My best friend’s older brother worked security at a few venues in the late 90s. We were all Rage fans and he would tell us crazy stories about their live shows. He said something I still think about all the time - the band had the power to radicalize a whole middle class generation for ninety minutes, and if he hadn’t been mesmerized himself, the crowd would’ve been terrifying. When I finally saw them in ‘99 it was exactly like he said. The most incredible and compelling human energy I’ve ever experienced.
It is so refreshing to see the people in the audience being fully present at the concert... and not just worrying about capturing it on a damn smartphone

Every show since 2000 is them reuniting for a tour, not touring with any new music etc. They famously said they couldn't even agree on t-shirt logos let alone creative differences. There's actually an interview of them at an early Audioslave show where they were a bit snarky about Zack and it broke my heart back then. I'm counting the days till 2022 when their postponed tour starts. My friends already know not to try to keep track of me and I'll have lost my voice. I will be devastated if they cancel. 🤘

Always was a HUGE fan of Rage Against the Machine. Still listen to them to this day. Own every cd they ever made. What I never realized before watching this concert is that Rage Against the Machine is actually hip hop but in a rock kind of way. Never liked hip hop or rap. I learned a lot by watching this video. I don’t think there’s any footage of it out there but I saw them in 96 at Cobo Hall in Detroit and it was by far the craziest show I’ve been to and I’ve been to at least 50 shows including Rage a second time
