with Floor and I usually dont bother going to live concerts but for these shows I will!
'Once' is my favourite Nightwish album. In fact it's among my all time favourite albums by anyone, so yeah, Romanticide is a massive favourite. If you want to listen to an artist who is truly, truly multi-dimensional, check out a bloke by the name of Devin Townsend, if you haven't already. He may not be Finnish (he's Canadian), but he does just about every style of popular music you can think of, from extreme metal to folk, and just about everything in between...
Floor is my favourite as the most versatile singer of Nightwish. She is an awesome performer and is able to deliver a story whith her whole body, gestures, her face, eyes and of course her voice. She knows how to own the stage and she obviously loves the interaction with the audience. I knew Floor since 2004, before I ever listened to Nightwish. Tarja has a beautiful voice and sings in a classical way. Like Floor she can express a lot of emotion through her singing. Annette has a sweet innocent voice, sounds more poppy.
My second-favourite NW DVD is the Buenos Aires Decades concert, but there are other great performances too (e.g., Tampere, Wembley). If you want to explore the other singers quickly, I'd suggest two songs further down Gabriel's list: the version of _Phantom_ _of_ _the_ _Opera_ from End of an Era for Tarja & Marko, and _Slow_ _Love_ _Slow_ at Montreux Jazz Festival for Anette. Troy rarely takes the lead, I'd suggest waiting until you've been properly introduced to him as an instrumentalist! If you want to sum up the lead singers in two words each, I'd say Tarja: classical & operatic, Anette: pop & theatric, Floor: rock & versatility. Marko's more metal & versatility, Troy's more folk. While I'm a Floor & Marko fanboy, Tarja & Anette have multiple songs each which belong to them in my mind. And I do like the one song where Troy takes lead throughout!
Well I love every singer Nightwish has had, with all of the different things they do. My favourite is in this video, his name is Marko Hietala, and I recommend the music from his solo album. "Isäni ääni" gets me right in the feels, even with my super rudimentary Finnish. Hope you enjoy 👍
Hello again, Mert. Another great reaction. Loved it. As for other fantastic live shows, here are a few of them: Wembley 2015, Tampere 2015, Masters of Rock 2015, Buenos Aires, 2018, and a couple of their terrific concerts from 2022: Hellfest 2022 in France and Deichbrand Festival 2022 in Germany. Lots to pick from out there.
Over time, i've come to appreciate all the Nightwish singers, but Floor is still my favorite. If you want to check out Tarja, try something from the End of an Era DVD, and i think Anette's best live sing is "Bye Bye Beautiful" For other live shows: Tampere, Finland 2015 and Buenos Aires, Argentina 2018 are also very well recorded and popular with the reactors.
Nightwish Army south Brittany France reporting again. As we get closer to Christmas react to Floor and Marco singing Ava Maria Also listen to Epica, start with Floor as a guest singer, singing a duet with Simone Simmons, Sancta Terra.. Then we can send you down the Ayreon rabbit hole. Yes, another band with Floor (and others)
Might I suggest listening to Ave Maria by Marko and Floor? Maybe as a Christmas special? I think that and their other duets showcase their talent as singers really well.
FYI Wacken 2013 is a banger, Thus you know allready. Pls take a look at the Tampere gig 2015 . And we, or should i say NW, have more 4 u. The gig at the Wembley arena , in Buenos Aires, Mexivo City, just to list a few more besides Wacken. The NW singer saga....what can i say? Tarja..YES! Anette, just look at Amaranth and make up your mind. Floor, 🤩😍😃 And off course Marco 🎶 , not to forget Troy -the acustic version of How's the heart. Peace from Germany and pls stay save.
4 other big performances by NW (all directed and mixed by themselves) are: Tampere 2015 Wembley 2015 Buenos Aires 2018 The Islanders Arms ( a virtual live show for +100000 viewers during covid) I could not find a bad song in any of these concerts
The male singer, Marko is awesome musician. Also Nightwish was always his side project from his band Tarot ;) My favourite back and forth between Floor and Marko is Devil and the deep dark ocean. Floor is my favourite Nightwish singer. She is technically bet and i love her versitility. She rally is real and charismatic. Tarja has a special place in my heart since she is was where it all begun and i grew up with that. Annette era I didnt like, didnt listen to nightwish back then. Just didnt enjoy that kind of more pop energy.
