On the recording session for Dixie Blur I knew we needed a barnburner, a scorcher I guess, to feature the literal Fire fiddle playing of Mark O Connor, but also to feature the whole band. Dennis brought in his 8-year aged cinnamon apple moonshine , 190 proof..... I pulled out this little country psych acid biscuit making jam.
"El Camino Real,” it's a song about BBQ, Haiti, Mexico, California , and done in the style of a heaping helping of the Blue Ridge Mountains I guess...
This is the last of our behind the scenes look into the making of “Dixie Blur” at The Sound Emporium A, Nashville, USA 2019 (the year of our lord). Man, getting a chance to see inside the session is absolutely incredible. The new album is truly exceptional. I heard you a couple years ago on WNCW (local NC radio station) and later learned you are from North Carolina as am I. Your music is special man. Thank you for another great album to feast on and I pray that once you’re able to tour again you please do a show in NC. Till then, be well.

Really enjoyed these 'behind the scenes' videos and come back all the time. Such a great atmosphere, wicked studio and top notch musicians! I come back from work, sit in my tiny home studio and dream. You've been one of my main musical inspirations for years now. Thanks for all the great music.

Jonathan, saw you on Roger's "Mother" video a day or two ago. Killer solo, brother. I often imagine what it must be like to be constantly surrounded by killer players, no matter what project you're involved with. Stay safe and tilt some of that 190 proof back for me.

I just love the way Jonathan busts that out on the spot. It puts a smile on my face. 🙂
The last live concert I saw was Jonathan's solo show in the Backroom at Collective Coffee House on September 27, 2019, back before the days of the "New Normal." I feel ncredibly grateful and blessed to have been there.
How much do you charge to produce an album? Or an EP?
