Although I'm in agreement and a total hack on a guitar my theory is that the Melody since it's played on a sitar should always have at least a half step Grace note and then once I learned to play it on my 6th string it sounds even more symphonic on my 12. I'm still not in the category of either of these two gentlemen.
Music is like a Mexican restaurant. The same 12 ingredients but endless combinations that make almost infinite variety. It's so hard to choose in both cases!
Omfg! Being Mexican American with immigrants parents, I always felt this in my bones but couldn't put it into words! You just perfectly described it so simple and matter of fact. My mind is blown 🤯😂
When I heared the inversions and jazzed up versions I realized yet again why the beatles are so great: the beauty of the song lies in its simplicity. The chordprogression is perfect as it is
No no no, you guys come over and let me educate you..... lol. I would kill to play a fraction of your abilities! Thanks for sharing. I'll close my mouth now but continue to be in awe!
There's an ancient Irish tale of two harpers like this. One old, one young and they are having a conversation in poetry to say one thing and mean another.
Very cool. Btw, John plays it with a capo on the second fret from the top in case you want to learn it. It is the only song i can sing and play. It must be easy (the original not theirs)if i can do it because I have the smallest vocal range possibly ever and bad arthritis in my hands. Wonderful song too.
There's a song in there somewhere......or it used to be ;) It's all the more impressive that the Beatles were able to release such musical masterpieces while keeping the 'song' absolutely central.
story about norwegian wood. waylon jennings did the song and one day in concert he said that when the beatles did it, it was called art, when he did it it was called dirty.
Thanks for reminding me how little I know about music theory, you magnificent nerds.
Two Nerds inspiring each other and leaving us ordinaries speechless! LOL Thanks for sharing! As always, love it! Cheers DimiZ
Even though all versions are beautiful, the first two are the ones who capture the essence of the song, at least in my view.
Let the song breathe😊

Hahaha😂
Chimichangas.
After the serious 300 chord jazz version....
"Sure." 🤣🤣🤣
I like all variations on this beautiful, timeless melody. Masterwork here!
Talented souls.

Makes me smile! Thank you, gentlemen!
You guys are talented for sure
This might be the best short vid I've ever seen on the web. Love it.
A lot of talent in that room from 2 of the best guitarists on UA-cam.
I laughed so hard at the parallel-chords walkdown. It's just the essence of jazz. Beautiful, and beautifully funny.
Incredible playing! One more beautiful than the other one. Very nice classical guitar sound, great tremolo ❤️
The first one is the best !
Masters! Amazing…👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼😊💪🏼
I died laughing, this is too good. When the tremelo came on, it was tickets for me😂😂😂
You increased te Awesome in the Universe by a full unit, thanks ❤ and congratulations 😘
fusk, my two favorite guitardudes! good bless ya
Beautiful! You guys are the best!❤❤
In all my time brain rotting on UA-cam shorts this is the only one that has ever made me laugh. How they downplay eachother is awesome
This deserves so many more views. You guys are awesome!
This is epic! My two favorite players together!🎉
the legend says they are still playing this .
I cracked up so hard on this - spot on! thank you for the laugh.
Emil is insanely talented.
the inversions method sounds prettiest to me
Great Guitarists having Fun.
I love this. “That’s really simple!”
Its so good and simple! Lets mess with it until you can identify the melody twice in the entire passage.
Tremolo technique is on point
Amazing! But to me the first one was perfect.
Harmonics trumps all!!!!!😆
Stop using so many "!" that is a trump issue.
@@voornaam3191 What a weird reply.
The sitar version is one of my favorite songs
That may have been the first song where The Beatles used a sitar. George specifically.
No no no, you guys come over and let me educate you..... lol. I would kill to play a fraction of your abilities! Thanks for sharing. I'll close my mouth now but continue to be in awe!
That was great and pretty darned funny.
The original simple version is the best... to me it's perfect and doesn't need any "improvements".
Thank you! You guys made me crack up!
Great - & very helpful to show the chords, thanks.
Seriously next level playing and great comedy!
Wow, this puts my 25 years of playing guitar to shame 😭🙈hahaha.. great video guys. 👌🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
The Am7 hit hard.
Great skit! And amazing playing!
Both superb guitarists. I much prefer the style on the left. Simpler is usually better!
You guys made my day/week/year!!!!
a fine example of "one upping" each other on a master level.... brilliant
Holy guacamole!!! You guys are very special!
So good 😊
A fun display of bravura that draws attention to the musical genius of the original Beatles arrangement more than anything else.
Important lesson to all guitarists in that fact that further this goes, the worse it sounds.
Great progressions.
As usual, the best, for me, is the simplest one, that happens to be the original. 😅
There's more musicality in this short video than every Grammy award show for the last 30 years.
love it guys
Oh, so lovely!
Kicking ass & taking note
These guys! Crazy.
There's an ancient Irish tale of two harpers like this. One old, one young and they are having a conversation in poetry to say one thing and mean another.
J.S. Bach agreed on an organ play competition with L. Marchand. But Louis was not there! Maybe he got scared?
After that exchange they physically fought pulling each other's hair😊.
I play it from time to time. Very fun to play
so good! bravo dudes
Leave the original alone. It's perfection.
Totally agree.
The Jazz one is just playing the wrong notes
Thanks. Reminds me why I didn't evolve my guitar skills. Might pick it back up one day

Haha. Very enjoyable :)
"That's... that's really, really simple."
TO HIS FACE? Oooooooooo.
This is like the scene in the film, "Amadeus," where Mozart improves on Soleri's tune, except here there are two Mozart's.
its just showing off and some of these sound awful. technicality isnt everything and not always better. I liked the bit tho
"so simple and beautiful, huh? Let's fix that"
The inversions version sounds the best to me.
Brilliant!
"Simple and beautiful" LOL!
Loved this
They don't write them like this anymore. Literally.
Wow. That was spectacular!
Tremolo. Jazz harmonics. Everything.
those harmonics aren't "jazz"
"That's really SIMPLE" Hahahaha
The clean original is by far the best. That's the point I believe they're making.
@@Seanontube1 it is! Watch the whole video on Lucas channel
Браво!!! 🎉❤
If you're not singing it,,ok. The reason so many can connect is because of its simplicity
The tremolo version if my fav
This is for real how pianists talk to each other (i would know)
The first simple note version sounded the best.
Goes all Lenny Breau at the end!
There's a song in there somewhere......or it used to be ;)
It's all the more impressive that the Beatles were able to release such musical masterpieces while keeping the 'song' absolutely central.
The simple one is the best for me.
Maravilloso
This is me listening to other guitarists at Guitar Center play, while I run over my same Megadeth licks
And here is me thinking the first two without all the fancy stuff sound best.
As a beginner guitar player, I'm in awe
Just caught my guitar watching this
The first was best, by far.
Norwegian wood is perfect as it was written.
story about norwegian wood. waylon jennings did the song and one day in concert he said that when the beatles did it, it was called art, when he did it it was called dirty.
😂😂😂😂
Its really really... Simpol
Can everybody hear me howling in incompetence as I throw my guitars on the fucking fire?
The original was quite good, too..
@@BenAdam-om2hr it was our favorite 😄
Hate and love at the same time
The second one is my favorite
Mr. Norwegian Woods becoming uncanny
I just play it like Lennon played it. That’s just the best I can do.
I liked the first one the most.
Genius. It's funnier when you're a guitarist though! :D
Now you’ve done it…I’m unleashing the Eddy Van Halen version of Norwegian Wood!!!
+1 for jumper, -1 for hat.