Great reaction! I can see in your face that you are exactly in the same frame of mind that I was when I first listened to Nightwish! Believe me my Celtic brother, you’ve seen/heard nothing yet! I’m subscribing now! Don’t stop Nightwish as you have a long way to go 🏴
Since you are discovering germany as well, floor is dutch and can speak german, she was on 2 TV shows that are very interesting: the dutch show beste zangers and the german eqivalent sing my song (og sing meinen song) in which different singers sing songs of their collegies in their own style. The beste zangers songs are online and the sing meinen song videos should be available somewhere, maybe you wanna check those out if you love floor. The shows are very emotional as well and show what a beautiful human being floor is.
Tarja was the original singer that helped to shape Nightwish what it is now, symphonic metal. Tarja has more of a dark, operatic sound. Then there was Anette. Some fans really don't like her voice. She has a very different voice compared to Tarja.... and Floor. I personally liked Anette on the records. Live she sometimes struggled with the songs that were written for Tarja's more higher voice. So Anette had this more poppier sound. Then came Floor. She has a rockier sound to her.... but the way everyone always describes her is that she can do a bit of everything. I love Nightwish and to me Nightwish is Nightwish no matter the singer.
Nightwish Army south Brittany France reporting. Listen to Tarya, sleeping sun and Phantom of the opera. Annette, Bye Bye Beautiful (only Annette has song this), its about Tarya after she was fired.
Floor is definitely the most talented of the three female singers. I have a soft spot for Tarja because she was the first and was the singer when I started listening to them back in 2002, but Floor is just objectively better. Floor can sing everything that Tarja can, but I guarantee Tarja can't sing everything that Floor can. I feel bad for Annette. She's not bad, but she was far too different to Tarja at a time when the fans just wanted Tarja back. What I will say for Annette is that Nightwish made some of their best music when she was the singer...Floor just sings it better than she did.
No disrespect to Tarya and Annette...both good singers in their own style. But Floor nails every style Toumas throws at her...She's a far cry from a one trick pony like the other two... The 3 vocalist should never be compared...Floor is in a league of her own 😁❤🤘
Tarja was more operatic, Anette was more "pop", Floor is whatever she wants. But when my gf asked who do I think is or was the best singer of NW, I found myself answering "Marco"...
Рік тому
I would say that there should not be a favourite singer of Nightwish as they all contributed to the evolution of Nightwish. My personal opinion is that Floor is the one that can perform all of the eras songs in a fantastic way. Anette, the second singer did OK on most of them, but in her own style (not my cup of tea) and was not always on point live. Tarja was the voice of Nightwish as she was the original singer, and we have only heard her sing her own Nightwish song - never heard her sing any of Anette's of Floor's songs (obviously). My personal favourite is Floor, but I love Tarja's era and appreciate Anette's era.
you will be blown away by the song the greatest show on earth
Marko is a great singer. Check out their Pink Floyd cover, High Hopes (End Of An Era).
I concur
Big yes!
Oh yes please
It's not cover,it's tribute
Tarja: all opera vocals all the time.
Anette: pop-rock vocals only
Floor: all of the above plus more.
If you want hear Tarja and Marko singing: check out "Phantom of the Opera" live 2007.
Nightwish End Of An Era Konsert in Helsinki Finland.
Wacken 2013 is the ultimate standard setting seminal event, next up would be Wembley 2015
...listen to: Phantom of the Opera when Tarja sings IT!!!!!!! Then you can See,feel and hear the difference to Floor 's Style...🤘 I prefer Tarja 's Interpretation of this Song!!!!!! But both are amazing singers❤ Love your authentic reactions!!!!!!! Go on!!!!🤘🤘😘
Please react to Nightwish live at Tampere, The Greatest Show on Earth. Please guys back me up on this. :)
Next, it's the headbanger's challenge. Next should be "Song of Myself" Wacken 2013...
Nightwish at Wembley 2015
" Dead Boys Poem"
and "Devil And The Deep Dark Ocean" live Buenos Aires 2018.
"She can do some magnicifent things with her voice"
Nightwish army now waiting for the 'yours is an empty hope' reaction with a smile ...

My favorite band ever!
What ever song or concert you react to next will not disappoint 😊
No Troy?😁
@@bleaksnatcher No Tuomas? 🤷♂️
marko over tarja.... well i suppose everyone has their own tastes
I recommend watching Poet and the Pendulum. It depicts the trauma that Tarja's leaving the band caused to Tomas, the songwriter.
My favourite is the one that I'm watching/listening to at the moment. They are all great.
Great rreaction. It's nice to see how enthousiastic you are about a band we love. The reason I love Nightwish is because how diverse their music is. It's not the same thing over and over, it's different pace, different feel, different agression, different everything.

Nightwish are their own genre
As soon as you get a few more done from Wacken 2013 we can continue to Wembley. Then Tampere, Buenos Aries, Tampa, etc...
Weak Fantasy Tampere Finland 2015. When Marko and Floor sin together❤. Floor is the most talented singer. Greetings from Finland🇫🇮
Floor is the best all around for her mix of skills and her charisma. Tarja was more operatic but less rocker and certainly a personality. This song is pure adrenaline! love it so much

As for other concerts. Hellfest 2022 is a banger!
Tarja most pure operatic, Anette most pop. Floor most belting…
Define all worth of listening to!
Tuomas did songs that were tailored to each of them!
Please please react to “A shudder before the beautiful” and “7 days to the wolves” live at Wembley Arena. They are both 💥💥💥!

Great reaction, if you follow Gabriel's list he has all the different concerts with great songs you can't go wrong if you follow it😊🇬🇧
They are all amazing. Floor is best live and Anette is great in studio. Tarja is Tarja. She is, where this all started.
I’m a fan of Tuomas. He is the best composer that I have ever known.
I agree, Tuomas is the Metal Mozart, I love his Lyrics and Music compositions...Greets from eastern Netherlands
Vah-kun.

Floor Jensen is amacing, so was Tarja Turunen. Tarja was the original singer, but met his husband and moved to South America.

You and I had the same reaction to Nightwish... I have the biggest smile on my face as I relive my intro to Nightwish through your reactions... :D
1. FLOOR
2. Marko
3. Tarja
4. Annette
😀👍
You forgot Troy.
Of course also Troy.😀👍@@alantidwell7889
6. Tuomas.😊
Hello, thanks for reaction!
Besides Wacken 2013, the other most known shows (with professional quality sound and video recording) are Wembley 2015, Tampere 2015 and Buenos Aires 2018
The song titles on YT are sometimes confused bcse the DVDs with the concert recording was usually published during next year, so you might see "Wembley 2016" too...
Favorite song from Wacken 2013 is "Song of Myself."
Favorite song from any Nightwish concert is "The Greatest Show on Earth" at Tampere.
Great one. If you will do next: Everdream, you will have another side of Marco (bass player) and some more energy… yes! It’s possible… 👍‼️🏆
Hello from Sydney Australia. Enjoyed your other clips but subscribed for your Nightwish journey.
It's also the song you won't be able to compare since Floor refuses to sing that one out of respect and friendship for Tarja ...
Nightwish Army south Brittany France reporting again.
As we get closer to Christmas react to Floor and Marco singing Ava Maria
Also listen to Epica, start with Floor as a guest singer, singing a duet with Simone Simmons, Sancta Terra..
Then we can send you down the Ayreon rabbit hole. Yes, another band with Floor (and others)
Good one.
Fellow Nightwish enjoyer :D Check out Ever Dream and Dark Chest of Wonders from the same gig!
The gig at the Wembley arena , in Buenos Aires, Mexivo City,
just to list a few more besides Wacken.
The NW singer saga....what can i say?
Tarja..YES!
Anette, just look at Amaranth and make up your mind.
Floor, 🤩😍😃
And off course Marco 🎶 , not to forget Troy -the acustic version of How's the heart.
Peace from Germany and pls stay save.
4 other big performances by NW (all directed and mixed by themselves) are:
Tampere 2015
Wembley 2015
Buenos Aires 2018
The Islanders Arms ( a virtual live show for +100000 viewers during covid)
I could not find a bad song in any of these concerts
Don’t stop Nightwish as you have a long way to go 🏴
You should check out Nightwish with their first singer Tarja! For example Phantom of the Opera is a really good one (Tarja with yellow outfit and mic)
If your loving Nightwish then you should also try another Finnish band called Poets of the Fall they are also amazing!
You should try
- Wish i had an angel
- ghost river
- song of myself
All from wacken 13 too
Tarja was the original singer that helped to shape Nightwish what it is now, symphonic metal.
Floor is the n1 Queen Tarja is n2 Queen but Anette was disco prinsess
Tuomas Holopainen songwriter, composer.
Nightwish Army south Brittany France reporting.
Listen to Tarya, sleeping sun and Phantom of the opera.
Annette, Bye Bye Beautiful (only Annette has song this), its about Tarya after she was fired.
Live at Wembley
🤘😊🇫🇮💙🪄🎼💯👍
What they miss at the start is marks little intro "in tradition of the band we'll start with an open letter". I damn near choked. Iykyk
Tarja Turunen Nightwish Kuolema Tekee Taijtelian End of An Era Live.
The 3 vocalist should never be compared...Floor is in a league of her own 😁❤🤘
Learned to like newer too but I prefer the older production where Tarja is the lead singer.
Tarja was more operatic, Anette was more "pop", Floor is whatever she wants. But when my gf asked who do I think is or was the best singer of NW, I found myself answering "Marco"...
We don't need a new nuclear plant here in Finland. We have Nightwish ! 🤪
HAHAHHAH SO AWESOME!!
Floor all the way...
